2K and the development team at Firaxis Games are excited to announce the release of XCOM: Enemy Unknown for PlayStation 3 on PlayStation Network in North America and Brazil on Tuesday, April 9th! We hope the PlayStation community is ready to save Earth in a way they may have never experienced before.
As a lifelong PlayStation gamer, and a huge fan of PlayStation-bred squad-based tactical games like Final Fantasy Tactics, Valkyria Chronicles, Disgaea, and Vandal Hearts, I’m proud to have something fresh and so easily accessible within Sony’s amazing game catalog. If you missed XCOM: Enemy Unknown’s launch in October, this is a heck of an opportunity to see what the fuss has been about.
We’re humbled by the 18 Overall Game of the Year wins we’ve been awarded, but even cooler to us as game creators are the individual stories we hear from gamers regarding their play experience. In XCOM: Enemy Unknown, you’ll defend the world against a global alien onslaught, making epic decisions via your secret underground base, and then deploy your squads into heated battles against the universe’s nastiest aliens. Fear the Chyrssalid — you’ve been warned.
Who will you save Earth with? Family? Friends? Movie stars? Who will survive? And most importantly: are you good enough to win?

As a kid xcom destroyed me. As a 30something adult I feel like a kid playing Xcom but I also rule. :D One of my all time favorite games. Almost there for all the trophies. Just need to beat it on Ironman, an impossible mode and a couple playthroughs starting with different countries. Cannot wait to see what kind of expansion you folks have planned! Tempted to sell my physical copy just so I can play it off the HD. What the heck…..I’ll probably just keep it and buy the digital one so I can sleep with it next to me. :D FANTASTICO WORK! Also, not really sure who would be on it (does 2K own the rights?) but it’s a GD CRIME that the original XCOM is not on the store. Please, please, please make it happen if this is within your power. I liked the new XCOM, but it isn’t old XCOM.

It’s a great system, but the lack of any games for it makes it the most disappointing video gaming device since the Channel F. I basically spend $200+ for a paperweight that does nothing but sit and my desk and occasionally glow blue.

Would absolutely love having Xcom for the VIta. Never played the Console version but would MOST DEFINITELY buy it day one for the vita.
Came here to ask for a Vita version, expecting to be one of few. I’m surprised at how many people want it too lol.
Will buy day one if this comes to the Vita. I loved the demo on PS3 but unfortunately never got around to playing the full game. Only heard good things about this game.

I echo my support for a Vita version. So many of us adult gamers play as much or more while on the go as we do sitting at home so more great portable games are always appreciated and the Vita is an amazing gaming machine. Please consider it!
I bought the PC version at launch and I’m prepared to buy the Vita version on day 1 if it ever springs into existence. On that note, I’d buy pretty much any Firaxis strategy game for Vita; Civilization on the Vita’s touch screen would be grand.
We need a Vita Version, make this happen.

I’d like to add my support to the creation of a Vita version of this game. I’m playing it on PS3 at the moment and is an obvious fit for the Vita.

I would so buy a Vita version if it were available. I usually prefer playing strategy games on a portable device (Why I loved playing the Disgaea games and Jeanne D’arc on the PSP). Make it happen guys! =D

It is this type and caliber of a game that we Vita owners want so much to see more of. I just can’t express how badtasstical it would be if we could all enjoy this game on our Vitas!!!!!
At the very VERY least the Vita AND Sony would see a definite uptake in interest if this were to happen for the Vita… which is exactly the type of exposure the Vita needs right now. People I think are starting to look its way more and more.
