  • Better late than never, thanks !

  • This is why I don’t consider PSN for D1D. 1 your price is to high. You should not charge me $60 for the game. I’m not buying the disc and box, you don’t have to pay for manufacturing. Look at steam. Most games on there are $45-50. Second who knows when we’ll get it. If I buy from Gamestop I can guarantee it at 10am, if I buy from PSN, with the way you guys communicate with us, who knows if I’ll get it that month.

  • I know this might not be the right place to ask, but are there any news or planned announcements regarding Playstation All Stars? A LOT of people are waiting for any patches or dlc.

  • Offer a free game for the inconvinience!

  • thank god ive been dying to try soul sacrifice, and hey if nothing else at least morgans always herr for us

  • These unpredictable Store Updates need to stop guys, the PS4 is coming and something like this could be DISASTROUS for it’s launch and early adopters. Imagine the headlines. <3 Sony but we can't keep living like this. *Dramatic sigh*

  • what wud b NICE is if u actually discounted modnation racers the ps3 version of the game u did the psp whats up with not doing the ps3

  • How freaking hard is to set a deadline for the Store update. We have to check every ten minute just to guess if the store is up. That’s stupid and unprofessional. You have one week to set up the new store and you do it at last minute!

  • More then 1 day of delay for the update for 75% of CRAPPY THINGS AND OFFERS?!?!?!?!?!

    WTF SONY!!!

MORE THEN 5 YEARS OF THE PS3 LIFE CYCLE AND STILL SO POOR IN ONLINE SUPPORT? Your only good thing is PS+, if I did not have it, PSN store would be complete wasteland! The remodeling is such a waste making it sooooooooooooooo sloooooooooooooooow to do anythung in it.

Some comments talk about getting free PS+ mounth and another getting 10, 20$ PSN, are those people in Europe or Asia???? For me in Canada, I had no message by E-mail or PSN.

Sony, fire these lousy people that deal with the PSN updates and engage employees that know how to do it!!!

  • Thanks for the update guys.
Don’t let the naysayers get you down. Having to wait a day for some videogames to download is a first-world problem and far from the end of the world that some people are making it out to be.

I’ll just add my voice to the chorus and say I hope that Soul Sacrifice will be up for preorder on PSN soon. I just got my reward on that 10 for 50 deal and look forward to sinking it into that game.

  • @Morgan Haro, I think #22 wont be influence by the demo because he is already sold on it. It is how he is sold on it that is the issue. Digital (which many want) and Europe already allows or retail hard copy which will probably stop giving the preorder bonuses in a week or less. Europe PSN seems to have a extensive pre-order system, why not US :(. I would really like to see more PSN pre-order with bonuses like muramasa rebirth collectors edition. PS vita pushes digital format, yet US PSN not keeping up with digital preorders is even more reason just to stick with hard copies.

  • @Morgan Haro

“Sometimes there are things we can’t foresee, but all in all, we’re constantly working to minimize these frustrations, and not to mention that when and if they do happen, you guys are communicated with and kept up to date.”

    Seriously?

  • Glad you guys got the issues worked out. Now it’s Malicious time.

  • MORGAN,

Its quite ridiculous that the store isn’t simply pre-loaded on the servers then updated automatically or with a skeleton shift worker come midnight. This isn’t a difficult feat to accomplish, in fact, its how most large companies handle their data distribution. Absolutely atrocious with the Vita and PS4 supposedly offering a sleek, digital lifestyle. It doesn’t matter how good your box or games are if no one can access them or if the competitor (MS) does it better, remember that.

AND on the subject of digital negligence. WTF is happening with Soul Sacrifice? Europeans had a preorder option, why isn’t there one for the US? Or will the “pre-order” content be added with the digital copy automatically? In any event, this question has been asked hundreds to thousands of times on the PS Blog and you still don’t seem to have an answer. Find someone who DOES know what is happening with one of Sony’s ailing handhelds greatest releases and TELL the COMMUNITY.

  • Got a question. My Sony Music Unlimited Subscription hasn’t update yet and it expired 2 days ago, its set to renew automatically and it hasn’t

  • look, im your average joe whos been gaming for close to 25 years … the store update is late ONCE and less than 24 hours and you guys lose your minds like a bunch of cry babies.

im as hardcore of a gamer and sony fan as can be but man, lets get a grip.

Morgan does not run the internet. hes just the face of the store. give the man a break. go out for a minute.

    peace !

  • @97 god, you are such an idiot.

  • @82, shb23, I’ve read many of your comments so I know you are reasonable. I’m pretty sure the blog staff are under a multitude of gag orders and can’t even comment that they can’t comment. Like when the guys at Beyond talk about an embargo, but since they are not under Sony’s thumb Greg and Colin can at least mention an embargo.

As to pre-order bonuses, they do this every time and I’m sure they’re under a gag order, or aren’t told because their boss is under a gag order. The large retailers, namely GameStop and Amazon no doubt in the world are pressuring Sony not to compete with their pre-order sales so even if there are digital bonuses we won’t be told until the last second. That’s why I buy Vita games only at GameStop because it’s easier to cancel or return at my local shop. I prefer digital for Vita so it’s a continual cat and mouse game. For PS3 games, I can put up with physical copies.

  • Chill out guys.. It was just a day. Anyway, WEDNESDAY IS THE NEW TUESDAY. :P

I wonder why GTA Vice City is $4.89 while GTA Vice City Stories is $9.79.
Personally I would have this the other way around, but don’t change it until AFTER I buy GTAVC :)

  • I don’t understand why everyone is complaining so much! Better late than never. Plus, the playstation team has spoiled us lately with early updates so we can let this one slide this time, right? XD

Anyways, I’ve been itching to try out this sacred citadel demo for a while…hope it’s good and thanks again for the update!

  • Should rename Day 1 digital to Day 2 digtal.

  • So is this type of online performance what we can expect from all the streaming compatibility of games on the PS4? Or if it’s an ‘always online’ type of system? I guess we’ll just have to #dealwithit.

  • The way Morgan is answering things, it seems like less of ‘if’ it happens again and more of ‘when’ it happens next time. I’m getting the suspicion that this is gonna be a more regular occurrence. Just change the store update to Wednesday and remove ‘Day One Digital’ and call it ‘Week One Digital’ or something like that.

  • @122 yeah thank god ps4 is not doing that always online thing that the new xbox is rumored to be doing. Otherwise we’d all be screwed by how much they take psn down for maintenance.

  • So where are the avatars? Why do you guys never put any GOOD ones out anymore?

  • In other store related feedback, I agree with many others in that you guys NEED to set an update time and stick to that update time each week. Enough of this randomly updating nonsense where sometimes it’s afternoon and sometimes it’s late evening and sometimes it’s Monday (WTF) and sometimes it’s Wednesday. Especially if you’re going to offer what you call your “Day One Digital” games. Just a tip, it’s not “Day One” if I have to wait until Tuesday evening to start the download and probably wait until Wednesday to actually play it. You have Day Two Digital, day one is me going to the store, buying a disc, taking it home, popping it in, and playing it. It’s not digital, but it’s true day one unlike your digital offerings. Pick a time preferably sometime very early Tuesday morning so people can start the download before leaving for work or school and come home to a completely downloaded and installed game ready to play, and stick with it as much as possible.

  • And tell whoever makes the decision on when the monthly “maintenance” happens not to pick a time that screws with the store updates. Due it on a Thursday or something, that way it’s early enough to not ruin people’s weekends if it runs a bit longer than usual but not so early that it runs the store update because the store update already happened.

One last thing: get a character counter on the blog comment input box. Not so fun writing out all my thoughts and then being slammed in the face with “your comment is too long please shorten it”. Let me know it’s too long BEFORE I click post comment, please.

  • I thought we were supposed to get $10 for every year of PS Plus we redeemed but I only got credit for games and DLC I bought.I redeemed 2 1-year cards. Did anyone else have this issue or did you guys get credit for buying PS Plus??

  • The store updating a day late isn’t that bad. Be thankful that it has updated and was ONLY one day. Anyway, ever since the new store, I haven’t been able to preview dynamic themes. I also noticed a lot of them have disappeared or I just can’t find them. Are we still able to preview them somehow or has that been taken away?

  • Spyro and crash classics playable on vita soon? And Silent Hill for that matter?

  • Finally the store has updated… And as always I knew there wouldn’t be that many content to upload especially for it to be late :/…. What about more psp compability for the vita? And also the Nintendo eshop always updates at 9am Thursday mornings (California) where I live… They have not once been late on updating there store… Learn from them Sony… Keep a schedule update… So that more customers would be happy. Please and thank you for listening to my feedback

  • @116

This isn’t a “Once” thing. This happens almost consistently. Granted this one was longer than normal. But the store updates at random intervals. Sometimes it’s 1500pst, sometimes its 1700pst, sometimes its 1900pst. Sony has a lack of communication with it’s customer base. I am willing to bet that 90% of the people complaining wouldn’t have complained if Sony had come out and said straight up. We are experiencing maintenance the store update may be late. But no it took them over 3 hours to say that and they couldn’t even give a time frame. Finally the Day one Digital. Sony’s “Day one digital” program is wrong. When they promise you can have something on day one than don’t release it day one than they lied. Although I guess Sony never said it was Day one of when regular people get it. It’s day one of when Sony releases it.

  • I love my Playstation products and will continue to buy Playstation products because of the dedication Sony puts toward the hardcore gamer but these inconsistent store updates are getting out of hand, especially when competitors like Valve update their store (Steam) every day with new content, such as discounts or games as soon as they are said to be available even letting you pre-load your games. I believe Colin from IGN best sums up the store’s problems in his article “Dear Sony: Please Fix the PlayStation Store” http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/04/17/dear-sony-please-fix-the-playstation-store

I don’t expect the problems to be rectified right away but a cleaner faster store should be the main priority of Playstation 3 and 4 teams. One more bit of feedback, it would be awesome if PS4 functioned similar to vita in letting you play Music Unlimited songs while playing games. Playing racing games with your own musical taste in the background always enhances the experience.

  • Sorry, but not being able to “foresee” certain things sounds like a terrible excuse to me… you guys should have plans for all possible contingencies and change accordingly. I think PSN being free has granted you guys a lot of lee way as to what we accept because is free, but Steam is free too and is a far better experience.

Months ago you guys mentioned how the store experience would continue to QUICKLY evolve and how great it was going to be and nothing has changed other than the initial bumps and even then its not completely fixed either and it has been more of a headache. What is more confusing is why the PS Store on PS Vita isn’t a better experience since it is new tech.

  • @128, The promotion was $10 for every $50 dollars you spent out of your PSN wallet. PS Plus cards from the store did not count towards that total (Though $50/$20 cards to you redeemed and then spent did)

  • I’ll pick up Sacred Citadel tomorrow. It looks like fun.

  • Only played a bit, but really impressed with the Soul Sacrifice Demo.

    Great game !

  • Morgan,

You know that I keep things pretty positive and still am a happy Plus member.

My issue isn’t with the delay as much as it was with the lack of communication on Sony’s end. I think you guys have to come up with an internal deadline of when to post a delay at a reasonable hour. Maybe if something isn’t up by 6pm EST you update and say the store update is delayed rather than keeping people hanging.

Im a professional and unforeseen events always happen in my field as well and I get it. But communication is key and shows respect for the customers. Majority would understand if you are transparent with the issues.

Just food for thought. Keep it positive and doing what you do with that great attitude of yours.

  • Don’t know if this is possible, but you guys ever think about adding content to the store the day it’s ready and not wait until the next weekly update. For an example say a game is ready to be added to the store but its Thursday why not add it Thursday instead of waiting till Tuesday next week.

  • Finally! :D the so long waited update, There’s no time to lose Soul Sacrifice is waiting!!!1

Thanks Guys! Even when it tok time, we got our Demo and update, thats all I need ;)

  • Sony please take some advice from IGN’s Colin Moriarty. He does a great job of voicing many psn gamers complaints on the way psn store is being handled:

  • Well finally the store updated, that was anoying but finally we got it.

The only thing that makes me cry is the poor PS + library for the Vita; you know? i don’t own a PS3 yet but it will be great and more good to me that the Ps Vita will have more updates with the instant collection. For me this Ps Plus month was a waste.

I would love that you put at least more PSP games at least for the IGC or even the PS1 Classic to the IGC.
See game like Tokyou Jungle and Journey, etc; would be so good to have on the Ps Vita.

  • All these comments about not replying to us….they did reply, maybe not as much as we would like.

But I’d much rather have them working on the problem, then communicating all the time to us.

I work in the IT field as well and sometimes if you give an ETA and don’t meet that deadline, the customers are even more upset.

Be glad it only took a day and we have the store update.

  • I want to play Beats on my Vita

  • A Generation of CRYBABIES this is :-/ Cool update anyway;)

  • Morgan : i’m in Atlantic Time and it’s very “east coast” (its one hour later than eastern). It’s been to the point that i don’t even want to check the update on Tuesday nights anymore.

First the fiasco with the “Not so free games”, yes they were reimbursed but in the future i’d rather not get caught in something like this again.
Point : i checked the store about an hour ago, and the free game for PS+ was registering at 9.99$ in my cart…

Then sometimes the updates are so late that there’s no point in staying up.

If the store would be updated at a set time every week…

  • What about New Avatars?? Are there any Dead Space ones?

  • But I don’t want GTA in French!

  • I agree with tgpumpkin. Some of us here are professionals who understand and empathize with the many problems that normal business operations are heir to. We are not yelling, crying, accusing or demanding off with your heads. But there should be a better, more frequent outreach here.

Probably was out of your hands, but somebody who can make these decisions needs to wake up and smell the coffee.

  • @134 Thanks for the respose, I seem to remember Morgan mentioning here on the blog that the 1-year cards did count towards this particular promotion in March…
