@241, FTM, wait, Imma start over because I may have answered wrong.

1. Any free Plus games expire when your Plus expires. Any Plus discounts do not expire because you paid for them, if only half price.

2. The question I thought you asked but maybe only in my head was how to buy discounted games that are free for Plus, since free games will expire. That was what I meant earlier.

Sorry, going to blame this on the fog of Mondays.

Hey, quick question…the Metal Gear HD collection for vita, is the sale just on the collection or is it also on the MGS2 & MGS3 for the vita?

Instead of discounting newer games you discounted games that are 2/3 years old which we can probably buy for far less anyway?Yea,thanks a lot .

Hey anyone who is not a PS+ subscriber and is thinking of getting Playstation All Stars Battle Royale should consider going to the electronics place with the big blue and yellow sign because they have it on sale for 19.99. Plus you get the online pass included as well as the vita version. If you don’t have a preference for a digital ps3 copy then save yourself 8 bucks..

Unfortunately Sony should be pricing a little more competitive for PS+ and regular members, especially when a local retailer has it for cheaper. Got my copy today! :)

@251, lisatsunami

Ok you just fogged me ;p because you just made it confusing again.

1) The ‘if only half price’ is that a clause found in there terms or something? The example I placed for this week was Infamous 2 is free for PS+ members this week but it is listed under discounts and not IGC. So will Infamous 2 or similar discounted = free become inaccessable when PS+ sub lapses? Also sucks if have to buy as a normal PSN account to avoid free listing if it tied to IGC.

2) Just to make sure you understand the question. If I already own a game due to PS+ IGC, is there a way to still purchase the game so that I own it instead of rent it(PS+ lapse = end of rental). As it is now, if you try to buy a game that you own thru instant game collection, it wont let you because you own it thru PS+ IGC. IE say I own final fantasy tactics via PS+ instant game collection and then it went on sale with PS+ discount of 75% savings which I want to buy so I can play even if sub lapses. Well PS store wont let you do it. If that was how you understood the question, your saying I would have to setup a second account to make discounted purchases on a game that was purchased as a IGC?

+ PAFenix on April 29th, 2013 at 4:20 pm said:

@262 klassymike

Gamestop is advertising Sleeping Dogs with Playstation Plus in their retail stores. It’s where I saw it and thought about asking for a confirmation. So if it’s a May thing, it makes sense!

Whoa! Monster update. This gives me a reason to purchase some items off the PSN store! Was waiting for PS All Stars Battle Royale to drop and for that price it’s a must buy. Especially with the characters I got with GoW…

I say May, cause it’s never been on the IGC In the U.S. Thanks for the info!

268

+ lisatsunami on April 29th, 2013 at 4:38 pm said:

@263, FTM, uh, oh I didn’t mean to confuse you more. It’s hard to respond word for word because it’s too hard to scroll up many messages when typing in the big box at the bottom.

That phrase about if only half price or whatever I said was only me using an example. Fill in any dollar amount you want. If you paid anything, it’s forever, Plus or not.

2). Yes. I see that question a lot, and I’ll butt in and answer sometimes. Set up another acct to buy any Plus free games that you would rather own, not rent. Buy it, download it. Then, if you’re a trophy ‘ho like me, switch back to your real acct so you can play and earn trophies under your real acct.

3). To confuse you more, you could add a third acct, for the SCEE, and do the same as advised for point 2. In cases where the EU store had PS3 games not available on the NA store. Yup, I’ve done it.

+ Gamerzlimited on April 29th, 2013 at 4:56 pm said:

@66 Wow, your the most biggest troll here. I hope your PSN account gets banned.

Anyway, loving these sales. Can’t wait to get Ghost of Sparta for PSP so I can get my God of War fix on the go and the PS1 classics of the Twisted Metal games. Keep up the good work, Morgan. :)

270

+ FTM-Soul-Shaker on April 29th, 2013 at 5:02 pm said:

@268 lisatasunami

So what I’m deciphering is you have to pay something ($0.01 or more) to own and anything that is free for PS+ is just for rent. Which is why you need a second account(and sadly second PS+ account to split discounts and IGC in case they ever conflict). If that is the case, you tried to explain it and just made it much more complicated than it needed to be. Thanks for all the help though.

@270, FTM, I don’t understand why you keep mentioning a second Plus acct. I don’t have that. Well, I do, but the second one is for my EU acct. I could use it to d/l and play Sleeping Dogs and Hitman and whatever else people here are complaining about.

Maybe someone else can answer you better than I can.

Maybe the MGS PS3 HD collection too.

281

+ ArchAngelMai on April 29th, 2013 at 6:01 pm said:

@270
To explain PS+ for you:
1. It is not a rental service.
2. Games you download stay in your download list forever.
3. You lose access to any games that are free from PS+ when your subscription expires. However if you ever renew your PS+, you will regain access to all the old games, and gain access to all the new ones that are available at that time.
4. Any games you purchase at discounted price through PS+ are yours to keep forever, even if your subscription expires.
I really don;t understand why people ask stupid questions on here when it would take a matter of a few seconds to google it and get the answer.

@ArchAngelMai HA! I knew it! If he did owned them, the games would have installed their trophies on his system and most of these games were made when the trophy system was in effect. Lucky I caught his troll.

But it sucks I don’t own PS+ due to the fact it’s so expensive. I guess I’ll take advantage of the deals without it, probably the PSP and PS1 classics ones only.

@ElektroDragon Troll better next time, I beg YOU!

Sony, we NEED Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops and Portable Ops + to work on the PS Vita. Come on! The EU version works. This was one of the best games on the PSP library, Sony should make an effort to get certain games working on the Vita, it could further attract sales. I’d love to be able to play Crisis Core, Birth by Sleep and Portable Ops on the PS Vita, but the first 2 are not available and the last one is, but not playable.

Also, please bring Einhander PSX classic to this side of the ocean.

I would have bought MGS Portable ops for vita but its not compatible :( why are some games but not others, i dont want to pretend I know the process but it seems like its just a click of a switch away from psp emulation with billinear filtering/analog support….I really want to play portable ops too :(

+ Gamerzlimited on April 29th, 2013 at 6:38 pm said:

Speaking about MGS Portable Ops (Which I totally forgot), can anyone tell me is there a point to get Portable Ops + as well? I was thinking on getting the original to play on my PSP along with the stuff I said, but I’m not sure if it worth to get the + expansion as well. Is there an benefits of having both versions or should I just buy Portable Ops only?

288

+ StalkerD on April 29th, 2013 at 6:41 pm said:

Gamerzlimited, they are different games. Portable Ops + would be similar to the original VR Missions expansion. There is no story mode, just a lot of single player missions that challenge your skills and let you recruit soldiers. And more multiplayer modes, which I’m pretty sure nobody plays anymore. It is worth having as part of your collection and for the single player challenges. But it has no purpose story wise.

289

+ Gamerzlimited on April 29th, 2013 at 6:51 pm said:

@StalkerD So basically it’s the “VR Missions” of Portable Ops? I originally thought it was just a “Metal Gear Online” expansion only so I thought it would be a waste of money to buy it. But after hearing what you said, guess I’ll be buying both. Thanks, that was just the kind of info I need.

Wow IMHO ANOTHER lame ps plus update. This isnt what I signed up for. Dont know about you but Im so tired of these lame, boring games in the IGC. I could go for more betas if/when they come available. My subscription is up and due to be renewed soon, but I seriously doubt that I will renew. The price is too high just for cloud saving and auto updating(which should be free anyway) with a new lame boring game thrown in every month. No thanks. Not worth it.

Are the games still crossbuy even with the discounts? I wanna get Sly Thieves in Time but I wanna get it for both PS3 and Vita. Sale is great, and even more amazing if crossbuy is still available.

292

+ StalkerD on April 29th, 2013 at 7:07 pm said:

@Gamerzlimited, yes, it’s kinda like that. The ideia was to use in the online mode the soldiers you recruited, and the main draw of playing the single player was to get soldiers. But this does not change the fact that there is a single player experience there, in the form of the “infinity mission” mode. If i’m not mistaken, the mode has randomly generated missions. It is not as robust or varied as VR Missions, but it is still pretty fun.

You might want to read completely before replying to something.

Nowhere did you help CLARIFY or add to what I didn’t know because those were the basic terms given. I was just asking for some clarification which I was not able to search for anywhere easily. No where does it clarify what is a Instant game collection title and which is discounted to be free for PS+ members. Games listed under discount PS+ = free does not clarify that to be IGC but sounds like unspoken system rule determines all free games to PS+ members as a IGC which is all I was asking for first question. Second question was about being able take advantage to OWN PS+ discounted game that you already have with IGC because you want to OWN it in case you ever want to leave PS+. Yes I own forever discounted games but how do you buy it if you already have it as a IGC because it doesn’t allow you to purchase it.

1) I related it to a rental because it is taken away if you stop your sub which is more similar to rental service than owning. Its just you can hold on to all the titles till the end of your subscription. Yes you get them all back at re-sub but you are just renting again.
