As already said, Vanquish has been updated and is now free for Plus members.

  • @ eeveesaur

Sounds like the update wasn’t the culprit if all that other stuff happened first.

Were you updating to the latest firmware (4.31) for the first time?

  • @447

Umm Gaming websites of course. I could name a few but I think it’s against the rules advertising another website on here. Hit up a major search engine to find what you need to know.

  • Yeah it must be in the middle of the update right now. I just grabbed Mega Man Maverick Hunter X as it is showing free for plus users now and Urban Trial Freestyle can be downloaded for both platforms at it’s discounted price if you use the search engine.

  • This issue makes me think that at the very last moment something legal came out, maybe platinum games disagree with some terms with Sony , I just dont know what’s going on, this is by far the longest await for a playstation plus update ! ! !

  • where is the update? *runs in circles* ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • long wait for update way yes it is

  • @447
I saw nothing online of rumors of a switch from current format to a new Gold type version.
I would not take anything off the web as being true, Only Sony can state any changes that would hold any merit.

  • I think we should ask for something else due to this failure from Sony, how about Sleeping Dogs ! ! ! ! yei yei ! !

  • just do search for what you want i have been downloading vanquished for over 30min….

  • I’m already downloading all freebies from this update! Yay!! Still updating i guess as it’s not still showing in main screen!

  • The updates are there, just search them. Downloading Urban Freestyle now!

  • hearthfire’s UP!

  • Woops, late to the party I see…

  • It’s thereeeee ! ! Vanquish ! !, use the search option and u’ll find it ! ! !

  • Now it shows up. Won’t be playing this until tomorrow.

  • @ PrimeroIncognito No I don’t believe so – the system was already on 4.31. The actual update itself was prompted when I tried to start up the LBP2 disc again, the update itself said it was for Little Big Planet 2 and was about 1000 MB. Thought it must have been the PS+ update, since I knew it was the right time and date for that, but it’s very possible it was caused by LBP2. Just as possible that it’s the system malfunctioning. Don’t know.

  • I’m glad I put a 1TB HDD in my PS3 because all of these Free Full PS3 games are starting to add up. I have used a little over 500GB already!

  • I can purchase Patapon 3 on my Vita but I am unable to download it on my Vita

  • @eeveesaur

Yeah, it sounds like you’ve just had some misfortune here. Seems like your console just decided to flop for whatever reason. It’s not the firmware if you already had it, I doubt it’s the update, and it’s obviously not LBP2… so, I think it’s just bad luck. :(

This kinda stuff is exactly what I’m worried about happening to me, that’s why I’m going to be signing up for Plus real soon so I can use the cloud.

Hope you get it all worked out.

  • its 10:57 pm eastern time tuesday wheres the awesome update

  • You have to search for the games individually, by name, and they’re there…

  • @ PrimeroIncognito I feel so bad for my little brother, all the game data stuff – poof! Really seemed like some sort of glitch somewhere. I know there was a LBPK update today, I don’t see why that would affect LBP2 or whatever the hell. Gonna call tomorrow and see what’s up.

I’m not too keen on cloud services (even though I have PS+ on my other account I don’t use it) because who knows when my internet is gonna go down (east coast – crazy storms!) or when the server goes down. Plus, if it’s anything like XBLA Gold and you stop paying your saves are locked up until you renew… But, I *do* always backup to a hard drive. Damn thing managed to not restore from that backup and corrupted that too. Something weird went down.

Thanks, for hearing me out, though! :D

  • ok so the up date is in now but the dust 514 starter pack thats free for plus is charging 9.99 for it

  • I was wondering why the purchase option no longer appears when I want to get free content ? For example, if I want to purchase content that is currently free for Plus members but don’t want to actually download it right now. There is no purchase tab anymore and has been changed to a “Download”.

While I understand this was probably done to streamline the process so people didn’t have to take an extra step and checkout from the cart. However, for people like me that wanted to have the content registered to my account before it expires and download at a future date when I had enough hard drive space available, it is frustrating. I don’t see where I have the option to do this other than canceling an automatic download that has already started and with some small download files, this can be difficult to do in time.

Only work around I have found is by purchasing online at https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com but I would prefer to be able to do this right from my PS3.

Hopefully someone reads this and can add a feature that adds a download and purchase tab to free content. That way users can decide which they want to do.
    Thanks.

  • Vanquish is an amazing game! And if you’re looking for suggestions for PSN titles in the future, 3D Dot Game Heroes would be a great addition!

  • Thats it. not going to renew my membership until something worthy comes out…

These old games just arnt cutting it..

Not to mention EU members have gotten some pretty nifty stuff the past few months but we get crap.

Vanquish is ok and all.. but really.. come on.

  • Damn! so many comments!.

  • Nice game, played it before and will be giving it another go! Would like to see Way of the Samurai series coming up too. Is it even possible? xD

  • For some reason when i click on the Dust 514 starter pack in the store it goes back to $9.99 when its added to my cart

  • @Haro.

So Vanquish is awesome!! Great update, also did you know PSN is giving out free money? Just checked my messages and i got 10$. But thanks for the amazing game!!

  • @eeveesaur

You might want to be be careful with that Primero guy. He’s extremely insecure. I’ve been down that road with him already. If you make a point he doesn’t like, he’ll start attacking your personality or something similar. He’s got a real bad habit of not only acting like he speaks for everyone, but also reflecting his own negative characteristics onto others, and he’s also unable to recognize his own faults. Proceed with caution.

  • Vanquish, nice! I’ve already got the game, but it’s a great addition to the PS+ collection. Also, THANK YOU (you have no idea) for Mega Man Maverick Hunter X! What a great PSP game! Though I have it on UMD, I can now add it to my VITA thanks to Playstation +!

Don’t let any negativity swat at you or the staff behind the program, Morgan; you guys are doing a great job with what you’ve got!

  • @ghost4512

yeah, they gave me a $10 voucher last year. only $10 but still beats a sharp stick in the eye :)

  • Great addition! I’ve only played the first part so far, but, this game has SEGA written all over it. The added dust pack is very sweet as well!

  • huh vanquish ,? I got the game from PsPlus a month ago???!!

  • My point has been proven yet again…

  • @eeveesaur

You probably won’t see this, nor may you even care, but just in case, you should know that everything that stalker/hater up there just said about me was a copy and paste job of my exact words about him in a previous post. As you can see, he lived up to everything I said about him… the idiot proved me right and continues to shoot himself in the foot. He keeps following me around, and when he posts, it’s always something about me. I have no clue why he’s so obsessed with me. My only theory at this point is that he’s jealous of my intelligence, that he desperately wishes he had.

    Oh well.

  • Hehe, how desperate you are. I am perfectly happy with with my level of intellect. Whether or not you are smarter than me doesn’t matter to me in the least, though you have yet to prove it one way or the other. Yes I copied it word for word, (mostly) It really sucks when people spread lies about you to other people, doesn’t it? Though I really suspect that everything that you say about other ppl are things that others have accused you of at one point or the other.
When you finally stop, so will I. Until then, get used to it, ’cause I always give as well as I get, trollette

  • A problem and a question here

    The problem

First, how big is vanquish? The download says 12 GB. My hard drive says I have 21 GB left but when I go to download Vanquish it says I do not have enough space available for it.

    The question

A gamer friend of mine was telling me about the $10 voucher that he received from PSN thanking him a fan and a loyal user and he received an auto code to claim $10 credit. Was this credit supposed to go to everyone or just a random few?

  • BRAVO morgan, tell the team I said BRAVO! hah Vanquish is not the type I’d go for but I like it, I like it a lot.

  • @bcduggan – There has to be space left for other stuff I’m assuming.

  • Oh and yeah it’s only 12gb

  • @492/493

    Here is the simple problem

21-12 is 9. I would have 9 GB left of space after downloading it.

My wife’s PS3 has less than 3 GB of space left on it and she can still download stuff as needed withing the space left.

  • Vanquish is a really good game so good to see that was finally put in the lineup…….

However, here are the upcoming instant games lineup for EU PS plus for march…..

Entering EU PS Plus in March:

    6th March: Mass Effect 3
6th March: Dead or Alive 5
    6th March: Joe Danger 2
13th March: Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
    20th March: Puddle

  • 6th March: Mass Effect 3
6th March: Dead or Alive 5
13th March: Metal Gear Solid HD Collection

this is really nice… for EU…. anyway I downloaded DoA5 pack already and I know this will never be in US psn, so no harm done, let’s hope for something as good as EU psn+ games next week… but I think we have been doing that since last year…

  • Ty Psn US for all the games i have been able to play since i became Plus, but to be honest the EU Plus this month ( Mass Effect 3, DOA 5, MGS HD,etc) is far better that anything i have seen on US Plus since i became a member. My Plus service expires today so i wont be renewing US service, am going EU.

Maybe someday the US service will get better offers and you will see me again here. Bye ;)

  • Already subscribed to EU plus service, downloaded sleeping dogs, motor storm apocalypse, f1 racers

  • Looks like I got banned for promoting too much truth.

Not that easy to ban me, I will continue to create new IDs and will continue come back here and post the reasons why SCEA is doing a poor job. As a matter of fact, because you’ve successfully pissed me off by attempting to ban me, let’s add some salt in the wound of comparison to EU.

We can do this easily, by simply comparing last year’s February update on SCEA to this year’s. These are the games that were offered as free rentals last year in February for us:

Far Cry 2 – 2/14 (V-Day Special One Week Offer)

The Simpsons Arcade Game – 2/7
    Sega Genesis Bundle – 2/21
    Altered Beast – 2/21
    Comix Zone – 2/21
    Golden Axe – 2/21
    Sonic 1 – 2/21
    Sonic 2 – 2/21
    Streets of Rage 2 – 2/21
    Battle Fantasia – 2/14
    Fatal Inertia – 2/14
    Hamsterball – 2/14
    Inferno Pool – 2/7
Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom – 2/14
Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars – 2/14

    Hungry Giraffe – 2/7
    Gold Medalist – 2/7

    Final Fantasy V – 2/7

All those games were free last year during February for PS Plus NA. What the hell happened?

  • Lke alot of others. I just saw the line up for PS+ for EU. I’m loving PS+ so far, so don’t think I’m just griping. However, if our March doesn’t have at least 1 game as good as Mass Effect 3, DoA5 or Metal Gear collection. I am going to be severely disappointed. I’m not sure what the difference between EU and US makes such a difference in the quality of games. The month of March however could make alot of US PS+ subscribers really sore if we get stuck with weak titles.
