I knew you were gonna use that argument :) Ok to add to my point. I never said that serious gamers don’t have benefits of being a plus member. I was just saying why plus is designed primarily for casual gamers ( discounts, sales, giveaways etc.).
If you take Sony standpoint: “we want more people to buy games and consoles, we already have a fan base (hard core gamers ) that will buy this or that game and console, but how to approach to new costumer who is not hard core gamer?”
Solution: ” we create plus, give hard core gamers advanced options as they need it, and make sales and giveaways for casual gamers”
I hope this helps to clarify my opinion of plus and why I said stop complaining for plus giving free games that you already have or discounts and stuff :)

Morgan has said on the post for the $10 back off $50 that Sony considers the PS+ 1 year subscription $50 for this promotion.
Oh, been needing to chime in (though it might do better on the PS+ forums):
When I upped my subscription, (good ’til late January 2016; just over five years since I joined), my Download List’s dates changed again. Looking through that list, I realized that all my Plus-reliant content is having its purchase date changed to my most recent Plus subscription purchase. This is very inconvenient, since this subscription-reliant content is not kept in its original “purchase” order. Since there’s no way to search or organize the Download List, this just adds more confusion when trolling for downloads.

Dude you payed for many services with those 50$ a year, and like i said in my previous post if you are a hard core gamer you know that you are not part of a plus for sales discounts and stuff but for other more in depth functions that you need as a hard core gamer. And it is simple as hell, uncharted,gravity rush and wipeout alone are 100$ and they gave it to me for 50$, and not to mention many, many other games and discounts yet to come.
Why are you part of a golf club(ps plus) if you don’t like wholes and balls that they use (ps plus content)?
Why are you subscriber of Netflix if you don’t like the library that they have and never update it with content that you like?
Why do you keep paying your cable bill if you don’t like the channels they offer?
Answer: You would like to have all and everything your way and pay nothing for it to happen. ( Dream of us all! )
A few words of praise for PS+ and one gripe about Ubisoft.
The Plus updates have been great recently. I really enjoyed Spec Ops and I’m really looking forward to Joe Danger 2 (the first one was a lot of fun). I’ve been really happy with my decision to go with Plus since I took the leap in November (honestly, the Music Unlimited discount finally made me go for it) and you guys and gals keep on dropping so much goodness that it just makes me happier. So keep up the good work there!
Gripe- Am I the only one who is kind of upset about the fact that Ubisoft is charging Scott Pilgrim players for the ability to play online? Yes, I know that it includes a new DLC character, but if that’s what they’re charging for, it should be the same price as the Knives Chau DLC. They’re essentially charging 2-3 dollars more just to be able to play online, after people who enjoy the game have been waiting over two years for the ability to do so. (Note: I paid full price for SP when it was initially released, not as a PS+ freebie. So that may be why I’m a little irked.) And I know it’s only a few bucks, but it’s the principle. Charge for DLC, not the ability to play online with your friends.
Rayman and Lumines on sale for vita…. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET! By the way, what happen with the 3 week of the anniversary sale? How about ragnarok oddesy or DJ max.
dude I could care less about wipeout and all that I only own a ps3 not a vita or psp and when I pay for a service I expect it to be a good service and offer good items and if not I do not renew that service if Im not satisfied that’s all im saying is that when my sub runs out if im not satisfied then I will not renew and so far I have not been satisified

@154 & 155 I’ve noticed that as well, but the actual transaction dates did not change. Funny enough, when I left Plus, a theme that I had bought the same day (via code) appeared when Sonic 1 & 2 vanished.

Darksiders and Vanquish were good games. Spec Ops: The Line was another good add. Thanks for that PS+. One good game a month like these keeps me happy.

I agree with you there that you will drop subscription cause you don’t like it. But really I see no point in always complaining of how this game sucks or that game is not my game etc. The way I have seen it so far from November and on till today is that Sony will put on the plus what they can and want to put, no complain from us will make a difference. This is simple economy issue. They put up games on plus that are selling no more or they have struck a deal with the publisher in witch case someone is still making money. Or Sony is the maker and publisher of the game that they offer with plus but it can be for promotional purposes. And so fort.
I’m just saying our complaints here about a choice of games echo through the air and have little to none impact.
Believe it or not I have bought PS Vita feb 2012 solely for the NBA 2k13 and imagine my disappointment when I found out last year that there is no nba on vita, just psp port witch I already have :) You dust of stop bi.chn and make the best of the situation.
PS. for ps3 from creation of online web store on my pc I have been given 13 ps3 titles so far(1 month) way I heard it people were getting ps3 games on plus every week (1 to 3 games) for the past year or when plus started on ps3. I don’t own ps3 but still think that 13 titles for 50$ is sweet deal. And more surely to come.

I have played it and it’s a great game. FPS full of adult humor, and I mean adult. It is intended for old school guys like me who played the original Duke Nukem 3d. It is i no means graphically advanced like BF3 or any other FPS, nor it has realistic gameplay. But I guarantee that when you first see intro you will get hooked on bad ass duke :) I mean a tough guy who blasts alien with rpg says: “I’ve heard you got guts, lets see them” Whats not to like. Easy linear gameplay that requires no brain just for you to take gamepad and shoot stuff and see where the story goes.
@181 I bought it twice for 360 & PS3. Beat it on both once. I pretty much ignore the reviews and played the game. As for Duke3D, people are still playing it with custom maps and such. I have no idea if it’ll come to PSN.
When I bought Duke3D in 2010, I also bought Duke 1 & 2 as well. Those are side scrollers.

@ 184 yes you can buy ps plus with wallet money directly from psn store on your ps3,ps vita or pc. All you need is money in your wallet, witch you can get from psn prepaid cards, paypal, or credit card.

Im not trying to berate you or anything, but it really feels like bait and switch not having any vita bash sale this week. the banner add with toro toting a vita displays “new sales every week” … one would assume “every week” means the month of march and not the first two weeks of it. on a sidebar I am pleased very muchly by joe danger.

@185 I came up with The Dukenator on 3D realms forums in 2004 or 2005. I later joined Xbox Live as The Dukenator in 2007, PSN as The_Dukenator in 2009 (it was an older ps.com account from 2004 merged into PSN)
just for that fact that you are a duke fan I will add you as a friend on my vita if you don’t mind, I don’t have any multi-player games yet but when I get something it will be good to play against or with someone that likes Duke :)
You know I was at first excited to see Ubisoft game sale. But after going down the list I ask myself where the heck is assassins creed 1, 2, 3, brotherhood etc.. any of them. None of them were on the list. Ubisoft list of games on sale are ones no cares about right now. Come on If you are going to do a big sale from a publishers at least but some of the big names on sale as well. By the way this is going to be a weak time for ps +. Give us better deals for crying out load Europe gets much better deals than we do. We get one solid game a month and 6 or more pitiful mini games or average psn games. Europe they get 4 to 5 new Solid great retail games a month with none of this pitiful mini game crap. Stop it SONY GIVE US WHAT WE WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While my perspective is still somewhat different from yours, I get what your saying.
You do have valid points and I do hope Plus brings in new customers since I want Sony and gaming to do well for many years.
I did prefer the old format of Plus that I signed up for when it started so that certainly colours my view.
I would have dropped Plus if not for the Cloud saves (I like the Betas but they’re usually MP games). It’s also strange that NA Plus caters to cheap games and EU constantly has the newer games on sale as well as add ons.
I know we can’t get the same stuff exactly between regions, but other “Plus” members get much newer content for their discounts. It’s hard not to be bothered by that.
Regardless, you have good points to your post.
