  • Suggestion! Can you put what is leaving the plus IGC when the replacement game is listed to show people a comparison for what is leaving and replacing? I know it shows up in the store update but I think it would make more sense to have it on the plus update to inform people as to why a certain game is coming in and not compare it to a game like Sleeping Dogs(while good is very short for an open world game).

There will be complaints no matter what is released. Value of a dollar folks. Figure it out. :D

  • How about Saints Row the Full Package? Cut a week if you have to just get us something amazing. Every month.

  • @292, JammieDodger, lol but did you euro types get a Wizard’s Edition debacle like we did, where many pre-ordered only to be told sorry, oversold, you’re not getting it & since we made this from fairy f*rts and unicorn hair, we can’t simply make more? I had to call them, threaten to cry and shoot up the place before I finally got my WE. And yes, it is awesome. And, don’t believe the tags, you can wash Mr. Drippy in the washer if you’re careful.

  • @JoeGoodsnake

I totally get your perspective on objective quality, however, it reallys does boil down to subjective taste, and whether it interests you. if I went out and purchased the 1st Uncharted today, and they gave it away in a weeks time, I wouldn’t be upset they gave PS+ users a 4-5 year old game…I’d be happy for other PS+ users who would finally have an oppertunity to try it. sure, I would be discouraged there’s nothing for me that week, but it’s not affecting the overall value of the sub, and therefore wouldn’t get all butthurt about it. to look at that from the other PS+ users end though, I can understand how some would be put off by recieving a 4-5 year old game while the EU PS+ gets a 1 year old game. but again, different prices, different games, different regions, different developers, etc…the only true way to solve an issue like this is to get rid of regions, and have a One World PS+, where all the same games are offered to everyone at the exact same times. should I be all butthurt that I bought HotShotsGolf Complete Edition almost a year ago, and then was on sale around xmas? because I’m not.

  • People expect to see on PSN+ only the games they know they’ll like. I like the fact that PSN+ offers games that I wouldn’t buy, because it offers me the chance to play something different. As much as I like that they offered Resident Evil 5 and The King of Fighters XIII on PSN+, I already had them exactly because I really wanted to play them. So you all shouldn’t act like “but I really wanted Sleeping Dogs!!!”, because if you really wanted to play it, you’d already have bought it in the first place. And stop crying, we already get enough content for the 50$ we pay.

  • you guys have a fan in me. I got a free year when I signed up for the ps credit card, I am still going to buy the new deal (probably going to wait to the last minute to see if you guys make an even better sale. When I do buy the plus extension it will take me all the way to oct 2015. I love it.

That said please no more online centered games they are always so annoying. Waiting for some good sales maybe Sly collection 75% off?

Already have 600 bucks saved for ps4 and a warranty give me some sugar baby.

  • Blah blah, you keep doing what you guys want… its complaints all the time with these kids.

  • @lisatsunami

Thanks. Do you know is it possible to cancel the plus subscription and do we get any money back if we do that?

  • PS PLUS US IS A JOKE!

    i want sleeping dogs

  • @Ratpatrol01

Blah blah, you keep doing what you guys want… its complaints about the complainers all the time with you kids.

  • To anyone complaining about getting a game through Plus for free after buying it a short time prior at full price:

If you have Plus, take the free games and only buy games that you really want that are discounted through Plus.

    OTHERWISE, LEAVE EVERYTHING ELSE ALONE!!!

I have been a subscriber to Plus since day one, and this is a lesson I learned VERY early on.

Oh, and be careful when picking up games on the store, one of my friends got billed $50 on his credit card for a game he never ordered while picking up one of the free Plus games a few weeks ago.

When he went to order the Plus game, Lord of the Rings: War in the North mysteriously piggybacked itself into the cart with the Plus game. When my friend deleted it from the cart, the purchase order came out to $0.00 for the Plus game, but $50 was secretly billed to his credit card.

Lesson to learn, BEWARE OF PS STORE BUGS!!!

And we had better hope it is only a bug, and not someone up at Sony purposely trying to scam people out of their money!

  • @DaGimp13

I don’t think there is a soul here that will agree with you regarding the 1 dollar a month being enough to warrant better games. It’s not pay more, get more; there are ratios of subscription cost to value that you should be comparing, not just a simple minded abstraction of “more means more”.

And please, do tell me, why are you coming to the rescue of that dainty damsel in distress, Sony? Are the complainers in this board such dragons that Sony cannot defend itself? We are providing enough evidence of the discrepancy in value between the two regions and yet Sony doesn’t even feel their American customers are even worthy of having a PR post to calm us down.

Did you see Morgan respond to a single argument in 6 months regarding this discrepancy? Did anyone from SCEA ever make a public announcement stating that they will try to reconcile the mass difference in quality? So if even they feel we are not deserving of a response, why do you feel the need to defend them?

  • @sab_krit

you can’t cancel, you you can let it expire.

    @lisatsunami

thanks, we Canadians try to be, but it’s getting harder to be so polite when dealing with the self-entitled generation…whatever happened to swatting a kid in the back of the head? lol jk

  • Again… SO glad I don’t invest on PS+. Can’t stand getting disappointed every week.

  • is it reasonable to pay $50 a year and expect a new free $50 game every month? no it is not. I’ve more than made my money back, and will try this week’s game for Poops and giggles even though it’s not necessarily my favorite genre. then again, i have a job, family, and other responsibilities, so perhaps i just have a different sense of perspective on the whole video game thing.

  • Man, you just gotta admire Morgan’s patience to deal with the “US X EU” kids.
Oh well, keep wasting your time here starting a war with stupid motives.
My sincere advice for the ones who liked the update: Stop talking to these babies, don’t feed trolls. Enjoy your free games every week, like I do.

  • @DaGimp13

As i expected. So my 50 bucks is wasted on an inferior service of plus *sigh*

  • I have the PS+ USA & PS+ European, because i was sick of see the triple A gifts in the european Plus versus rhe awful games in the American Plus.

  • @Morgan:

I’d like to make some suggestions. I think you need to change how you present us Plus information.

The content, in my opinion, has been value-poor for many months, but I think the way NA blog conveys Plus info makes it seem worse. It is far more convoluted than it should be.

I want to know what games are coming each month, as opposed to each week.

I want to know what games are leaving Plus, and when.

I would like the information conveyed in a more instantly digestible form. This layout is cluttered, choked and a bit overwritten. It’s not always immediately apparent what video goes with what content.

If you are going to continue to include polls, please do not shunt them off to the side, at the top, middle, bottom — it seems like every week it is in a new place. If you want our feedback in poll form, please make it accessible, consistent and noticeable.

    Cheers.

  • RESULTS FOR THIS POLL HAVE BEEN SET TO PRIVATE <- why?

  • @JoeGoodsnake

you can compare the cost-to-value ratios per region all you want, but if you pay for more coffee at Starbucks, do you expect more coffee, or so you just want them to try and fit more coffee into the same smaller cup? so argue all you want, but if you pay more, you get more, thats how the world works.

and no, Sony doesn’t need my assistance in defending itself, just as the complainers don’t need my assistance in complaining. as one PS+ subscriber to another, it’s embarassing to watch individuals whine and cry like children, while stating they are adults. adults don’t act like children, they have reasonable conversations/debates, such as what we’re currently doing. realistically, if all these individuals didn’t like NA PS+, they wouldn’t sub or re-sub…but they do. this speaks volumes, as they’re either hypocrites, or swimming in the shallow end of the intelligence pool.

yes, I have seen MH respond to MULTIPLE questions regarding the “discrepancies” in MULTIPLE posts, and it has been explained numerous timesto users , including one responce by MH in todays post, as to why the different regions get different games at different times.

  • Under Knytt Underground it says “Original price: $9.99 $14.99; PS Plus price: $5.00 $8.99”

I’m pretty sure it’s backwards, right?

  • @JoeGoodsnake

LOL dude, you got the response from the face of sony NA plus, it’s not his fault we keep getting lesser quality games. His hands are tied, its the publisher’s fault they were not able to get the games of the same quality to NA plus store. But still u will get contents well worth for the money u r paying, even if it means more psn games compared to EU’s quality retail full games.

  • I have not posted this in a while so here goes:

I’ve been a PS+ member since well before the IGC was implemented and I REALLY miss the PSOne classics, themes, minis and avatars we used to get through Plus.

Here is my suggestion on how Plus could work:

Week 1: PS3 full game or Highly rated PSN game. (our, so called, game of the month)
Week 2: PSN game or PSOne/PS2 classic.
Week 3: PSOne classic or PS Mini
    Week 4: Discounts; Themes; Avatars

    Just my 2 cents

  • @sab_krit

no, it’s only wasted if you CHOOSE not to download the free games available. again, it’s subjective taste. if I spend $50 on a years sub for PS+, and dont download a thing, I’ll have wasted it….but I CHOOSE to download the free games, even if I may not play them often, and therefore I’ve received value for my subscription. how much value I wish to receive is depenant on me. If I choose not to download at least $50 worth of games, or not take advantage of a discount when available, that is my choice, just as it would be your choice if you decided or decided NOT to purchase/download something.

  • o _ o’ …..nothing is calling out to me here.
I agree with #37 @hartbrek310 give us something that would be worthwhile & dont dominate the trophy list with online required trophies. As a trophy hunter I detest having to get a trophy online with me beating up or partnering with a ten year old.

  • @oZc-Gauss

lol, well done and well said.

  • Morgan haters are going to hate. And people please stop complaining about free games EU got this game and we did not.Have you ever thought of buying those games they are pretty cheap now.And morgan one question i pre ordered Dead Space 3 on the psn and it said it will be available anytime after 12:01 pst,i am in the eastern time zone will it also release at midnight here?? and morgan keep up the good work.

  • @Morgan Haro on @143 JoeGoodsnake – Whoa-ho! Now, I know Destructoid gets list on those “On The Net” posts or whatevz, but to see you linking directly to the often scathing (and definitely polarizing) Jim Sterling… That feels neat. I generally agree with Jim (and feel out of sorts when others I like discount him), and generally, PS Plus is good. Fifty bucks, once a year, it’s kinda one of those pay-and-forget matters for me. Now, I haven’t been getting a paycheck since August, so I can’t be that willy-nilly now (though I still am…), but I’m set ’til, what, October of 2014?

If there’s three things I’d wish for, they’d be a reintroduction of Classics and minis to the Plus offerings, adding Cloud Saves support for non-PS3/PSV titles, and for the PS Store to correctly reflect what I have (can’t purchase a free add-on because it’s deep in my Download List, inFAMOUS is not available because I own it, again deep in my download list…).

Oh, and for alphabetical sorting in the XMB.

  • Terrible update ¬¬

  • Nice update sony I been wanting to play Guardians of Middle Earth, may pick up Karateka, I loved it on Atari even though that one guy you fought with that bird that killed me so many times lol. Anyway I see some people saying we want sleeping dogs, I as a we don’t want it, and if I want a game I buy it instead of whining for it for free lol. I will never understand why people complain we get games as promised every month for only 50 bucks a year. PS Plus is an amazing service. Every game in the world can’t be free on PS plus. Also if I don’t like a game on plus I’ll play it anyway because it’s free, and if were all hardcore gamers and love earning trophies to be the best gamer out there we will play that game and earn those trophies because we area hardcore gamer.

  • >.< I bought Guardians of Middle Earth a few weeks ago and the game is not even that good…

    That's just bad luck.

Also I REALLY hope that next week we DONT get Sleeping Dogs… come on PS US… be more original. There a tons of other good games.

And finally… where are the discounts for Full Games?

Far Cry 3, Musou Orochi 2, Legasista and others could have some discounts for plus members….

  • First off, I Never post comments on things like this because I feel there is no point. Week after week, a large majority of the community is disappointed and frustrated by the paltry offerings made by PS NA and the fact that the EU service is so consistently knocking it out of the park with high quality games and yet those criticisms fall on deaf ears. Most of the recent updates have been a complete joke. I’m not sure who is responsible for making these terrible choices for games, but whoever they are, the should be fired and returned to whatever dumpster they crawled out of and bring their crappy games with them. “But Bioshock 2 and Darksiders” you whine. Not enough, not nearly enough. “blah blah blah the best value in gaming” it was a really great value because of the initial games being offered and the prospect of similar tiered games. I didnt sign up for a bunch of fighting games and some lame psn games that I would never play even if the were free. ———>

  • —–> And its really annoying to see that morgan fool coming on here and acting like he doesnt know that these updates are utter trash, its insulting and really obnoxious. Like how are you going to sit at a computer and actually type out “Fooseball” and not feel like a complete disappointment to the customers that you are trying to satisfy. And he is always talking about how its all about the deals they make with the developers and regions and this and that. What developers are you reaching out to? If your job is to work out deals to make people happy, and you’re not….then maybe someone else should be hired…someone who can actually do the job and do it well…someone with a bigger ding dong.

  • if the complainers truly believe PS+ in general is not worth the value of the sub, and truly believe it to be an inferior service (inferior to what? 360 Gold with it’s NOT giving out any free games?) then maybe they should show how incredibly intelligent and motivated they are, create their OWN network/Store, and create their own “rental” program….oh, whats that? you have no clue how? STFU, GTFO, and be happy with what you have, or just dont get it again in the future, and you’ll be happy you didnt spend that $50 to not get anything.

  • If this year doesn’t get as good as it was when I first started ps+ I am probably not resubscribing. 50 bucks for crap games I never heard of? no thanks!

  • Is there any chance of an upcoming sale involving ps1 games at this point I do not even care if it comes at special deals for ps plus or not I would accept just normal sale prices on ps1 games. I have a bunch of money on my card already and I have been saving it for the last 3 months waiting for a sale on ps1 games but it seems to feel like the ps1 category of games and also things such as the themes are being swept under the rug anymore. I used to like getting the free themes for ps plus but havent seen one in months now. Is this going to change soon? Or should I just find something else to spend the credit on?

  • we just downloaded the trial version of Guardians of Middle Earth this weekend … & we played for our time limit & really enjoyed it … I had promised my son that as soon as it went on sale, we would have it, & low & behold, here it is … & for free ! thanks so much … I’m not sure about the other games that are discounted, but will check trailers to see …. the one HUGE downside to plus is running out of HDD memory ! I went with the 320 gb unit & thought it would last forever … 18 months into plus, & space is becoming an issue . 1 st world problems … appreciate the update … also, any word on the file sizes for the upcoming Skyrim DLC ? want to get the 3 packs, but am concerned about space …. for every person who is upset with a plus offering, there will be someone else who is thrilled … no point in getting upset, there will be something new next week ….

  • @DaGimp13

I choose to download it cuz I dont wanna play the cra**y psn games. If it is so good then I would hv know its really good like Journey or walking dead else it is Cra*. Yes it is wasted cuz I could hv added 12 more bucks and subscribed for EU plus and got the awesome valued games rather than psn games which I dont want to try even if it is for free for non plus users too. Now I have already paid for a service which is not as good as its other counterpart, I feel that I have wasted my money.
Yes it depends on each individual and thats y I said, “I” wasted my 50 dollars even if it gives content worth more than it, CUZ this 50 dollars will be gone, since I cant use the one or two games which I downloaded even if I get a EU plus subscription and I can’t cancel the damned subscription in the early stages of its cancer..

  • Hello, Morgan and the rest of the PS+ community. Perhaps if you (Morgan) were to give a brief explanation of how games are selected to be free each week/month/quarter whatever some ponies here (Yes I am a brony) may stop complaining some. For example; explain who it is that pays the money for these “free” games that are “bought” then downloaded by thousands for free every Tuesday. Believe me this is a business and nothing is given away absolutely free. Some pony always pays for them. Yes I was sorely disappointed by Foosball 12 and slightly less annoyed by the no free ps3 games last week, but rest assured the best is still yet to come and you haven’t seen anything yet.

  • Good god are you guys ungrateful. Just because you don’t like a game doesn’t mean no one else does. And so what if EU get’s Sleeping Dogs? You think they always get the best games? You act like there haven’t been times when we got fantastic expensive titles while they didn’t get anything great.

We get a service that has offered over 2000$ in free content for only 50$ and yet most of you complain about how unfair it is and how ripped off you are… Than don’t subscribe to it. You knew what you were getting into and if getting Awesomenauts, Double Dragon Neon, Gotham City Imposters, Hard Corps Uprising, Infamous 2, Gravity Rush, Uncharted Golden Abyss, Just Cause 2, LBP2, Outland, R&C All 4 One, Renegade Ops, free episodes of The Walking Dead, Scott Pilgrim, Shank, Shift 2, King of Fighters 13, Bioshock 2, Tomb Raider Underworld, Virtua Fighter 5, Warhammer, Darksiders, Super Street Fighter 4, Resident Evil 5 Gold, Anomly, Rochard, Bloodrayne, Sideway, Quantum Conundrum and tons of other games with lots of sales on games that you can keep completely…. If that isn’t considered a deal to you, then I don’t want to live on this planet.

  • For everyone screaming for Sleeping Dogs, direct your requests to Square Enix, not Sony. It’s in Sony’s best interest to make Plus as attractive as possible, but if SE’s North American branch doesn’t agree to putting Sleeping Dogs on Plus for free there’s nothing they can do about it. Period. Plus offerings haven’t been great lately (at least the free games, the discounts have been stellar), but they’ve still been pretty damn good. Hell, you’re paying $0.96 each week for a service that gives you at the very least 4 free games every month with discounts that make almost every other download service out there look like a joke aside from maybe Steam (and it’s getting close).

This whining from everyone every single Plus post is getting old, it’s starting to sound like a bunch of spoiled children with entitlement issues.

  • lol Once again, people get a game they’ve used in the past to show the “quality” of games that UK gets, and they do nothing but whine about it. It’s seriously the first week of the month. Chill the hell out, folks.

Guardians of Middle Earth is a really fun game, and a great gateway drug into the MOBA scene. A little sad I bought it a month ago now, but it happens, so I’m not salty about it. It’s a good update, and I really hope people enjoy it. It’s definitely worth the download.

And to the people complaining about “lol another PSN game with a bunch of DLC” – welcome to MOBAs. Actually, be glad that most of the Champions in this game are really easy to unlock with in game currency, and that there’s only a handful you actually have to pay for (none of whom, imo, have turned out to be that fun).

  • @Morgan

Thanks for replying, I did not expect a reply.

I’ve been with Plus since I got a PS3, back in November, so this is not a new opinion. I understand that this service is better than what your competitors are offering (at least until the release of Steambox). My problem is not comparing PSPlus to XboxLiveGold, it’s with comparing PSPlus NA to PSPlus EU. I’ve already gotten my money’s worth, out of Plus and am quite happy with it except in this one instance. It’s not reasonable for me to only get my money’s worth once over and for my EU friend to get his money’s worth ten times over.

If publisher issues, and regional discrepancies cannot be handled and will always remain, I think that the NA subscription cost should be lowered significantly. Would you agree?

  • I’m going to post this again because I really, really want it to be seen.

Here’s an outline of the kinds of content that I would be thrilled to see from Plus and, more importantly, that Plus could realistically offer:

    1. Recent/new PSN games. There’s no chance of anyone already having a game if it has just been released, so the appeal is pretty universal.

    2. Games that are enticing enough to be worth a download but not enough to buy outright. This category includes many so-called AA games. A few good examples of this are Operation Raccoon City, Binary Domain (you guys already have a pretty good arrangement with Sega, right? Please try to get this), and Lollipop Chainsaw.

    3. Games that went overlooked upon release/sold poorly. How many people bought White Knight Chronicles 2? Folklore? Hell, you guys own Folklore. It’s yours to give at any time. With the polls indicating a heavy interest in RPGs, I really hope you guys take a look back at some of the games you have in your IP stable. Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom is another Sony RPG that many people might not even know exists, let alone own.

  • @JoeGoodsnake

No, the money cannot be reduced. How you think the plus team will get the salary for the job they are doing, if the money is reduced?

  • @sab_krit

Sorry taking so long, I was out… dont know if someone answered already, but yes, Im pretty sure you can sign EU+ and play the games in your NA account, as I said before, you must keep your EU account in the system, and your NA account or any other user in the system can play the games… I do it myself, cause Im not from US, but creates a Plus account, buying PSN cards online…

The system even allows you create a second version of a profile, with the same e-mail, and download the stuff purchased… for instance, a friend of mine had a 1 month subscription for EU+, so he lend me the username and password, and I could make a profile in my PS3 and download the games (that I’ve lost after that month passed)…

  • Hello, everyone. I understand alot of the complaints regarding the disparity between US and EU Plus programs. No matter the logistics, no matter the details, it is evident that a decent number of US Plus subscribers perceive the service holds a far greater value in the EU region. Whether true or not, it is what I think is a growing point of view.
It makes sense that different regions have different allowances regarding what can go into Plus, but even with such stipulations, the subscribers should never be made to feel as though their subscription holds less value due to regional differences. If there are certain games US cannot get due to legal issues, fill in the gap with more of something else. More features that matter, or free movie rentals (brainstorming).

I know the Plus team is hard at work trying put great content in front of us (even if it isn’t content we want sometimes). Perhaps some CONSTRUCTIVE dialogue will help matters more than saying “This sucks”.

Thanks to the Plus team and best wishes to all my fellow gamers.

  • @ JoeGoodsnake (#306) Don’t know if this is “official” enough for you but read Morgan’s reply to post andregynBR (#63). So it shows they are aware that there are differences between the different regions’ games, but like I (and numerous other users before me) have said, there is surely a reason why. I’m sure Sony doesn’t just blindly throws darts at a board to choose there game for the week. Plus (pun intended lol) it seems many here are forgetting that they are getting exactly what they’re asking for…more EU games. This, just like other Darksiders and other, games were part of EU’s IGC so I don’t see why it’s a problem now that we’re getting them.
