PSN March Savings: Get $10 For Every $50 Spent

PromoMoney_SEN-H_3

What a start we’ve had to 2013! We here at PlayStation Network have no intention of slowing down anytime soon, and we have a great new promotion and a number of great digital titles coming your way starting next month.

Starting February 26 and throughout the month of March, we’ll be offering you the chance to get $10 back for EVERY $50 you spend using your SEN Wallet! This means that if you spent $100 you’d receive $20 back at the end in April. Everything from games, movies and TV shows — anything that accepts SEN Wallet funds — is fair game. If you were thinking of subscribing to PlayStation Plus, now’s a great time to do it. Grab the 1-year membership for $49.99 to get the most of your PSN experience, plus a little extra cash back.

We also have a number of brand new Day 1 Digital titles coming your way in March, and even better, they’re all available for pre-order starting tomorrow, February 26! Pre-ordering the titles gets you a free theme, and a number of the titles come with additional pre-order bonuses for PSN buyers.

Grabbing these titles is a great way to take advantage of this promotion, as every $50 you spend counts toward getting $10 increments back in April. See below for the full list of titles:

    • Cool, thanks. Will definitely use the loyalty credit I got towards this. :)

    • this is cool, but I just renewed my PS+ subscription this weekend…would’ve waited if i had known this was coming…any chance it can count towards this promotion? Pretty please??? =)

    • this is great news … I’m going to snag your 3 month bonus for plus in the next day or two …. so in essence, the 15 months will be down to $40 when combined with this offering …. wow – great customer perks. thanks so much ! you guys really know how to up the ante & make things a no brainer …. it wasn’t in debate for me before I read about this … my son would never forgive me if we lost the plus perks … he still goes to load Back to the Future episodes – & that was a plus offering Christmas before last …. that update that offered the Marvel Pinball 4 pack is what lured me … & it hasn’t lapsed a day since ….

    • Been holding out renewing my PS+ with the 1 year sub, looks like it paid off!

    • Trust me when I tell you that I’m the LAST person to care about stuff not being backwards compatible on PS4. However, I completely understand when everyone else brings it up. I assume this loyalty program will take a big hit because of this very issue. I’d work on alleviating some concerns if I were you regarding BC.

    • ” If you were thinking of subscribing to PlayStation Plus, now’s a great time to do it. Grab the 1-year membership for $49.99 to get the most of your PSN experience, plus a little extra cash back.”

That’s a little misleading. I remember a similar promotion was happening a year or two ago. I was short a dollar, (or a few cents) of the required amount, so I didn’t receive any credit back. I even called PlayStation support to find out why and the guy tallied the total amount I had and said because I was just short of it, I didn’t qualify.

So if it’s $50 you have to spend, $49.99 probably isn’t going to cut it. You still have to spend that extra .01.

If you can still get the $10 with the 1 year PS+ membership, then please correct me. If not, then please, correct that statement made.

Now it would be stupid to just buy stuff to get the money back, so hopefully the things people purchase will be things they were going to get regardless if there was a promotion or not.

    • My sub is up in a month. But I do want those three free months. And now this deal pops up. I guess it’s time to re-up. I’m not thrilled about the games lineup. But at least I get something out of this deal.

    • nooooo I just bought persona golden (40 usd) 2 hours ago TT_TT

      • The deal runs from Feb 26, 12:01 am (PST) through Mar 1, 11:59pm (PST). So you should be good to go if your purchase was today after 12:01am (PST).

    • crap yesterday i renewed my PS+ subscription for $50 >.<

    • Wait so does this mean that Tomb Raider won’t be going digital? Sad face. Also this is awesome because my birthday is on Thursday and I plan on getting DmC, Dead Space 3, and hopefully Fall of Cybertron.

      • Hang on, Tomb Raider and more titles are very likely to be going digital in March. Stay tuned for more info on teh PS Blog. :)

    • I too renewed my PS+ last week. If I had waited till today, I could have gotten 15 months for $40 :(. Oh, well. I guess I will consider the $10 credit that I (and many others) found in their message box to be in lieu of that.

    • Will PlayStation Plus users be getting a discount?

      • This time the reward is for everyone. If you spend $50 with your SEN Wallet (on games, movies, subscriptions,…) from now through April 1, then we will send $10 reward through PS3 XMB Message and Email to your SEN/PSN account after the promotion period ends. If you spend $100 we will send $20, if you spend $150 we will spend $30, etc…

    • Does anybody know if tomb raider will be available digitally? I already have the funds in my wallet for it, but I’m not seeing it mentioned anywhere :/

    • No Tomb Raider day1 digital ??!

      :(

    • i will pre-order bioshock infinite and probably wait for the the spring sale.

    • This blends so well with the Vita Sales & the winning award game sales that’ll be up ina few hours.

People without the Plus service have a better chance at reaching that 50$ value due to Plus discounts being quite steep.

I’d say this is a win win for anyone really.

    • Hey, let’s mention these things before the day of.. I renewed my PlayStation Plus out of faith in the blog yesterday. I know, I know, call customer support, they take these things on a case by case basis. Seriously, why not say this on Monday? Like with the PlayStation Plus update, start the week with hey, ‘free’ money. This week has gone to the toilet already.

    • Nice, 3 days after I dropped 115 bucks in the store…thanks for that Sony.

    • Is the MLB pre-order incentive also count towards the Vita version? Please say yes =D

    • I refuse to buy anything from PSN until the PS4 comes out!!!! Since I wont be able to use/play them on the new PS4

      • Your choice, but we have interesting content coming out on PS3, PS Vita, and the more you spend through April 1, the bigger the face value of the code we will send you after the promotion to redeem in your SEN Wallet.

    • What about tomb raider?

    • getting that credit with Bioshock Infinite. Was hoping it was gonna be available digitally, thank you Soyny

    • Nothing worth spending 50$ on PSN until dead island riptide comes out.

Sony put dead island riptide for pre order on the store.

    • No God Of War:Ascension Digital version? :(

    • I’m sure Sony doesn’t intentionally try & take advantage of folks who just spent money that could have gone towards this promo … I intended all month to renew plus, but knew I had until the 4th to qualify …. maybe putting these things off to see what might be coming is a good idea …

GOW Ascension is not on the list for preorders – is it only available at retail ? just wondering, b/c with this deal, I would consider a digital purchase – going to check out the SP demo after the update, & a purchase may be in my future …

      • Stay tuned as more PS3 Full Games might make it to PSN in March. I suggest you come back to the PS Blog to see what’s new every week. :-)

    • Definitely going for the Bioshock Infinite preorder. Any idea when it’s gonna show up on the store?

    • Well depending on the winners possibly buying GTA, Borderlands 2, maybe Journey and The walking dead, Rainbow moon or duels of the planeswalkers. See when the store gets updated hopefully it will be a early update this week.

    • Niiiice. 15 months of PS+ for basically, $40. THANKS!

    • Too bad most of my gaming budget for march is already spent(on MH3U,twice). I do still have some cash in my wallet though so if you put up some good sales I might be able to take advantage of this.

    • More sales, more money. I was thinking of holding out on those Vita sales this week thinking some of the games I want may eventually come to PS Plus, but now this promotion might kill that idea. Time to add more Vita games to my backlog I guess! If I add up the games I want it comes to…$49.93 – D’oh! I’m sure there’s something else I can spend at least 7 cents on in the PS store.

    • Is Tomb Raider going to be on the PSN day 1?

    • Can you please clear this up for me?
      1. Does the “Get 1 year of plus, get a 3 month bonus” promo stack with this?
      2. If I spend $49.99 on a 1 year PS+ suscription do I have to somehow spend 1 cent more in order to complete de $50 and be elegible for this offer?

      Thanks

    • as G-Force08 was saying….
Grab the 1-year membership for $49.99 to get the most of your PSN experience, plus a little extra cash back

      THIS IS SOOOO MISLEADING

49.99 IS NOT 50 DOLLAR… SO HOW CAN WE GET A LITTLE EXTRA CASH BACK IF SOMEONE CARES TO EXPLAIN THIS……

      0.01 DOLLAR IS NEEDED,,,,,

if we were to purchase a1 year sub, it wont be enough to get that 10$ back….

kinda sucks… i would have gladly paid 50 dollar this month for ps plus to get it…

      • Yes, with a spent of $49.99 you would be elligible. As we have always done in teh past you won’t need to spend an extra $0.01to qualify. :-)
Please note that after the offer ends (Apr 2), we will send you a code through XMB Message if your account is set on PS3 and Email otherwise. The face value of the code will depend on your total spent with your SEN Wallet during the period of the offer (Feb 26 – Apr 1). Note that you can use your wallet for a lot mor ethan for games. You can buy/rent movies, tv shows, subscribe to Music Unlimited, etc… :-)

    • I just renewed my PS Plus membership 2 days ago! Is there a way to get that to count, refund and rebuy?

    • Nice I just renewed PSN+ last night, thanks Sony. On the other hand I wouldn’t buy anything on PSN anymore since A) Pricing is usually more expensive/ not competitive with retail and B) I’m still pissed off that my hundreds of dollars of purchases over the years don’t transfer to the PS4 but I guess I can just buy them over right?

It would be really nice if you guys could announce PSN+ downloads, sales, other promos AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MONTH instead of letting your customers pay more because they bought something the day before. Of course this just adds to the list of things requested by PS customers that you’ve ignored over the years like cross game chat, better remote play, backwards compatibility, etc

At this only further proves why Microsoft is number one on the current generation of consoles, you guys never get your acts together.

    • Time to refill my empty SEN wallet …

    • That’s a good idea. However, on this topic, allow me to narrate how Sony called me a liar.

Sony sent me a $10 voucher. I believe I get it because I recently bought Ni No Kuni (> $50). That’s really cool. Unfortunately, I could not redeem it because my PS3 crashed (light outage, not your fault).
Ok, the system started restoring itself (database) and *all* my received messages were gone. This was expected.

I requested a personal assistance explaining the issue and requesting: “Would you guys just re-send me the voucher? I thank you in advance!”

The response from an operator called “Richard”: We do apologize for this inconvenience. However, your account was not on the list of being sent a voucher.

Ok, I feel offended by that answer. What am I, a liar? Couldn’t Sony just re-sent the voucher? Just check my account history, can you?

    • Wait does the $49.99 count as the $50 or I have to play $50-$50.01?

    • Great deal!

Have a few questions about the ps4, what Internet speed is required for gaikai to allow us to have backwards compatiblity? As I’m still downloading vanquish as it hasn’t finished yet and only at 12%. or will there be a model with hardware included to be backwards compatible?

      Thank you for your time

    • PSN vouchers last week now another cashback offer for the next month, cool ideas, shame we never get stuff like this in Europe.

    • Tomb Raider isn’t coming digital? I wasn’t expecting this since Hitman: Absolution was up Day 1.

    • I just renewed my PS Plus subscription two days ago……can I get a refund? I spend tons on PSN, did not get $10 from last weeks giveaways…..

    • I’m buying Atelier Ayesha for sure :D

    • Finally time to renew plus and get Crysis 3, glad I didn’t buy them yesterday, and thanks Sony; keep the free money coming

    • goodness – you folks lamenting about the $49.99 not qualifying – break the bank – grab a 49 cent avatar …. spending the few cents more will net you the $10 back … sometimes people get so petty. Zen Pinball Star Wars tables come out today – snag that ….

    • Awesome promo, was already planning on re-upping my Plus subscription this week – and for anyone concerned about the extra $0.01 you’d need to spend to hit the $50 threshold, just tack on Retro/Grade for $2.44 – it’s a great game and more than worth it.

    • This just came to my mind & would appreciate an answer.

Do PlaystationHome purchases apply to this? That’d be great.

    • MLB 13 for the vita shall be mine. XD

    • @34 really good observation! I already renewed my sub but damn didn’t even think about that!

@38 if that is true then that really sucks! Unfortunately sometimes you need a photo proof for everything/

I might spend 50 bucks as they have an awards sale coming up. I know for a fact I’m buying the psp jrpg but hopefully ps all stars battle royale goes on sale!
