February 12th PlayStation Plus Update (EU)

    FREE – 24K Gold PS3 Bundle

Bundle includes an actual bag of gold, 5 newly released games, and a visit from Morgan Haro
where he will come do your dishes with a smile.

  • A couple months back we (EU region) complained about our updates saying the american updates were much better. Now its the opposite.

    Oh well.

  • Very bad update.

  • I swear the amount of crying that goes on on these plus update blogs is hilarious. People have such small minds that it makes laugh at them.. O no the EU store got sleeping dogs, but we got guardians of middle earth. most have never played it, no nothing of it. but because its not some big named title they are bashing the game and the plus subscription. Since I have joined the plus early last year I have thoroughly enjoyed my freebies, i know every week or every month for that matter has stuff that I may not be really into, but there is a lot of games that have been released that I am glad I downloaded and tried out FOR FREE. BTW Sleeping dogs is a decent game but it isnt the greatest title in the world so calm down ppl and go get a life.

  • I think a title like dragon age 2 or a discount on Ni No Kuni would be a great update. I wish we could vote on titles that we want to see from month to month. this way even though everyone will never be satisfied it will quelch some of dickery that goes on in these blogs. If we had the ability to choose 1 or 2 games out of ten that we would want to see next month I think that would be amazing. That is all

  • @ thrillwell (#646) lol that made my day :)
If that were the case, I actually would be complaining about EU vs. NA plus

  • Its hard to fathom all of the haters and their complaints. I wonder If they realize that Sony doesn’t have to give us free games, not to mention A LOT of free games. No other service does this. I have been 50/50 on the games they have released since I joined plus in December, but complaining about free things makes you sound very petty.

  • im staring to think ps plus it not worth it anymore.

Look at those discounts on Vita games… Bummer. C’mon Morgan, you gotta give us something better next week. Deals on BlazBlue, Rayman, SFxTekken, Mortal Kombat… Seriously, what’s wrong with Sony US?

  • @Betorro –

Y u think its not worth it? U are getting a game worth 14.99 for free and getting 40-50% off on some psn games which EU got for free in the past.

  • PS PLUS FOREVER!!!
    Thank You Sony.

  • Stop complaining, If you want a game like Sleeping Dogs, just go and buy it, with plus you can enjoy games you would not even think buying, For example, if I buy AC3, I would feel bad if this next month they give for free AC3 as well.

    I enjoy this crappy games.

  • @edo6cr –

WOW! What an ingenious idea. Yes stop complaining ppl, if u want something go and buy it. NA+ will be always giving out crappy updates cuz edo6cr wants crappy games and NA+ satisfies only the ppl who crave for crappy games. If you want good games you have to buy it or you have to enroll to EU+.

  • @Sevyne –

What a tool? Last week and bfore week u were complaining abt the complainers and now u are complaining. HMMM, even if its on diff content, I dont understand that u are allowed to complain when u feel its wrong and others should not complain if they thougt it was wrong.

  • I canceled my PS+ auto renewal a few days ago, and I’m glad I did. These recent PS+ updates have been lame. I don’t need the best games free, but I know US PS+ can do better than this. I don’t know why you just don’t offer the same freebies to EU and NA at the same time… I’m guessing it’s because of some stupid company policy or politics. It seems this one simple action would resolve a lot of hurt feelings. I get it that EU and NA are run apart from each other, but we have phones, emails, texts, etc. Is it really that hard of a thing to do?

  • I am a new user of Play Station Plus. The last month I was surprised with the free-to-download content. I gave
“Infamous 2” a try since it never look appealing to me, and it turn out to be a great game. In fact, it is the one that I play the most these days. Little Big Planet 2 is also a great game, lots to do with it. No need to say, I was very excited about the new content coming for February and now that I see the update, it is kind of disappointing. I though that “Sleeping Dogs” and the F1 racing game was going to be available for us too but sadly I was wrong.
I´m not sure if I will download these offered games but I am certainly hopping to find better content for the up coming months.

  • I almost cannot believe the amount of childish comments on here, you’re getting FREE games stop complaining just because it’s a game you may not want. Have you even tried Guardians of Middle Earth? It’s pretty good, especially if you like MOBA’s ( League of Legends/DOTA) . It’s a 15$ game, there’s your + subscription right there, not to mention the other free games we will get this month and the discounts on other games on top of that. By the way, Sleeping Dogs is not that great, just because it is a well known game does not make it good.

  • Hey, maybe if you guys keep crying you can float Sleeping Dogs to america in a river of your tears.

  • @Werebiscuit –

FREE games? Haven’t u read the terms and conditions? It’s free till ur subscription is active and u need to PAY for the subscription. Most of the complainers are complaining abt the value of the game not how good or bad the game is, cuz it differs from person to person. U think GOME is better than Sleeping dogs good for u, for me Sleeping dogs is gazillion times greater than GOME, I can say that with just taking the sales of respective games. But the point is the value of the game we get compared to EU+. Since PS store sells this game for 14.99 and plus gets it for free doesnt mean its worth this months budget of plus cuz I have other quality games to spend my limited time with rather than downloading this piece of *beep* and trying it out.

  • @MyCoolLewis

HUH! U tried to be smart or funny there? CUZ all I noticed is childish gibberish there hahaha.

  • I tried the guardians of middle earth demo and wasn’t really impressed. Don’t think Ill be downloading it. Or purchasing any of the others for that matter. Guess I’ll just wait for next month.

  • @merimack

    U mean next week?

  • @664 So you seem to have missed my point ENTIRELY last week then. What are you braindead or something? I complained about people crying that they didn’t get a PS3 game on a week that the weren’t even supposed to get one. I even said that they can complain about the quality all they want, but the quantity has been no different since June and so there is nothing to complain about as far as that goes. We both made this very clear to each other. Do you have the brain of a goldfish or something man or do you just like to target me?

Also weren’t you the one saying people need to be more polite, yet here you are being a total ass for no reason at all AGAIN. I’m not responding back to you anymore btw because it’s clear as day that you are in fact just a lame troll.

  • @thrillwell – Really, No logic. Use some next time you compare EU and NA please and thank you.

  • @sab_krit – He prob ment next month because I guess the full games in plus is once a month I’m assuming from what people say.

  • @657: Actually they do have to, because people payed for that service. Unless they plan to refund everyone’s subscriptions that is.

  • thx for the broken game!

  • @blackashgallow – Quality Beats Quantity any day of the week. Proven Fact. But when it comes to people complaining about the service they are paying for yeah if they aren’t happy they have every right to complain about it. They probably got hooked in with the advertised quality good games they have advertised on the plus part of the portal then get into it and blam get hit with stuff way beneath it. If you buy a PPV and it messes up half way through it for no reason, would you complain? even though your provider is considered “top notch” and only one that offered this, this soon. Or if you were paying for certain things as a service, and not getting what you paid for, Do you complain? You and everyone that complains about people complaining over a luxury service they pay for are most likely hypocrites. Do people have empty threats of un-renewal? Yeah most definitely, but that’s on them.

-That being said, I never gotten a chance at Borderlands but when I SIGNED UP it was advertised under new in the portal for plus as NEW. Hmmmm that needs to be updated more often.

  • I’ve been a plus member for almost 2 years now and for the most part love it.Two things however are making me reconsider renewing.1.Europe seems to get some really awesome games like Arkham City and Sleeping dogs when we get NBA jam and Foosball….really!WTF? 2. What the hell happened to dynamic themes?Give us some new themes already

  • @drama904 – Your comparing full games to arcade-type games, We received full games so that’s not a even comparison unless all EU gets is full games.

  • @DonkeyKongKilla

Actually it is fair to compare the psn games we get to their full games. This is because EU has gotten every full game we have except for King of Fighters and Street Fighters, and on top of that they have received another 10 FULL ps3 games that we have not. So with that in mind I believe it is fair to compare our psn games to their full games.

  • @BlueBl1zzard

As promised, my reply to your post:

You stated that when you compare overall service in NA to overall service in EU that the only thing that -is- affected are the games. Awesome, that’s what I wanted to hear. Because now you have no choice but to admit that you are purposely ignoring the part of the service that is bringing the most displeasure to subscribers, as it’s the only part that is differing. Coming to the boards and talking about the other parts of the service and talking about how happy you are with it (despite no one saying otherwise) only makes me wonder why you would only look at half the information and turning a blind eye to the quality issue. Care to explain?

  • @TwinDad

I back my assertion that complaints got us Darksiders with one simple fact:

No month prior to January (as far as I’ve been a member) had two retail games, especially back to back. To have a second retail game that is superior to the first, the very week after the first was released to a multitude of complaints and dissatisfaction is a very strong indicator that complaints got the job done. You should have noticed as well that when Darksiders was released, it replaced NBA Jam in the “featured” part of PSPlus. Very strong evidence that Darksiders was meant to “replace” the mistake they made with NBA Jam.

Can you back your assertion that “It cannot be!” with an actual rational argument or are you just blindly arguing for the sake of arguing? And don’t come back to me with bull about “how things work” since neither of us work for Sony. So unless you have some information that the rest of us are not privy to, you’ll have to look at the evidence and make your conclusion. What’s your evidence to claim complaints did not help with Darksiders?

  • PSP compatible Plus content! PSone, minis, PSN, PSP games! You guys have no idea how much sales you’re missing out because you virtually don’t support PSP at all now.

  • first off, let me say i have been a playstation fan all my life since the days of crash bandicoot, cool boarders, jet moto, ff 7, etc on the ps1. i didnt buy into the plus program til almost a year ago when the instant game collection began with a treasure trove of great games. when that happened, i was hooked. after the initial release of all the instant game collection titles, there were a few that were awesome (borderlands and resident evil 5 to name a few) and a majority of the rest in my opinion were not very good.

im not going to rant and rave like a majority of the folks on here, but why not prior to releasing free games for plus, having a handful of titles and asking users to vote on what they want??? i understand that there are issues with licensing and money with the publishers and whatnot, but i know there are at least a handful of games you guys can release instead of some of the letdowns we have received lately. let the fans and users vote! it will make A LOT more people happy and your job easier (not having to reply to so many angry little kids).

  • @bamahollis88 – Logical, but still to put it in place where it is. Did a little research from the past. Looks of I already seen they are getting mirror games of NA from december area, but also full games I seen on the post that EU haven’t received and to the best of my knowledge havent’ yet. I doubt they received every full game we have gotten dispite a couple I’d say, and actually from the chart I just seen from sept. I believe, Well we are getting mirror of there games they got back then, so what to say to that? hmph coinwinidink. So no it’s not a fair comparison, we might actually see those games later down the road looking at how the past was.

  • So, nothing this week for me…or last week…darksiders was decent a few weeks back, but lest we forget foosball pro, morgan may let them do that to us again.

Why can’t we see the results of the poll? Shouldn’t that info be public so the community can see how the community feels?

I only ask because I can’t help but feel that information is being interpreted poorly by someone, and perhaps crowd-sourcing such things would be more productive?

  • @ ElroyMckracken – The Poll was made private because people were more concerned with the poll results while commenting on this. They want feedback through commenting on the content of the update not of the poll. I mean we can pretty much see by most comments what the results were give or take a few hundred votes off.

  • I can understand not being able to give out huge free games every single month ala the giveaway following the E3 announcement, but giving an online only game one week and no free game the week before the quality has certainly gone downhill. Furthermore, its not just recently that the EU Edition has been much better than the US’s, the EU got Deus Ex, Oddworld HD and many more when the US got Awesomenauts as the only game that month. I’m getting more annoyed with how few quality titles are actually chosen for the US and I believe it’s predominantly because the US is taken advantage given how many of us already own the ps3 systems. In the EU it’s being inflated to make the service more attractive than the much cheaper 360 and quite frankly its crap.

  • @ DonkeyKongKilla

Here is a list of the games US and EU has gotten from the start of the IGC.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmRRDLosxQLIdGJmcVJudmxhSzhsb1hkX19ZRWMxS0E#gid=0

So yea, they have gotten all but two of the full games we have. It is true we might get some of the games that they have gotten in the past, but while we are getting some of their old games they will still be getting new ones, and we will continue to fall behind when it comes to full games.

  • Morgan – Honestly thinking about discounts, you claim people save a lot what was it, almost $2500 on discounts yearly through this service, Well I honestly don’t know the timing when where to when you receive content will be on sale, but I think for Plus discounts it should be done bi-monthly. I’ve seen and people even messaged me on PSN about being screwed over on a discount that came out merely weeks after the games release. So that approximate goes down when you put in that factor of what people can save because pretty much people do procrastinate on getting games then they’re like oh its on sale I’m grabbing it, but then people also get the games on release that would of waited for the discount instead, So it pisses people off. Suggestion, bi-monthly on discounts if possible, or discount indications on game store releases to please people. Your guys job to make us happy, not the other way around. Just a thought ya know?

  • @DonkeyKongKilla

In response to your response to baha, I find it ludicrous that you think it’s not a fair comparison because “we might actually see those games later down the road looking at how the past was”. So in other words, don’t compare because you never know what the future might hold? That’s the weakest thing I’ve ever heard.

Comparison is invited because we live in the internet age where how companies treat different regions has become completely transparent. Customers from different regions should and will compare themselves to eachother as it is their primary motivation to get as much as value as they can, just as it’s the motivation of Sony to save as much cost and gain as much income as possible.

As a customer you have a duty to push on value, not just for yourself but for all your fellow subscribers. One way of doing so is comparing and complaining. Everything from the government to wanting a change in the department of your job works this way. Constant complaints results in action.

Why ever would you argue otherwise?

  • @Sevyne – U are complaining again, but u hate complainers. I hope by end of today u will hate urself cuz u complained.

  • @oeGoodsnake – You actually missed the actual point. Instead targeted the smaller part thinking it as a whole, I stopped reading, your ignorance is not forgiven.

  • Can’t wait to try GoME!

I’ll pick up some FF games too for the Vita. Can’t beat half off price.

    :)

  • @DonkeyKongKilla

No need to be a prick, if I missed anything, it was due to your lack of ability to communicate in English. As far as I saw, I quoted you correctly in saying that comparison is unwarranted due to what the future may hold. If I was mistaken, you could have corrected me as swimming through the mire of your words, even a second time to try to understand if I misunderstood something, is a serious task.

As it stands, it looks to me as if you’re just unwilling to clarify and decided not to partake in any arguments with me. That’s fine by me; I did not intend to insult you to begin with, however, you succeeded in insulting me.

Unfortunate, I was not looking to make any enemies today.

  • @chuckd13 –

Why u think the complainers are all angry lil kid. might be true with Sevyne, but not all of them are lil kids and many are angry.

  • Got to wait for one more week to check whether NA+ can beat this crappy GOME update for this month.

  • @JoeGoodsnake – Its not being a prick it was off of something else I originally said about comparison if you would stay updated on this page you’d know that. I wasn’t arguing at all about complaining in general, I was merely stating at first the content called that was actually being compared and someone jumped on it. My lack to communicate in English? No hablo Espanol. I didn’t nor any other language for that matter. I didn’t attack you personally, but if your going to rebuttal something at least make sure you know everything that was being said in the first place, Meaning, Go to what he said, Then if it was to something what I said see what that was. So on til you get to the actual core of it to property analysis WHAT WAS BEING SAID.
