New on Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited

This week, we’ve added a number of new albums to the Music Unlimited service. You can get the entire download on the Sony Entertainment Network blog here, here are this week’s highlights:

Justin Bieber – Believe Acoustic

New on Music and Video Unlimited 2-1-2013

JBiebs has been riding a runaway train of success before he even hit 18, hitting platinum success across multiple countries and a staggering following of Beliebers who have helped him dominate most major music conversations. Amidst the whirlwind of the 2011 release of Believe, he managed to slow it down a bit and record acoustic versions of some of the album’s biggest tracks, without all the pomp and circumstance, including “Boyfriend,” “Beauty and the Beat,” and a live recording of “Fall.” While that is more than enough to keep fans happy, he’s also included three new songs, “Yellow Raincoat,” “I Would,” and the bonus track, “Nothing Like Us”

If You Like: Usher, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown
Recommended Track: “Fall (live)”

Destiny’s Child – Love Songs

New on Music and Video Unlimited 2-1-2013

Just in time for their reunion performance at the big game on Sunday, Destiny’s Child has come together and compiled a list of their most romantic tunes with Love Songs. While they have each explored separate avenues of success, this is a solid reminder of what put them on the music map in the first place. The tracks span across multiple albums and are some of the deep cuts that you may have missed under the weight of their massive dance songs. However, don’t miss “Nuclear,” a brand new, down-beat closer written by the girls in light of the reunion and hopefully a mirror of what is to come from the dynamic threesome.

If You Like: TLC, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland
Recommended Track: “Nuclear”

Local Natives – Hummingbird

New on Music and Video Unlimited 2-1-2013

Four years ago, Los Angeles-based Local Natives shook up the indie rock music scene, riding a then-developing “chillwave” genre that has since become a stylistic trend, relying heavily on multi-layered harmonies, muted guitars and swirling percussion. On their sophomore album Hummingbird, the band takes that concept and stretches it out, with less bombastic moments like gang vocals and more intricate musicianship. The earlier part of the album is heavy with the band’s poppier melodies while the rest carries you through a nice winter dream sequence.

If You Like: Grizzly Bear, The Shins, Beach House
Recommended Track: “Heavy Feet”

  • ps4 hype!

  • New Tegan And Sara :)

  • The Man with the Iron Fists that movie SUCKED seriously

  • I don’t know if anyone reads the comments of this post but I really want to get in touch with someone to simply confirm that Sony knows there are big issues with the iOS app for music unlimited. Any kind of response would make me feel better. Especially if there are plans to address the issues. The “favorites” station is beyond glitchy on iOS.

  • i haven’t had any problems with it. i have a i phone4s and it works fine try re-installing the app.

  • Can’t sign on the service since your updates Sony. It was working for the most part on my HTC One X, occassional issues but tolerable, now it’s busted all to hell.
I was told by customer service that you know there’s a problem and your fixing it, although no time frame was known.
Anyway, your running outta time to prove to me that i should renew and your doing nothing to get me to reccommend this to anyone i know. I really do want to give you my money Sony but the least you could do for me is earn it.

  • I have a Droid 4 and, ever since the update, I have been getting the connection error message. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but I still get the same message. I really wish they would fix this. It’s really become a problem…

  • What’s the twitter for the people in charge of the playstation store?? I posted a tweet on playstation’s twitter & ask playstation about adding “Hard To Hold” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgElDMLkhZw to the playstation store. And, Never got a reply back. All the PSN users that was born in the early 70’s or mid 70’s (Like me) will know this movie. Rick Springfield is in it (Was his 1st film) And, Would love to see it again. Like me.

  • Ever since the last PSN maintenance, Music Unlimited hasn’t worked on my PSP it always says can’t connect to server. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled like 4 times and my internet connection is just fine. I’ve heard of other people also saying it’s not working on their PSP/Vita either. I tried to find info on whats up but no one knows anything, it only seems to work on my PS3.
It’s been two weeks since then and i’ve been trying to figure out whats wrong with my PSP but judging from the other posts, the error is on your end. Thanks for not warning anybody.

  • @dadz06 are you sure you’ve tried listening to the “favorites” station on your iphone? This is the station that only plays songs you’ve liked. On every iphone i’ve tried it plays the first song twice in a row. then it plays a few songs, then it plays those 3 songs again. It often glitches back to the beginning and plays all those songs in the same order again. When you’ve “liked” hundreds of songs this is the best station to use, but it’s unusable on iOS. Can anyone else confirm this?

  • I got MU pretty much so I could use it on my phone. I have a EVO3D and it was working decently for awhile. Ever since the update the other day I have been getting “another user has signed in whenever I try to login. It is getting really frustrating because I want to use it on my phone.

  • I like Music Unlimited and all, but since this last update I have not been able to use it on my phone. On the PS3 it’s perfectly fine. On my Note 2, it cannot connect to server no matter what type of connection I use, 4G, 3G, or wi-fi. I have not heard any response to this problem and feel as if me constantly uninstalling and reinstalling the app is becoming a pain. Since I am paying for the service, I cannot understand why Sony is not responding to this issue, especially since the number of people complaining is steadily rising and about to mar this apps reputation on Google Play, I have not seen the reviews for iPhone.
