PlayStation Meeting 2013: it’s finally (almost) here! The festivities begin today, Wednesday February 20th starting at 6:00pm Eastern Time (3:00pm Pacific Time)… and you’ll be able to watch live right here from this humble PlayStation.Blog post. Set those bookmarks and timers!

-Loving everything that the OFFICIAL PS4 can do.

Now, hopefully they’ll explain more about how they’re bringing PS3 functionalities onto the PS4. That being, PSN accounts, trophies, PsHome & such for E3 2013.

Glad to hear Sony is unlocking remote play. There was some very cool stuff in that presentation. But for me personally the biggest selling point is going to be if remote play is truly universal. I’m going to wait and see if I can truly play any PS4 game on my Vita anywhere in the house, and better yet if I can play my digital ps3 collection through streaming to the Vita. I’m not pre-ordering on promises this time either.

I will admit, I’m basically buying every game that was shown BUT if there’s no Cross Game Chat I will be buying the new box also.
Makes no sense to not have Cross Game Chat.
It was the number one feature people wanted for the PS3.
And you don’t even breathe about it.
Will you be able to use the DS4 controller touch pad to type? e.g. write the letter on the touch pad and it recognizes the pattern and converts it to a character?
is it backwards compatible????
So excited, cant wait for the PS4 to come out. It’s gonna be better, faster, and more high tech. I don’t like the fact that they are probably gonna get rid of Used games for the PS4. But still great system, great games, and great improvements
@389, Thanks for the amazing revelation buddy. As if no one already knew that. The thing is… you won’t be playing any Killzone, God of War, INFamous, Resistance, Uncharted, etc. games on your PC.
I’m not one for waiting out side of a store for anything, it’s amazing what people will do for the next generation of electronics but I understand why and this is the one device I would call in to work for a week and pitch a tent with a space heater and live off of fast food for.
The live stream is awesome and what a great line up, Blizzard, Bungie and the rest of the greatest development companies are all over this like a cheap suit and I can’t wait to dump out my wallet to get my hands on all of it.
It all sounds great, I just hope that it’s all on the level and has a reasonable price tag.

I Don’t Want A PS4 Yet !!!!! Sony said the PS3 would be the counsel for the next 10 years, with no new counsel released for those 10 years. not 7 years later and now we upgrade? WTF. Some people i know just got into PS3 and now they might as well just stop buying games for it already and start saving for a PS4.?! I got my Ps3 5 years ago and plan on playing it for the next 5. SO NO PS4 FOR ME. Talk to me in 3-5 years i might feel that its worth it then.
Do they have any pictures of the actual console released yet? That’s the one thing I haven’t seen yet and would like to see.

Wow. I am excited!! I can’t wait to see what the PS4 looks like, I also can’t wait to get one in my hands!!!
I think they are waiting to release photos of it at a later date. We still have E3 coming up and PAX. I would imagine we’ll probably see the console at E3 as it nears down to the fall release for the console. I’m surprised they even said how much ram it had, I would have thought they would keep that under wraps a bit longer until Microsoft announced what’s going to be in the Xbox. Either way, this is great news and I’m very excited to see what’s to come in the next few months.
For the ones that feel like they are ousting the ps3 too soon, the ps3 isn’t dead yet. Look how long they supported the ps2! Games for the ps2 came out up until last year. So there’s no doubt that the ps3 still has life left. Don’t worry about it!
PS4 looks amazing. I really think Sony is on a roll now. I hope this pulls them out of the red and everything is a success for you guys!
Those were some ridiculous specs statements…
“like a PC, but supercharged.” – only it’s more like a low-end cheapo PC…
“It uses APU technology and GDDR5 memory, which is typically reserved for “top of the line, high end graphics cards.” – except GDDR5 has been used in everything from low-end graphics cards for YEARS now, including my years old now low-end cheapo discontinued XFX 6790…
The sad fact is the rumors were true, the PS4 is nothing but a low-end PC specs-wise, still slightly better than a PS3, but nothing to get super-excited about if you want your next-gen games to actually LOOK next-gen…

@ syk1288: They gave away Cross-Game Chat during the Knack demo. They specifically said you’d be able to chat with people who were watching you play, even if they were playing a different game. It’s in there. Don’t worry. :)

What!? No Vita price drop? Seriously Sony? Why does Japan get one but not us? I actually thought I was going to be buying a Vita this week but there’s no way I’m paying the same price for a handheld system with no memory than I paid for a home console with a huge hard drive. Oh, and thanks for the $10 that you didn’t give me but you gave almost everybody else.

wow. some of the things it can do seem unbelievable. what about a release date, price, or appearance?
also, what do you guys think of the PS4 specs? pc gamers often rag on consoles by saying “consoles are just simple computers.” it seems like the PS4 has computer-like stuff now.

It’ll be good if there are a few games not targeted at 15-year-old boys. Most of these might have been fun years ago, when I was 15.
