  • @97 ran into the same issue. just hope it didn’t charge me for anything. Shouldn’t since i deleted my card info before i decided to download it. But you never know with Sony.

  • Meh. Nothin’ for me.

I won’t complain about the update time, since the service is free. Oh, Microsoft updates in a consistent, timely fashion? Well, that’s why Microsoft charges you money for that online service.

My focus is on the “big news” coming tomorrow, anyway.

  • @53 Its always about licensing. I came from xbox after 5 years.

Wonderbook: Book of Spells Dynamic Theme (FREE)
I find it funny that I gotten a code in an email back in November to get this theme. I couldn’t download while I was on Plus; when it expired, I was able to download it last month.

  • Would have been nice to know that you guys weregoing to add patapon 3 for the vita before I got patapon 2. I feel screwed.

  • @72 Contact Playstation Support

  • The store is updated. If you think it’s not, that’s because the banners are changed 10 to 15 minutes after all the new content is added. You’ll have to search the store or look at the new releases section to find what you want.

  • This is ridiculous an update this late in the day someone should be fired for this or better yet hire more poeple to make the updating process smoother.

Suppose an hour from now I have an issue as a consumer and come to the blog to post a question it’s a little late to expect a response Wednesday morning for those of us on the east coast.

To think tomorrow is supposed to be a huge announcement hopefully its an announcement to fix this problem because you can’t be serious about going into the next generation with flaws like this.

  • I almost fell asleep waiting, last summer we were getting updates around 4PM my time (puerto RIco), but now we got it, nearly at midnight> seriously, i thought it was going to be a amazing fire seal where everything must be bought… but its just a SLOW week again… not one worthy game to buy, only Vanquish seems cool

  • Not seeing the Urban Trials demo.

  • When can we expect the rest of the PSP games that are Vita compatible to appear on the Vita store? I shouldn’t have to own a ps3 to play my PSP games on my Vita.

  • i see it

  • I like how the 50% off sale was still advertised today, then when I added Beyond Good & Evil HD to my cart it magically went from $4.99 to $9.99… before the update occurred.

Is there any way we can get you guys to stop ending the sales early? This isn’t the first time it’s happened.

  • @TitleOne: Dude, what the hell happened to you? Just a few weeks back you seemed like a decent enough dude and now you are acting like a typical Sony a$$kisser. Why? When did this turn of event happen because I thought you were a pretty stand up dude?

It really is justified to be a bit peeved about the inconsistent and sometimes (like this one) extremely late updates. SCEA are the only ones that are like this. Not only are the other competing consoles on a set time and 98% of the time are actually on time, but even the other regions for SONY are too. It’s only SCEA that’s all over the place and a complete mess with updates. It really doesn’t make much sense man.

  • Hi guys….

on the side note by the comments box is a lil note that says “open to everyone, but don’t be a jerk” and as a PlayStation enthusiast.. I felt/ feel like you guys don’t care about us….. Like effort is not being put forth to go above and beyond. Taking this late to update the blog and the store with no remorse or apology to avid fans that’s keeping you guys alive, complaints or not is mind boggling! I’m not some nerd in his moms basement, my girl was more excited about me trying vanquish than I was!

Then you go and apologize to one dude and said skip the rest… Like your more mad than we are. And we just want to BUY stuff… This really turned me off man… Which is sad because I love PlayStation. Whatever man…

P.s you won’t hear from me ever again, don’t worry about it..

  • awesome CRYSIS 3 great update

  • @Aranethon(112)

The store was probably in the process of updating when you tried to buy it. The banners ads on the PS3 don’t display the updated prices, but the actual price shows up on the game’s page.

  • @Daverost same thing happened to me. I also checked my download list to see if it shows up there but it doesn’t.

@PS Store team On the other hand, the ‘Pick a version’ thing for the Dust 514 DLC is the perfect way of how “free” PS Plus content should be addressed. Those that want the content for free can choose that option, and others who want to buy (and keep) it can choose that option.

  • I’m having the same problem as post 97.

The free DUST DLC is nowhere in my downloads list and every time I try to access it from the store it wants me to pay $10 for it.

  • Same as 118 & 97
    :(

  • and here i was hoping it was a patapon remake :( where is patapon 4?

  • Just pretend the store updates on Wednesday and then it will always be on time. Some of you guys get a little too crazy over these late updates.
Also who cares if the update is late today. Don’t you guys know what tomorrow is? 2/20/2013!!!!!!!
The future of PlayStation is almost here!! Super stoked!

  • Sevyne,

Some people here act as if they have a set time the store updates. Unless I missed something, I don’t recall that.

Its just dumb how some are calling for someone;s head over an update. Not sure if you agree with me on that, but cmon. They update on Tuesdays and last I checked it was still Tuesday when the store went live. Even if it didn’t is it really necessary to say stuff like how someone is going to switch to xbox(even though they ave been saying that for what seems like the last 4 weeks)

If someone says something utterly stupid, I like to call them out on it. You see that as me being a fanboy, then so be it unfortunately.

If they stated that updates would go live at a certain time of the day, THEN maybe I could justify the anger, heck even I might join in too, but then again my life does not revolve around a store update, so who knows.

I just have a pet peeve over people making a huge fuss over stuff like this, to the point where they start saying the dumbest things.

  • Wow people are taking this late store update way too seriously. Really, put out a formal apology because the update (which doesn’t have a set time) was late? At least it came out today (Tuesday) like it’s supposed to. I mean I’d be happy if it updated earlier too, but I’m not gonna go boycott their products because it didn’t. Sheesh : \

  • So I had a problem with the PS Plus Dust 514 Starter Pack. I sent it to my cart and it said to choose which version, so I chose the free version, but when I went to my cart it was gone. When I entered the store again, it says that it’s $9.99 under the PS Plus section. Is something wrong here?

  • Please add DRAGON QUEST VIII JOURNEY OF THE CURSED KING to the PS2 Classics!

  • dust 514 starter pack free for plus mem. charges you 9.99 when you click on it thanks

  • @TitleOne: No I agree that calling for someone’s head over it is ridiculous, but you were being equally ridiculous by being insulting and belittling people as well and even to people who just want to know why this is the case that aren’t trying to cause problems. That would make you no better than those people now wouldn’t it? This is why I ask “what happened?” because you just didn’t seem the type to me from previous blogposts, but perhaps you’re just in a bad mood or something? I know I have my moments too, but I just noticed it and had to point it out.

  • Couldn’t dl the Dust 541 starter pack for some reason.

  • @125 (a1_re4). I agree with you but you have to go ask Square Enix for that, bro. Sony can’t force them to make it a PS2 classic.

  • A lot of you people need to chill out, if Sony doesn’t get the PlayStation Store updated at a specific time you guys go nuts. It’s not a big deal, just get your PS goodness the next day, if some games are free or on sale for one week you have the whole week to purchase them. Also, look at all the content they put up…that takes time to upload.

Give Sony a break, they’re doing an amazing job in my opinion …I’ve had the crapbox and all they gave me was the run around so I sold it and bought my Vita last year…best thing I ever did. The box doesn’t even make a half descent DVD player.

Awesome update Sony as always…doing a massive download :) thanks so much for all your hard work.

    Can’t wait for tomorrow night!!
    #playstation2013

  • NO WAY, LBP2 CAME OUT FOR VITA!? jk, just pointin out the typo

  • @119 & @128

I don’t feel like checking at the moment, but I think that is one-time use DLC, so even though you ‘bought’ it for free, it’ll still allow you to buy it again.

If you have these items in game, you have the Starter pack:

    7-day Active Booster
20x of each ‘Neo’ Assault, Scout, and Heavy Type-I Dropsuit
    2,000 AUR

  • I think, we should give it a rest for what’s left of today.

Until Sony can legitimately notify that the update issues have been fixed (which i hope are on it as i speak). Despite some people trying to download & play their games, we should get ready for tomorrow ^__^

There’s been enough disappointments for one day with the 2013 awards.

  • @ Sevyne,

    Bad mood I guess.

As soon as someone posts something so dumb, I can’t help it. For one thing, that same guy comes here on almost every topic making the same dumb comment about how he’s decided he’s going to switch to the next gen Xbox because supposedly according to him PS+ sucks (yeah, I bet paying for Xbox live to play is so much better) and then making the same empty threat again tonight. I know he’s just a troll and should just ignore him (maybe one day they’ll add an ignore button).

But I mean, geeze, some people on here act as if their life depends on an update. You can tell they need to lay off the video games for a bit if something like a later than normal update gets them so riled up.

  • Why do you guys insist on keeping the prices of PSP content so expensive and overpriced and never lower price? PSP is a 2004 console and PSVita and PS3 get free games and content, discounts and sales on all content but PSP doesn’t. PSP games new at retail are $10 and under with a few exceptions that are $10-20. Even the smaller PSN games are really overpriced and expensive. I would love to buy PSN games but they are way to expensive and overpriced.

  • For those people complaining about the people complaining about the update, here’s why…

    A. Its a big release Tuesday, with Metal Gear and Crysis 3… So for those that purchased them digitally, they’ll be downloading throughout the night, instead of playing their newly pre-paid game.

    B. PlayStation Plus finally has a great game in the IGC, so people are finally anxious to get it, but alas, they’ll be downloading their new game throughout the night as well instead of playing. 12 GB by the way.

    C. It’s the day before SONY unveils the future of gaming, yet they are having trouble with the current state of gaming! In an all digital future filled with downloads, social media and account connections, it doesn’t bode well for them.

    D. The individuals who “complain” here on the blog, yes, they may be avid, but they ARE avid. Meaning, these are the people buying from the store every week, consistently. So, they are entitled to complain, for they are the reason the store exists and makes a profit. Money Talks, Bull$4!7 Walks.

  • Fortunately there wasn’t anything I cared about in this weeks update…. Rising was retail only so yeah hehe but for me it isn’t the late update that bothers me so much as the fact that they don’t bother to let us know. “Sorry, the update is gonna be a little late this week.” That’s all they’d have to say and I’d have no problems with it… but yeah, I still say the ideal solution is to upload everything on Monday and have the update go live @ midnight. I still don’t understand why they don’t do that

  • I thought that Urban Trials was going to have a demo for the PS3 version. At least that is what ‘the drop’ said. I will not get a game like this without trying it out first to see if Ilike the controls/physics of the game.

  • Hey Insomniac, I’m pretty sure you said Ratchet and Clank Full Frontal Assault would be on Vita by late January, but here we are February 19 and still nothing… Really disappointed. And I would love to see some Spyro on the Vita just like the other guy said.

  • @Squirtbot,

So if you are a paying customer(as I am, about $400+ so far this year with me and my brother combined) you are entitled to act like rude customers at Target yelling at the cashiers and wanting them to lose their job, got it!

Guess I must be showing some sort of rare restraint since I don’t feel like I need to call for people to get fired and acting as if my life depends on an update.

For the record, most of my issues are with some of these people who taking the late update to the extreme. Its one thing to be a little frustrated, I get that, but a bunch of the people here unhappy with it are kind of not right in the head a little, acting as if the update doesn’t update in the afternoon/early evening, then Sony LIED to them!

Yesterday was President’s Day and tomorrow is a big day for Sony, some I’m cutting them some slack here, even though they still followed through with the Tuesday update commitment.

  • @136 I was actually expecting them to update the store after tomorrows reveal.

  • MGS Rising not digital? oh noo…

  • There’s probably a lot of preparation underway for the huge press conference tomorrow so I understand the late update tonight. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings us (if I’m not too busy playing Vanquish, that is).

  • Gotta hand it to Morgan, he has the patience of a God to put up with all the A-Holes that post in the comments section! Cause honestly who cares if the store updates later, play something while you wait! So easy. Also, the PS Store preview has been up on playstation lifestyle.com all week, so everyone knows what’s coming! So pretty impossible to be “disappointed” with any update cause something you wanted didn’t release yet.

Honestly, gotta salute ya Morgan as well as any other store members answering questions. Patience of the Gods!

  • @101 Oh, I wonder what you mean by that…lol
Also, first your avatar is CPU Rom, now CPU Ram? Who’s next, Iffy’s best friend, Compa? (Lol, you don’t have to actually answer that.)

    #PS2013 FTW!

  • “At PlayStation.. Wednesday is the new Tuesday!” :)

WHY is there no PS3 demo (or TRIAL) for Urban Trials Freestyle…
I was all set to play the demo and probably buy it, but NOPE.. I’m not buying this until I play it first.

Gameplay can make or break this type of game and you have NO CLUE how it is by watching a video.
We need demos for this sort of thing!

And to rub it in you offer a Vita demo?! Doesn’t compute.

  • I always defend SCEA on the PS+ games, the sales, the EU vs NA issue, but these store update times are just terrible.

You guys want us to buy digitally, it’s the only way you can control pricing, and we all know the PS5 will be digital only. You cannot expect us to buy in and feel good with this trend when the updates are so late.

Why would anyone buy Crysis 3 on PSN today? You MIGHT be done downloading it an hour from now, or you could have gone to a retail store last night and been playing the last 22 hours. You could have beaten the game 4 times by now.

I don’t care if you have to cut content, or push it back by a week, the store update has GOT to be more consistent, don’t give people a reason to not want a PS4. I love Playstation, I want you guys to be successful, but you can’t act like this is acceptable, the Tuesday update has GOT to be right around 1-2 AM, you have to take away any reason someone might opt to buy the competitor console.

  • While it is true that the late store update is not THAT big of a deal when compared to serious life issues, this is in fact a forum about the PlayStation network and as good a place as any to mention concerns. The fact of the matter is their (sonys) competitors (Microsoft/Nintendo) also have store updates. These stores update almost always on time every time and at a SET time. The expectation has been set. Without any reason or clarification as to why this is, the Sony consumer has a right to be unhappy with this. Remember, Sony is a company that solely exists to make money, and we are the consumer. We have every right to voice a concern on forum relating to this exact topic. Otherwise, I am happy to get Vanquish this week. Happy, not grateful.

  • did anyone else just get a message from psn that because we are loyal customers we get a 10 dollar voucher?

  • @dodgedoors:
Nope, but if you got one delete it ASAP… It’s SPAM.
Also, report the user that sent it to you.
