Kid Cudi – Indicud
New on SEN 4-19-2013

Surprise! In an abrupt move last week, Kid Cudi announced that his new album, originally slated for 4/23, would be released one week early. The overwhelming demand from fans and quick skyrocket of the single “Girls,” led to the decision, putting him up against artists like Tyga and Tyler, the Creator, who also recently release albums. Cudi has a unique advantage though, in bringing in a large contingent of other fans through his previous “rock” endeavors like WZRD, although he no longer has the Kanye West machine behind him, as he left G.O.O.D. Music earlier this year. This album also features indie artists like Father John Misty, HAIM and even Michael Bolton (really) alongside hip-hop mainstays like Kendrick Lamar, Too Short and RZA.

Fall Out Boy – Save Rock And Roll
New on SEN 4-19-2013

Don’t call it a comeback – Fall Out Boy never really left. While a formal “hiatus,” was announced over four years ago, the band always had plans to continue playing together after getting positively burned out from years of recording and touring on worldwide levels. They each took on other endeavors, either professionally and personally, most notably Patrick Stump’s heavily electronic album Soul Punk. While their trademark pop-punk and fast guitars reign supreme, some of that electronic influence seems to have rubbed off, as well as a highly-produced, fuller sound. They also use more guest appearances than the average rock band, imploring Courtney Love, Big Sean and yes, even Elton John. This kicks off a busy summer for the band, who will play sold out smaller venues across the US, then on to Europe before embarking on a major arena tour in September.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Mosquito
New on SEN 4-19-2013

Karen O. and her band of indie rock royalty return, three years after their last album It’s Blitz! and nine years since their breakout hit, Fever to Tell, featuring everyone’s wedding dance song, “Maps.” Well-known for Karen’s veracious live performances, they have had some massive singles that gained mainstream notoriety. Musically, they don’t seem to be straying too far from the familiar, although some of the big, booming punk guitar and screaming moments of the last few albums are replaced by the trendier experimental “chill” vibes of current music trends and more melodic vocals.

  • Get Daft Punk- Get Lucky up there ASAP!

  • Paramore+Yeah Yeah Yeahs :)

  • Don’t you guys think its about time we get official led zeppelin albums instead of weak cover bands

    • We’d love to have Led Zeppelin on the Music Unlimited service, but they are one of the bands that has not release their music on streaming services yet. Hopefully that changes soon!

  • Could we get some real Disney music on Music Unlimited? Especially the movie soundtracks and classic Disney albums. These would be awesome songs to add to the collection, and everyone loves these classic songs.

  • So, let me see if I’ve got this right.
Spotify, a swedish music streaming service in no way related to or affiliated with Daft Punk or Daft Punk’s label, has Daft Punk’s (fantastic) new single ‘Get Lucky’ available for streaming.
Music Unlimited, however, is a service owned and operated by Sony. Columbia Records is also owned and operated by Sony. The same Columbia Records that happens to own the rights to Daft Punk’s upcoming album Random Access Memories. But Music Unlimited does not happen to have Get Lucky available for streaming?

    What God would allow this?

That is hilarious. This is the problem with Sony most of the time. There are just too many divisions doing their own thing. Hopefully unification across the whole company will come sooner rather than later.

    @Jeff Safran

I hate to say this, but at this time Sony’s Video Unlimited does not work very well. Each time I have rented a movie from this service they either skip a frame or two every thirty seconds which is annoying or the last time the movie had an error that was unrecoverable.
