  • Vanquish is an Awesome game…… To bad its story line is a steaming pile of crap, platinum needs better writers.

    • eh, it’s like saying The Expendables needs better writing. Story is there to move things along, but it’s not the main attraction. At the very least, it gives a setting for amazing set pieces on space stations.

  • I already own Vanquish, but this is still a fantastic update for those who don’t. Easily one of the best hidden gems of this generation.

Mega Man’s the only thing for me this week. Looking forward to playing it!

  • Morgan anwser your customers, tell them the free game process, let them know about the publisher process, the meetings chooseing tons of great tittlles, and haveing more meetings etc ect. then waiting, then getting permission at the very last minute to post then release said tittles. Morgan I think its time so they know, Kaz would approve.
Thank You From your customer Ambassador to the Playstation Network online id:bombbreath Sony make.belive Its all about the customers dont loose sight of the companies goals. Keep up the good work Morgan , your doing fine. The boss is watching.

  • @149 REALLY?????? “just wait”???? You’re joking right? All we do is WAIT!!!! and SURPRISE…… we never get them.

  • When I heard this week’s Vita IGC was going to be a PSP title, I was a bit worried…but hot damn, Mega Man X! As a slightly “older” gamer, I have fond memories of the original MM games on NES. A few friends told me MMX is awesome, but I never played it. Now’s my chance! Only wish it was a true Vita title with trophies, but owell, still a solid addition to my Vita library!

  • Thanks for the awesome update. I can’t wait for Urban Trial Freestyle and the update to the IGC is great.

Sony is on a roll this week. From the SCEJ event this morning (evening in Japan) to what we will get in the IGC today. Can’t wait for Wendesday!

  • Amazing! Three weeks in a row of Plus games I don’t own/haven’t borrowed from a friend. Plus just may be turning a corner here, for the better.

Morgan, please find this out, not only for me, but for everyone that has pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition of God of War: Ascension.

Why has Sony Santa Monica replaced the awesome 8″ statue of Kratos for a comparatively lackluster in appearance and styling 6″ statue of Kratos instead?

It feels like a bait-and-switch tactic that is not representative whatsoever of the standard practice that Sony and the Playstation Brand is usually known for. Usually we get MORE/BETTER content for the same value, not LESS.

I didn’t pre-order the Collector’s Edition for the new, smaller statue, I preordered it for the much better looking 8″ statue.

Myself and everyone else would appreciate it if you could get us some answers from Sony Santa Monica, and thanks!

  • NICE! For several weeks there was nothing for me in Plus! Vanquish! Awesome! Great update!

  • @154 if its so ”last minute” as you say then why do other sites and blogs post upcoming games (correctly and consistently) days or sometimes weeks before it happens??? Don’t sound to ”last minute” to me!!!

  • i meant @153

  • What? And Sleeping Dogs? And Red Dead Redemption? And Mortal Kombat 9? And Motorstorm Apocalypse?

  • Ahhh, the streak is broken! I already own Vanquish.

But it is a great action game that didn’t get the attention it deserved. Hopefully getting Plus members to try it out will change that. Plus Mega Man for Vita/PSP?!? Awesome.

  • I was all disappointed after seeing Vanquish was the next game ( I’m not a fan of shooters) and then you go and throw Mega Man in. I love PS+!

  • yeeeeeeeessssssssssss

  • cool, great update!

  • A good game to add to Plus. Unfortunately for me I already own it and beat it last month. While it did have some fun to it I felt a little bored playing it. The credits do have a cool feature though.

I may download the Mega Man game but that’s a maybe. Hopefully something will come to Plus soon that I don’t have or I might want. With the last few months being bad for me I’m just not sure if I want to renew when my subscription expires. Plus has kind of become something that’s really not for me like it use to be. Who knows though maybe it’ll get better for me in the next coming weeks.

I will say good job on bringing something people have been asking for and making a lot of people happier.

  • Thats is a awesome update! Thanks!

  • Now thats a great update!! Good games, discount on a launch title… that’s the way to go sony, keep it up!
(and whinners will always be whinners, don’t worry about them)

  • Best Update since the 13 for 13 Deal

Great Job Morgan and Sony Plus Team.

  • Nice update, thanks!

  • Also…. why is no one working for PSP and PS3 play? take all those old PSP games and make them compatible to PS3 … that would make me and so many others so happy.

  • Thank you. Great update. Been wanting to play Vanquish for ages, but can’t find it any stores in town or the usual places I order online. Also the Mega Man and Dust 514 additions help make this one of the best updates I have seen in a while (not saying others were bad). Glad I have been a member of PS+ from the get go and that I re-upped PS+ again.

  • Sadly nothing for me. I only own a vita and i had maverick hunter x (really good and entertaining) on the psp a couple years back. Not enough for me to renew my plus which expires today. Rather wait till something worthwhile is dropped.

  • Lord knows how many hours I’ve spent with my old PSP playing Maverick Hunter X. I am so glad I can start over with it on my PSvita.
I never did like Vanquish that much, but im happy for everyone else who gets to try this.

  • my goodness. vanquish. still playing darksiders. thanks sony will get on it. also we would like to see more vita freebies as well. im sure on the 20. you guys will announce the vita price drop along with the stupid memory cards. dont even wanna go to class. but thank god its 6PM EST :D

  • This is a really good update if u never played Vanquish your in for a treat.Cant wait to play mm on vita. This update help with ur back log if u have alot of games.Shout out to Mr.Haro keep up the good work.? how bout psp beauty parasite eve 3rd birthday.

  • Steamboat, CO……12 inches of fresh powder homies!

Great start to the day, then pleased to see Vanquish as the freebie of the week. I don’t think this game is for necessarily for me but it should do well to please the masses….will try.

I also heard if you look closely at the EU Plus program it’s nothing but horsemeat.

I’m gonna go buy 3 PS3’s. Garnet Red, Classic White and Azurite Blue. I like my Plus.

  • People should be more excited for Maverick Hunter X! Seriously, folks didn’t buy it when it came out and there for it didn’t get a sequel. Rabble Rabble Rabble, but now if you guys have Plus…there’s NO EXCUSE!

  • @ morgan are we going to be getting any classic games any more? thats the one reason i bought my ps3 ad i found it cool that ps plus gave away for free some classics every now and then

  • Vaniquis + Urban freestyle.. this ps+ update is very nice :) thx

  • Any update on the oddworld strangers wrath hd ps vita discount that is suppose to happen for ps+ members?

It was mentioned that there is suppose to be a 25% discount coming up.

  • Liked the update pretty much, so thank you Morgan and team, I adhere to some other posts about getting an RPG, nothing in particular, just an RPG, would love spending endless hours going through a solid story and collecting items =) If thats not possible just yet, what about a racer? maybe for vita?

Thanks guys keep up the good work =)

  • LOL,

people are seriously saying this is a bad update because its copying EU?

    Talk about dumb..

  • Nothing for me this week, since I already played Vanquish on my EU account and since I own nearly all the Megaman Games (except the Battle Network games, I still have to try those). While the update did not hold up to the expectations that came from the EU update, I still think it’s a good attempt and the best attempt to please subscribers this month.

I’m going to choose not to vote this month as there is no option to commend the update but still state that there was nothing for me. Better not to skew the vote by voting for something that doesn’t represent my reaction.

  • @logikclay

I’m -extremely- interested in knowing what sites you get those earlier updates from. It would save me a lot of headache for a full month to know the updates ahead of time. Care to share your sources by any chance?

  • Wow wow wow !!! Now thats what i call fresh air !! THANKS !!!!

  • See now this is an acceptable update to plus. Vanquish is a fun game and very overlooked. Now let’s just try to stick to this level of games or higher and no more of that art crap black and white garbage you tried to pass off as an update last week.

  • This is a fantastic update. Plus was definitely one of the best investments I made last year (along with my Vita) haha. I’d love some more PSP games though. Fate/Extra *hint hint* looks awesome (we could always use some more RPG love around here). Maverick Hunter X is a giant step in the right direction. Thanks again for the great update Sony! :)

  • Vanquish a great game but I already own it. Bought it when it was on sale month ago. Little angry how you folks at Sony draw people in to buying a games that is on sale then a month later its FREE for PS PLUS. This is like the 3 time this happen. “Let put a game on sale then a month later we give it for free on PS PLUS”. Also its a very old game and EU again just does everything better then US. Sad, very sad !!!

There are over 1000 and 1000s of games on PS3 and it seem you only give us useless PSN games, games that be on sales and / or very very old games that no on cares about.

  • @ZaGe-zAiKaNo

Yeah, me too. Hopefully they’ll do what they did for this update again, remove two games and provide two games. One for PS3, and one for Vita, typically I like this. If one game sucks, (which I usually find something to like about all games) there will be the other game to be glad about. That or we can have a cross-play title so everyone is happy.

  • @nolo451

I know right! First they complain EU gets better content, now that we get something they’ve gotten before they’re complaining again. Just appreciate you gotten something on EU’s level, which you’ve been crying about for so long in updates, and play the game, simple.

  • F YES! Maverick Hunter X is an amazing remake of Mega Man X. Capcom need to get off there lazy A’s and make a sequel.

JUST 2 MORE DAYS!!!! LETS GO PS4!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great Update!!! i have played both games already but this update is very good.

Vanquish is one of the best TPS i have played, in fact it was nominated as one of the best games that ppl never played, the story is good, the combat is fast and exiting, there are huge bosses, a great game indeed, the weak point of this game is that there is no multiplayer/online game modes, for me, this was the reason this game wasnt a AAA hit because it have all that needs to be a great game. Great Update!!!

    Megaman Maverik Hunter X:

Ok… how i put this… if u are like me and u played the original one in your Snes, this game is gonna blow your @$%& mind!!!! is the same game we played but reloaded whit 3D models, remastered music and the same challenge that the original one. A True enjoyable game for new generations and an amazing reload for us Snes hardcore gamers ;)

Dust 514 is a good fps ( but not amazing) i have played it a couple times, but there are some details that needs to be reviewed ( it is still in beta i know) but there are some things like machine guns extreme long range and sniper rifle low damage that needs to be corrected.

Overall: Good – Very Good Update.

  • lol the only shooter that I actually want yay, but still another shooter seems odd. Weren’t rpgs at the top of the poll a few months back when you were asking what genre people wanted and we still haven’t got one that seems really weird to me, I know you can’t control all the psn+ content because of third parties but would it be so hard to throw a Sony owned ps1 rpg our way?

  • Meh, I guess I’ll give Vanquish a shot, even though it’s not really my cup of tea. The other releases this month are of zero interest to me. Seems to be getting a favorable response in general, though, so at least it appeals to some members.

I sure would appreciate a full-PS3 RPG (Amalur, Demons Souls, etc) — the fighters and shooters just fail to sustain my interest for long.

  • Vanquish! HELL YEAH!!!

  • @DeathKiller49 Makes me wonder if this post would have been any different – if Sony had offered Sleeping Dogs. Or would customers have said the US copied EU still.

  • @WAR0979 ,

Morgan don’t listen to this guy, I’m sure no one takes him seriously since he labels anything that resembles a “kids game” as crap, or anything he does not like.

Most of us fans have been content with February’s offerings. Closure was a nice little gem, glad I was able to play it for free.

  • OH well, it was about time. Thanks for the update and the effort.

  • Great looking game vanquish, how many gigs install is this? damn bandwith cap. Streetfighter ate alot…..
