Great news today from Music Unlimited – the 18 million song streaming service wired directly to your PlayStation devices. We’ve heard your requests for more dedicated genre stations, and we’re excited to have just released the Game Music channel.

Listen to an archive of game soundtracks, from massive blockbusters to cult classics including Assassins Creed, Silent Hill, Prince of Persia, Final Fantasy and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, among others. New songs will be added weekly to keep the channel fresh with music from all the latest games.

Over the coming weeks you can look forward to thirteen additional channels for other requested genres, like Old School Hip-Hop and New Wave.

Outside of the channels, we can tell a lot of you were watching the Grammys, as there have been big bumps in plays this week for The Lumineers, Frank Ocean, Rihanna and others. The top of our charts remains a hip-hop battle between A$AP Rocky and Macklemore. If you’re not a subscriber yet, don’t miss out and sign up for a free 60 day trial. Go to the MUSIC category on the XMB Menu and select Music Unlimited, or search for us by name in the PlayStation Store.

  • Game music when not playing a game? That’s just crazy. Who’s wanting this? With free options such as Pandora and I Heart Radio I can’t see paying money to listen to music. over the air radio has been free for as long as I can remember and has never let me down, and never needed updating either. This is just a waste of a service if you ask me. [Money grab much?] But maybe I have other things to do than to sit on my rump all day paying for what should be FREE! It’s crap like this that create fat kids with no life.

  • AWESOME!! Now I feel I’ve well invested in Sony Music (when it was really cheap). Wow, I just subscribed to the Nobuo Uematsu Music channel! ^_^ EPIC!! Thanks a lot!

NOW: Just let iphone users dowload the music on their phones too like on android with the app!! I’d download all the Nobuo channel! ^_^

  • I REALLY HOPE SOON AN UPDATE WILL COME FIXING THE ISSUE THAT I CAN’T USE THE APP ON THE PS3 AND ON THE VITA AT THE SAME TIME. LETS SAY IM ON THE GO LISTENING MUSIC BUT THEN THE KIDS AT HOME WANT TO LISTEN MUSIC TOO THEN THE APP CLOSES. SO PLEASE FIX THAT ISSUE IS VERY FRUSTRATING NOT BEING ABLE TO USE THE APP WHENEVER WE WANT TO IN BOTH DEVICES

  • Didn’t think there were any representatives responding to feedback! It’s probably late now, but is there any works on a PC app for music unlimited, similar to that of Spotify? I find the web browser a bit slow, with12Mbps internet speed (I know, that is not much in speed compared to 50+Mbps internet plans), but it just seems too slow and dull via the web browser. The Spotify PC app is neat, easy to use, and way faster. Any who, I only ask, ’cause i still have time on the one year subscription.
