  • Dear PSN,

Call of Duty games for $60, really?
MW3 is less than $25 anywhere you go, but I don’t trust used Call of Duty games. Can someone at SONY move their butt and get a deal with ACTIVISION that will allow PSN users to download the multiplayer version of Call of Duty games? or simply lower the price? they make no sense.

  • im glad i only got the ps+ for 3 months bc the last 2 months have sucked if next month isnt better ill just say screw it and save me money for a 3ds

  • I don’t mind an occasional PSP game from Plus, but when it’s every single month and of a genre we’ve been flooded with then I feel a bit cheated. It’s bad enough that we only get 2 games per month even though we pay the same price for Plus as PS3 owners (yes I own both, but not everyone does). When comparing the two it’s like we’re getting the equivalent of a PSN title and a PSOne Classic every month and that’s it. So I’m not saying to do away with the PSP games, but just tone it down.

  • PS plus used to be soooo much better. Hopefully we see a return too its former greatness soon.

  • Pt. 1:

I think PS+ is the greatest program for gaming since online multiplayer. With that said, it is sad to see people complaining about what the customers in Europe receive. I understand that we feel slighted, but you have to look at Sony’s market and Europe is where it is most popular. Logically they are going to get the lion’s share of content because they produce the most profit for the company. We also have to keep in mind that we are not entitled to better games and the threat of ending your subscription because you did not get what someone else got is a problem that we have in this country. I believe any company should look try to work better with it’s customers but they are in no way required to provide better service to a region with a smaller market share.

  • Pt. 2:

Also, at leas,t you are paying $50 and receiving content that more than pays for itself. Additionally you have free access to watch Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, etc. unlike Xbox Live. With XBL you are paying $60 a year for Gold and with you Gold account you are gaining access to everything Sony gives you, but is behind a pay-wall with Microsoft. Microsoft’s reward program gives you, at max, a 2% return on your monthly purchase and $.25 for taking online surveys. We all have the right to complain but try to get some perspective of what Sony is doing for you that no other company has done.

  • Meh, seriously not impressed by getting another PSP fighter that’s compatible with the vita.

If I wanted PSP fighters I would have stuck to my easily exploitable PSP where I never actually had to pay for games anyway.

Next time can we get something that’s at least semi decent that isn’t from a last gen handheld console please?

  • love me some soul calibur. havent gotten to play any handheld ones pretty pumped to play it on the fly. also super stoked for the RE6 sale. definitely copping myself some RE6 zom nom nom action.

  • Any idea or word on when Hotline Miami, Spelunky or Terraria will be making their way to vita?

  • Hi PS+ team:

In case you haven’t seen it, please take a look at the EU team’s recent PS+ poll (they just announced results today):

    https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2013/04/22/playstation-plus-instant-game-collection-poll-the-results-are-in/

RPGs and Action/Adventure games dominated the poll results, with fighting games coming in 7th after RPG, AA, Shooters, Platforming, Racing, and Sports. RPGs alone got 6x the votes of fighting games.

I don’t know if you’ve run a similar poll in the U.S., but judging by the comments on every PS+ post, I’d assume the U.S. results wouldn’t be that different. I think PS+ users’ frustrations make sense when the U.S. schedule has 6x more fighting games than RPGs, despite the exact opposite being requested.

Might be worth considering for future PS+ updates.

(Also, thanks for your hard work!)

  • I was being a HATER when EU got it free before us. Well if u want to no the future of free PS plus game keep up on other areas freebie.

  • RE 1, 2 and 3 for less than $8? Sold!

  • I may even get RE6. I know I can get a brand new copy for $19, so I’ll see.

  • Agree with @30, too many fighters being pushed out to plus members.

  • Hey I just tried to buy Resident Evil Director’s Cut but the store still says it is $9.99

When do the sales go live?

  • @demon_spectre,

The US Blog did a poll too, in February, and yes the results were much the same. A few months ago, the PS+ monday posts were always littered with the same type of comments. The poll says we want RPG games, where are the RPG games. Fighters, the poll put fighter last but yet we get yet another fighting game.

  • resign the trainee who negotiates the games for plus usa

  • I’d love to actually see an answer to any question about why Europe is getting the better plus games. Whoever the executives that decided this are, there’s no way they could actually think that what we’re getting here in the states can compare to what Europe is getting. What’s their rationale? Is it that they think we don’t care or that we just don’t matter that much? Even if either of those isn’t the answer that’s the message they’re sending.
For the money I’m spending on plus for Vita I’d like to get actual Vita games.
I hope whomever does make these decisions is at least hearing our opinions and if so will listen to and act on them. Right now they’re not winning any popularity contest. You’d think they’d want to take pride in offering and being the best, instead of being viewed as cheap and inferior.

  • @goatsarecool
When you are paying for a service you have every right to complain if the service is not living up to your expectations. PS+ isn’t some privilege, it’s a product. And when one entity is offering a much better version of the same service while your provider is lagging behind filing complaints is more than justified.
If you had cable TV and they cut half your channels while other regions still got them would you smile and keep quiet? It’s not a matter of entitlement whatsoever nor is it some poor reflection on the mindset of our country, it’s consumers taking action and asking for a comparable product for their money.
And if we’re the smaller market I disagree with your sense of good business as well. We’re the area they want to grow in, giving the “lion’s share” to the established market while neglecting the smaller does little to attract new business where it’s needed most .

  • soul calibur and thomas was alone on my vita..wow

  • Actually, i also would refer games that are only build for Vita as the main title too!! Somehow, a PSP game as the main collection title for the Vita is really bringing down the point of buying the PS Vita… It’s like, what’s the point buying a Vita when you’re STILL playing a PSP game.
Yup, I hope next month’s collection is an RPG Game with good graphic, preferably PS Vita game.
Don’t disappoint me too much, okay?

  • “I’m curious as to what people prefer overall; no PSP games at all?; or the current model which is more or less half PS Vita games and half PSP games.”

It seems disingenuous to suggest that those are the only options, barring licensing issues. Can you offer 3/4 Vita games and 1/4 PSP games? If we didn’t want Vita games, we would have stayed with the PSP. Despite that, I still do enjoy PSP games, and would like some on Plus. If it’s nothing but fighters, though, I would prefer them less often.

    (cont.)

  • That’s the real issue with PSP overload, IMO. In March, 1 Vita game, 1 PSP fighter. In April, 1 Vita game, 1 PSP fighter. Did the PSP have nothing else to offer, that our only option was a fighting game twice running? The PSP was the best system for JRPGs since at least PS1. Off the top of my head, just counting games I own, Persona 1, 2, and 3. FF I, II, IV Complete, Tactics (a fantastic Vita Plus launch title), Crisis Core, KH: Birth By Sleep, Yggdra Union, Ys I & II, Oath in Felghana, Ark of Napishtim, and Seven, Lunar SSH… that’s just one genre.

I don’t mean to complain. You guys do great work, and offer great games. Heck, even if the only freebies you guys gave were Foosball (which came out of nowhere to be my most played non-Persona Vita game), Disgaea, Maverick Hunter X, and FFT, I’d have gotten my money’s worth out of Vita Plus. It’s just… you have such a good library that appeals to so many players, that it’s a crime to leave the deep end untouched in favor of “1 Vita game, 1 PSP fighter” every month.

  • The US always gets crappy updates, once in a Blue Moon we might get something of worth. I don’t want to play PSP titles on my Vita.

  • i loved ps+ last year and i recomended it to a LOT of people. Im feeling kind of embarrassed about making those recomendations now. Ps+ has been absolutely horrible this year compared with last year. Those people that i recommended it to trusted me and spent their money on this service and there have been no good games on ps+ in 2013. In 2012 I was downloading games every month.

I like fighting games, but i like to play fighting games MULTIPLAYER. I dont play psp multiplayer because its a portable system. I play psp games (on my vita) when i am on the go, so i play single player on it and I know im not alone because thats the point of a portable system. I realize that you dont exactly get to choose the games for ps+ because it has to do with contracts with the game publishers, but Sony does have the ability to offer incentives in the contracts so that developers will want their games on ps+.

  • Dear Sony,

Hopefully you take heed to your own recent survey and stop giving us fighting games… And if we’re to get fighting games at least give us Vita games. People aren’t paying you with the expectation of getting old PSP games, give us Vita games.

I’m a NA Sub by the way; Europe Subs seem to be doing better than us.

    You loyal fan,

    ApolloSupreme

  • hey morgan here is an idea at the begining of the last week of each month take a poll on wat games we as PAYING customers would like to see on the ps+ for the next month. you pick a list of like ten games and we as PAYING customers vote and the top 4 get put on for free the other 6 get put on at a dicount but you know wat i know this won’t get read or even commented on.

  • stop it with the psp fighting games already. jesus.

  • Well, I bought a PS Vita because the PS Plus will feature the Vita. But all I’m receiving is PSP game.

If I wanted PSP games I would buy a PSP.

  • Ya PS Plus US is getting the short end of the stick. I don’t want to cancel but I am not impressed with the service as it is right now. EU is able to get Arkham City, Mass Effect 3, Hitman Absolution, etc… US gets Borderlands 1 only 2 weeks before Borderlands 2. Come on Sony step it up!

  • @241 You missed it! Wild Arms was free for the PS Vita anniversary sale. I’d never played it and its super fun, but I don’t think they will add it to the IGC since they already gave it out once.

  • I think Sergiocosmo hit the nail on the head in an earlier comment. PS+ is a product that is paid for. People that say we should be grateful we get Netflix, Hulu etc free are missing that point. It is because we get those free already that the PS+ should be that much better. There needs to be a continued need to pay for a service.

As far as the whole US vs. EU version goes the naysayers that say that EU has more members or subscribers are probably right. However, we are not talking about shipping a physical product here where Sony would have to spend tons to ship and distribute to a small minority. You are talking about something that realistically is as simple as uploading software to a server for download. Why should there be any difference between what is offered?

  • Having a poll for genres would also be a great idea… the EU team has the right idea :P

  • I think it’s been discussed many times before. Some games have different licensing agreements between regions.

I imagine the easiest games to get on Plus would be the Sony-owned games as licensing is a non-factor.

So, I’m hoping to see ICO/SOTC on Plus soon, maybe newer GOW games (I still haven’t played the Origins Collection yet)? Thanks!

  • You would think, after last weeks fiasco, they would have updated the store by now. Nothing on plus or discounts for me this week, just hoping there’s a nice price drop on something I may want to purchase.

  • I have a few suggestions for you guys regarding PS Plus.

    1. Less free games and more discounted games or allow PS Plus users to purchase something when on sale that they may already have for free through PS Plus. It sucks knowing that if I ever let my PS Plus sub lapse I will lose access to a lot of games in my library. I don’t plan on doing that but still…

    2. Alternatively, let the user choose from 1 of 3 free games or 2 of 4/5 free games per month that they then get to keep even if the PS Plus sub ends. Limit this only to yearly subs if that is better. All the other games on the list could then be purchased at a discounted price.

    3. OR, stick with what your doing but put in some way for users to guarantee they keep some of these games they get for free. Like after one year you get to mark 5 or so as permanent from your Instant Game Collection. After two years you get 5 more.

    4. No free DLC through PS Plus, or make it so the user owns it permanently if it is free through PS Plus. Particularly with the new store, this can be confusing to sort out.

Or just let us know what the contingency plan is for PS Plus either when the PS4 comes out or the PS3-PSN content is shut down.

  • Come to eu where call of duty black ops 2 costs £60 or modern warfare 3 costs £55 :-D work that out in dollars :-D but its Activisions fault for being greedy not so much Sony they can’t under cut retail they say but they can sometimes have really cheap deals on games :-D all I know plus is worth every penny and is great but if they start charging $100 for one game i’m out on ps4 i’m happy as I am :-D saying that plus is crazy mental with value eu. And usa

  • Hey Morgan regarding the issue of PSP games for PS Plus, I don’t mind at all. I can understand that the Vita library isn’t that big yet, also I don’t own a Vita for that reason. I do own a PSP and a Ps3 and consider myself a pretty loyal PlayStation fan. I own a 360 but kind of regret it, the main reason I got it was because my friend plays bf3 on the 360 and Ps3 had some Mic problems in the beginning. Anyway, I really enjoy getting some great PSP games with my plus subscription, so I want to thank you for that.

  • Downloading God Mode demo now. The store is starting to update.

  • Already Downloaded Broken Destiny. Not sure how I’m going to fare in it. I totally sucked at Tekken 6

  • Am I too late to get the GTA sale? It still shows Grand Theft Auto sale and I added Vice City to my cart but it’s showing up full price. I thought the sale was valid til the end of the day…

  • We should be boycotting its rediculous . They mention démon souls and front line as good games there brutal lol compared to hitman absolution . Dont know about the rest of u but i know alot of us bought the 3 month deal for plus to check it out and we wont be continuing it with crap titles like this . Us Sony fans always get the short stick. Every month should b amazing . Ud benifit way more from us

  • God mode démo like really . That was the best they could do lol wow

  • I think if youre going to give us a fighting game it should at least be a Vita exclusive… its not that I don’t mind PSP games,or fighting games, but PSP Fighters don’t offer online multi-player which is a very key component to Fighters these days.

  • Yea, it’s been a terribly sad month for PS Plus. So looking forward to May.

  • @Morgan

Someone spelled “Franchise” wrong in the RE sales ad. Thought you might want to know.

  • I just wanted to know why isn’t the RE4&Code Veronica bundle on sale? It would be less than buying them individuality.

  • We need a program to backup and manage the games we have and not have to redownload games again

  • How about next month you give us a GOOD PS3(NOT VITA OR PSP) game like God of War 3/Hitman Absolution/Metal Gear Solid Revengence/DMC Devil May Cry since for the last year or so we only got trash games? If you can’t give us those games then at least give us decent discounts(at least 30% on new and old releases)!

  • I agree with this :
I have a few suggestions for you guys regarding PS Plus.
