Also on PSN and PS3 Blu-ray, the award-winning Star Trek game casts players for the first time ever as Kirk and Spock in a totally original co-op experience worthy of gamers and fans. (Also on PS3 Blu-ray) — The survivors of Banoi thought they had escaped the terrors of the tropical island and survived the apocalypse on a corrupted paradise. Then their fate took a turn for the worse. Shortly after the battle-hardened team had landed their helicopter on a military ship, a furious storm hits and havoc quickly spreads on board. Suddenly they find themselves struggling for their lives again with all hope drowning in the rising waves.

With invigorating new elements infused into a proven mix, Dead Island Riptide reanimates the zombie terror for a second battle for life against the dead. A monsoon has hit the once beautiful archipelago and heavy rainstorms have laid waste to large areas of the islands. The city of Henderson and jungle areas on the island of Palanai were flooded leaving boats as the only remaining way of transportation.

Thomas Was Alone (PS3/PS Vita Cross-Buy) — Thomas Was Alone is a platformer where the goal is simple – get all the characters to their exit portals. You’ll find that becomes increasingly harder than it sounds. Use their skills in tandem, be it flotation, anti-gravity, bounciness or, well, jumping slightly higher. Along the way, you’ll hear an awesome story narrated by Danny Wallace (Assassin’s Creed) and scored by the epically talented David Housden. On PS Vita, you can use the touchscreens to select characters, or to control the camera.

(Also on PS3 Blu-ray) — This action-packed Star Trek game is based in the continuity set up in the 2009 reboot of Gene Roddenberry’s classic series by J. J. Abrams. The Star Trek video game offers a sweeping journey of epic proportions across unexplored planets and enemy battleships with the latest 23rd century weapons and gear. It boasts a story filled with action-packed combat as Kirk and Spock work together to stop a legendary enemy race bent on conquering the galaxy. And for the first time ever, players are cast as Captain James T. Kirk and Spock in an unprecedented co-op experience, where the complementary personalities of these iconic characters push players to make strategic use of their alliance.

Draw Slasher (PS Vita/PSN Exclusive) — A long time ago, but not so far away, Pirate Monkey Zombies – stupid, smelly, ugly, rotten and disgusting creatures – invaded a peaceful village. They kidnapped Hanzo’s – a rather short ninja’s – family. Take control of his awesome blade and aid him in the quest to free them.

gm001God Mode (Demo Available) — God Mode is set in a twisted version of Greek mythology and the afterlife. The player is a descendant of an ancient God whose family has been banished by Hades from Mt. Olympus and turned into a mere mortal. To avoid an afterlife of eternal damnnation, the player must battle through this purgatory known as the Maze of Hades against an army of the underworld.

Soul Calibur V — SoulCalibur V picks up 17 years after the events of SoulCalibur IV with new heroes and returning warriors clashing in an epic showdown between good and evil. The tale of Patroklos, son of Sophitia Alexandra, unfolds as his family’s destiny intertwines with the Soul swords.

Black Rock Shooter: The Game (PSP/PSN Exclusive) — Earth has been ruthlessly assaulted by extraterrestrials, and nineteen years of nonstop battle now threaten the very existence of humanity. The last hope for human survival is BRS, a heroine created solely to save planet Earth; she is the ultimate battle android. But when she is awakened to end the battle once and for all, there are only twelve human beings left on Earth… Black Rock Shooter: The Game is based on the cutting edge music OAV anime from Ordet and Good Smile Company.

Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WWII — In this game, you are the leader of Operation Wildcard, an undercover and elite squad of pilots secretly created by the American government. Your mission is to sabotage and destroy the Third Reich’s evil plans to create a weapon of mass destruction. During this mission you and your team discover that the bad guys also have an elite team of their own. In an attempt to disarm the enemy, you engage in dramatic and movie-like spy missions in some of the world’s most exotic locations using experimental weapons and flying never-before-seen prototype aircraft.

  • cant wait to try out god mode demo. fire pro wrestling returns is awesome and runs better on ps3 then on ps2 somehow. guilty gear is the same game for almost ten years.

  • What!? No Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen?

  • I WISH THEN A CRASH BANDICOOT OR SONIC PS2 GAMES WILL BE AT PS2 CLASSICS.

  • No crash of spyro for vita

  • Will probably pick up some vita games this week, hope there’s some good plus offerings.

  • Nothing at all this week so far. Maybe the PS+ update will have something good.

  • No demos either

  • How hard can it be to press the ‘update store’ button at a set time each day!?

  • black rock shooter and guilty gear. awesome. gotta support localization decisions like BRS for the future

  • I rarely use my ps3 nowadays. Accent core plus r here I come. Vita is boss now.

  • Will be getting the Dead Island Digital and maybe Star Trek Later on.
Getting God Mode (is that only a demo release? or are they just stating that there’s a demo too? confused by that)

Probably the 3 I’m mostly looking at.

  • Champions League semifinals this week, still no Pro Evolution Soccer digital download. Way to fail Konami.

  • Umm i thought Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen drops tuesday? Was it delayed?

  • Please offer some Dj Hero dlc discounts please!!!!

Also, and news on Until Dawn.

    Lates’

  • For some reason I had thought Thomas Was Alone came out on 4/30 not 4/23 what a nice surprise.

  • Is Black Rock Shooter going to work on the PSVita?

  • What happened to Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen?

  • I hope that I can get SoulCalibur 5 on Tues and not on Wed like last week.

Also, can you please update the store maybe at midnight on Tuesdays morning either EST, PST, or any other timezoneone you would like? Microsoft updates there stores by 8am EST on Wednesdays. I am tired of waiting until 7pm or 8pm EST to download something.

Finally, please update your web store to allow automatic downloads on the PS3 when making a purchase from online and auto payment with PayPal. Microsoft has both of these features. With PayPal, I have to first add money to my wallet when I do not have enough funds to make a purchase. I should be able to click pay and the system automatically pull the funds that I need from my PayPal account. Just like you do with credit and debit cards.

    Thanks.

  • Will the Downloadable version of Dead Island be the special edition or the standard? If not I will just pick up my reserved copy.

  • i hope that sony will release spyro the dragon series on PS Vita In North America (PSone Classics) And The Legend Of Spyro Games And Need For Speed Underground 2 (PS2 Classic)

  • @ gohan16ken, Does Microsoft have day one digital titles? Because if they why not just use Microsoft for all your gaming needs.

It’s hard to give a set time when you are uploading full blown titles to the network and making sure it available to purchase for everyone in a specific region. Also the web store is getting an update for automatic downloads for the PS3. I believe it’s coming sometime in May or June.

  • I’m going to try out God Mode for sure, but sadly, that’s about all for me this week. For some reason, I’m not even all that big on Star Trek. Maybe I’ll pick it up when it finds its way to Wal-Mart’s infamous bargain bin. Anyway, I’m just hoping that they have something worth-while in the Spring Fever sale for this week.

  • Yes Dead Island:Riptide on the PSN!! was hoping for that since I have money on my acct.

  • yeah SweetReLeaf , me too.. can’t wait to buy and download Riptide on Tuesday when psn store update around 4pm to 5pm. xD

  • @Godchild1020, no the Microsoft does not have day 1 digital titles. However, Sony just got that about 6 months ago. And for the for the 2 years I have had my PS3, PS3 digital downloads are usually available at 7 or 8pm EST on Tuesday. While, X360 digital downloads are available by 8am EST on Wednesday. If Microsoft can provide me with digital download in the morning, then Sony should be able to do the same.

I am a polygamist so I need both Microsoft and Sony satisfy my digital gaming needs. I got Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Injustice and Dead or Alive 5 on PSN because it came out first on PS3. But I got Super Street Fighter 2 Arcade Edition, Street Fighter x Tekken, and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on XBL because it came out on XBL first.

If Sony wants my money, they keep to do a better job at competing with Microsoft.

Lastly, according to Capcom, Capcom vs. SNK 2 is schedule to come out on PSN at the end of April. Will it be in the store next Tues April 30?

    Thanks.

  • Another lackluster week for Vita :(

  • Microsoft Xbox Marketplace suck big time cause of no day one digital titles .. that meh

  • Every week Rey fails to mention at least one game on the drop lol. You alright though man! How could you possibly overlook Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen?!

  • Hi guys, that’s a lot of new content.

Any news on the latest Sound Shapes DLC? Other regions got it, I wonder when it is coming to the US Store. Thankyou.

  • Fire Pro Wrestling Returns is one of my favorite games of all time. It’s really fun creating wrestlers, rings, referees, championship titles, and even promotions. Also, all the different character appearance parts and the thousands of moves that can be selected from is amazing. Fire Pro Wrestling Returns is an amazing game and I will be ecstatic to add it to my PS2 Classics collection!

  • Got to love Day 1 Digital

  • Injustice Avatars please? :D

  • Fire Prooooooooooooooooo! Just when I thought I could let my PSN wallet lie fallow for a little while, Sony pulls out a Fire Pro Wrestling Returns. I played the two Game Boy Advance games to death, but I never picked up the PS2 game when it was on store shelves. Time to remedy that mistake. Thanks for the post-Wrestlemania content flood, Sony! Guacamelee and Fire Pro Wrestling are a potent tag team.

  • Yeah where the heck is DD:DA???? that’s pretty much the BEST Action Medieval Single Player RPG out there right now and they forget to mention it?! cmon now Sony that game is a masterpiece!! give it some damn rep!!! I LOVE that game!!, its all good though, ppl who pre ordered it in the store automatically get it at 12 midnight on the 22nd anyway, so im good =D

  • “Black Rock Shooter: The Game is based on the cutting edge music OAV anime from Ordet and Good Smile Company.”

Not exactly. The version of BRS in the game is a different character to the one in the OAV and anime; the game-BRS is voiced by Sakamoto Maaya, while the OVAnime BRS is played by Hanazawa Kana, (Even Good Smile have a different way to refer to the two; they list game-BRS as “BRS2035”.)

I suppose the closest example I can think of is how Saber in Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night might look like the playable Saber in Fate/Extra (and Fate/Extra CCC, which has not been announced for release in the West as of yet), but is a very different character (with different Japanese voice actresses). Only that each Saber is still in the same broadly-related multiverse, while there is no known connection between BRS2035 and OVAnime-BRS.

And also, to bring up an unfortunate point to note, the game will not be available in Canada or Mexico. (There’s a list of which countries will get the game in one of Chris King’s replies to the recent BRS blog posts.)

  • Sony start announcing new full games for the vita will ya?

While u announce crappy casual games, 3DS its getting Legend of zelda A link to the past 2!!!!!!!! U know whats that right?!

Having 3 good games this year wont do it sony! Im a big supporter Ill be buying Tear away, Soul Sacrifice and Killzone M, but its that it for a YEAR!!! I even want to buy little king story but u had to freaking released Digital only!!! DA FU^%#@! Really PS3 department uve been doing awesome always but in the handheld department…. u always get behind. C,MON! U have the best handheld out there sony! give it the push it needs! And remember that independent games and digital only wont make ppl buy ur system…. sellers at the store need to see a wall full of games to decide if its worth it! MAKE IT HAPPEN!

  • I hope all those getting Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen, know that it’s basically the first game with some extended content. Think Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom.

I was going to say something snide about FPW, then noticed that there are actual fans of the series in the comments to my surprise. I personally have never heard of the games. Really though if it’s such a PS2 classic, why did the Xbox Live folks get a newly updated game and SONY got nothing?

Lastly ALL USERS if you are purchasing Digital Games you are robbing yourselves. It is 100% legal to copy the discs data and re format it to install on your PS3 as long as you OWN the actual game. Stop paying the same price for Digital when BY LAW you can buy the retail version and have both.

  • @gohan16ken we still get are updates a day sooner than XBL does, i think sony is updating the store pretty quickly XD

  • Omg, fire pro wrestling on psn, day 1 sold, one of the greatest wrestling game ever made

  • Still no Crash or Spyro on Vita, I see.

  • not the Wrestling game i would have liked, thats more of galactic Wrestling

  • And yet have to wait another week for Ratchet: Deadlocked 8 more weeks at the most until it comes out until spring is done, and I don’t think I’m the only one counting down :-\

  • @heyPJ93, yes we get it a few hours earlier because Sony updates on Tues and Microsoft updates on Wed. Also, in come cases Microsoft updates every other week while Sony updates weekly. But my point is the time they update. Sony gives me the update at 8pm while Microsoft gives it to me at 8am. I would prefer the 8am over the 8pm.

Also, prior to this Day 1 release, Microsoft got more retail to digital game on demand before Sony, for example, Street Fighter 4, Super Street Fighter 4, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, etc. With the Day 1 digital release, that of course is changing. But I am not sure how much I like it. Because Day 1 digital release cost the same as the physical retail copy. While 3 months later digital release was like $20 cheaper. But that is another topic.

  • And also we do need an update on when the rest of the psone classic games are coming out one of these days soon on another post.

  • And I meant for the vita

  • BRS looks amazing, it’s a shame it won’t be available for méxico… I’ll just wait for the Resident Evil sale details tomorrow to decide what to buy this week.

  • Im not excited for anything recently.. I was excited for Soul Sacrifice but after the demo it’s really not what I was expecting. The Last of Us just might be my last PS3 game.. Next Gen can’t come soon enough imo…

  • Still no Crash and Spyro on Vita. And let me guess:

    1. The PlayStation Store will update late again

    2. Download times will be sluggish(my poor brother had to wait all night for Sonic Adventure to download on his system. The game is 1.5 GB large and we have a high speed wireless router. Do the math.)

    3. Sonic Heroes won’t be a PS2 classic next week(Europe, I’m so jealous)

    4. I am still not motivated to buy a Vita

    5. No one will respond to this post.

    6. I’ll play Injustice all week
