  • If Sony added trophies to PSP titles, I’d be much more interested and Im sure many others would be as well – and that is a great way to encourage the buying of the PSP black library…

  • Da for Knytt!!

  • If you purchase Metro: Last Night on the store, does it include the bonuses that will come with the Limited Edition store copies?

  • @47 – Totally agree with you regarding the PSP/Vita vote. I’m not at all against getting PSP games in the IGC. After all, there are a limited amount of Vita games currently, and I doubt they’re going to start placing games like P4G in the Collection any time soon. But PSP had some absolutely fantastic games, particularly in the RPG genre. I didn’t play hardly any of them because I didn’t get into the genre until recently, but I’d love to get access to some of them for free (i.e., Jeanne d’Arc, Persona 3 Portable).

Also looking forward to playing Knytt Underground on my Vita…once I’m through the dozen other Vita/PSP games I have yet to play. Gotta love PS+! Also, hope that Persona 3 FES is on sale tomorrow as was mentioned on the PS Blogcast last week. Will definitely pick it up at the $5 price range.

  • Knytt looks interesting, but I won’t be playing it as it is an M. Nothing for me this week.

  • PSP games definitely add value to the PS Vita IGC line up specially if we can get a great PSP game instead of an average/decent game like Germinator, but so far we have only been getting PSP fighting games which is a bit disappointing considering that there is so many great and varied PSP games.

  • I bought Knytt when it was on sale a while back. Great game, still it cracks me up when they offer free games that have previously been on sale or even been included in Plus a while ago. At any rate, there is nothing for me in the sales either, so it is a money-saving week for me. No complaints here.
@Morgan, one question – When they add Pinball Arcade to Plus later this month, are they planning a sale of any of the DLC? I don’t have any of the extra tables yet and have been hoping for a sale!

    • We’ll announce any and all discounts for Plus in this post, usually the week that they hit. I personally don’t have as much visibility on what discounts are coming down the road, but I’ll make sure to relay them here ont he week that they hit

  • there are*

  • God, what a lame plus update. Though i like that you are giving 20% discounts on new games for once. Hopefully it will be done more often on games i actually wanna buy.

Also, no psp games don’t add value to the IGC, especially crappy fighting games. We want Vita games.

  • I am excited for Knytt Underground, the demo was really awesome but I didn’t get around to buying it due to my giant backlog of games :P

  • @Ryumoau

I’d rather have a some good PSP games than crappy vita games on the IGC!! I do agree with you that the fighting games on there have to stop!!

  • Please add mag and twisted metal into the instant game collection. Those games deserve it

  • @38
Actually, there are console versions of the game as well. But the PS Vita version is the one getting the Plus treatment (all of the PS3 BlazBlue games are currently disc only).

  • How about some PS3 fighting games for free? I’d love to get Soul Calibur 5 and Tekken x Street Fighter!

  • Yes, please continue to have PSP games be part of PS+! So many PSP games that are awesome! I wasn’t planning to get Metro Last Night, but man that is a mice discount!

    • Thanks for your vote on the PSP poll. If you’re reading this, and you haven’t yet cast your vote on the poll link above, please do!

  • In my opinion the discounts is what makes PS+ worth it. Day 1 discount on metro proves my point.

  • Regarding the survey question about PSP games in the IGC:

I think PSP games add great value to PS+, but it certainly depends on the game. I have no interest in the fighting games that have been free lately. But the PSP God of War games would be excellent additions.

Triple-A PSP games are always better than lackluster Vita games. There have been way too many Vita games added to the IGC that aren’t even worth my time. In those situations, PSP has more of a selection to choose from. There’s a better chance of getting a good game.

If the Vita had a library of more awesome games, then the PSP library wouldn’t be as valuable as it is today.

  • @59 and @62

What the hell is wrong with fighting games again? If there’s a reason I should stop playing BlazBlue CSE (which I won’t be doing until I at least finish the story), please, enlighten me.

Plus, BlazBlue CSE is, IMO, the best fighting game there is, let alone on the Vita. It’s by Arc System Works, so how could it not?

Not to mention (as Ryumoau should know by now, from all the screens (WITH WATERMARKS!!!) I’ve sent) the fact that 1. The story is actually good, and there are some silly moments, and 2. There are A LOT (literally HUNDREDS) of Gallery items to unlock.

  • @64 We already had SSF4 and King of Fighters XIII. Also, Tekken x Street Fighter isn’t even out yet.

  • We need more discounts. I mean free games are fine, but my year members ship is going on to 2 or 3 months now and I’ve yet to use a single discount purchase…..

I don’t understand why Sony’s own games are not all listed at discounts for PS Plus. Killzone HD etc…. I’d be buying all these up, but instead I just keep “holding out” for discounts that will come eventually….. 15 dollar games for 10 dollars would be perfect.

  • @Ryomoau
Only reason its getting 20% is because its THQ and they went under recently and were purchased by another company. So I don’t think its likely it will happen often.
And seriously, their aren’t that many games on Vita, and surely very few good ones. I would rather get great PSP games than crappy Vita games just for the sake of giving us a Vita game over a PSP one :(

  • Wow, good update. I would take advantage. But I already have enough on my plate at the moment, thank you. :)

  • But first, the PS Store have to work…many days in maintenance! : /

  • The new poll about PSP games is good opportunity to see what people are thinking about many PSP titles that are being added to IGC US for VITA, I agree there are definitely a lots of titles in PSP library but hell no I would like to be added mediocre and passable titles to IGC for Vita. I’d like to see more exclusives and from different genre not just Fighting games. About PS3 IGC , please remove/change this so-called “ever Green Titles”.

  • You guys are killing me with these lame discounts. I want to buy some stuff. Put more on sale please.

  • @soldierone

Did you miss all of the discounts last month?! Sony had deep discounts on many of their own franchises, including God of War, Ratchet and Clank, and Twisted Metal, not to mention PS All-Stars, Metal Gear Solid, Borderlands 1 & 2, all of the Resident Evil games, and Grand Theft Auto. Don’t know what you’re waiting for to pull the trigger on any of these gems.

  • Yeah I have to agree. No more fighting games on Vita or PS3. We have had enough of them. Still give PSP games, just no more fighting games after BlazBlu please.

Also for PSN games, instead you guys can throw in a full PS2 game. As they are around same prices usually, but there is usually more value in a PS2 game. PS3 retail games over everything though. Sleeping Dogs was a nice treat.

Just a suggestion. Maybe give it a try, see how well that does.

  • In my opinion, Playstation Plus is just getting better and better!

  • Ihave a question Morgan. Any chance we might see a release of Dark Cloud 1-2 or Rogue Galaxy release in the future? A PSN release would be great, thanks

    • Not sure, I would love to see those out there too, but it’s an entirely diffrent workstream of which I don’t have much of a window into

  • PSP games? How ’bout PS4 games? I feel as though moving forward into the next console, the IGC will be empty on PS4 for a good while….but it’s when the PS3 will finally get the games we always wanted.

Can we get past the PSP and talk about the future of PS4?

  • Nothing really for me this week, as I already got Knytt.

Gotta say that it’s a great game to just explore.
I’ve spent hours in that game only exploring, trying to find the way to get some of the side quests done.
Only real problem is that there seems to be no way to disable the touch controls for the third chapter.
This is a little bit of a burden seeing how you go about. It’s a bit too easy to switch if you got teh stuupid thumbs.
    Enough spoilers already.

I’m all good with PSP games, as long as there is some variety.
Could you guys add some XSeed games, like Lunar or some of the Y’s series?
With that new Y’s game out on the Vita sometime this year, they might be willing to work up a promo.

I can sorta see why some might be weary of fighting games, but I’m sure it’s just getting the genres fair cut of the Plus pie. Could use more cycling on the platform/adventure genres.

    • For the PSP games you recommended, your best bet is to go on the publisher’s channels let them know it’s something you’d like to see.

  • Can you say PS Plus member & digging it!!!!!!!!

  • I played through “The Cave” this past weekend and finished up my physical copy of Infamous (I know it’s an old game) so I could start Infamous 2 thanks to PS+. Now we’re getting another cross-buy title. So awesome. :D

I think because of PS+ I’ve become more of a Playstation gamer. I use to always fly the Xbox flag proudly, but now I can’t help but sing the praises of my PS3 and PS+… Hats off to Sony on this one, they seemed to really turn the end of this generation of consoles to their favor. At least for me personally. I get WAY more value for my dollars nowadays gaming on Playstation.

  • Day 1 Digital discount on Metro: Last Light? Now this is what I’m talking about. Quality discounts on brand new titles. Looks like I’ll be grabbing this after all. Great job Sony!

  • I can’t wait! playstation plus is perfect.

  • sales so far this month not that great but I do love the line up we are getting on the plus for games.. I do hope they put all the pinball tables on sale the week that we get the pinball stuff for free.. cuz that would be awsome…

  • Will be pre-ordering Grid 2 and still on the fence about Metro: Last Light. Is this a horror game or just another shooter?

  • Wow, Gametrailers gave Metro Last Light a 9.1. I am now very interested in getting.g it. Review made the game look great. And cheaper than on Steam. Will it include the bonuses that are on Steam?

  • @87
Horror/Stealth Shooter. Stealth is optional. Watch Gametrailers review, I am sold.

  • Knytt Underground looks like a fun game. Just a critique though, the character sprite doesn’t look so great and his (her? I think it’s a he) animations aren’t great. The rest of the game looks phenomenal though. Backgrounds and levels are gorgeous, particle effects look great. Makes up for the meh character sprites. I’m excited to try it out though.

  • have it and wasted money

It’s much better on a TV. You should try it out. I don’t know how anyone can play that game on a Vita… the characters are way too damn small on Vita’s little screen. I tried to play it on a Vita once, that’s how I know. Great game though. On the TV. It just takes a little while to open up and really get interesting. But if you’re patient and you like exploring, it can be a really satisfying game.

    @ Ryumoau

Would you shut up already? Nobody cares that the games offered here aren’t exactly to your liking. Did you know that Plus isn’t just for you?

  • Morgan,

For those that purchase Metro: Last Light this evening, can we begin downloading at midnight, or do we have to wait for tomorrow’s update, which doesn’t happen on a consistent schedule? I really don’t want to wait until 10pm on Tuesday to receive my purchase.

  • knightrider1977

I downloaded Sleeping Dogs and when I tried to install the 965 mb update, it fails. Is there anyone who had the same problem?

  • SO, Knytt Underground isn’t free until tomorrow?

  • looking forward to wednesday cause thats when these will actually be available on the network “/

  • WoundedUnderwear

Only thing that grab my attention is Metro: Last Light with the Plus discount. Going download it day 1. As for Knytt Underground, didn’t really care for that game. So another unless free game this week for me.

At least Metro: Last Light and Defiance will keep me busy for a while, till the June PS PLUS Update. The rest of May Plus Free Game update really don’t interest me at all. Hope June PS PLUS free game update is way better.

  • I’d like to see COD: Black Ops Declassified go on sale. Sony CAN’T be selling many copies. It got atrocious reviews for bugginess and blandness. Call me a masochist, but I want to try it myself.

However, I’m not willing to pay $49.99 for ANY Vita game, and especially a digital title that cannot be resold. That price is more expensive than any other Vita game, by approximately $10-15. I think Sony has a decent price point for most other digital downloads at $35. That is the highest price I’m willing to pay for a AAA Vita title. I’d pay $39.99 in the store for a physical copy, but certainly some kind of discount is warranted for digital delivery. $35 seems reasonable. $49.99 is just plain crazy and greedy.

At the very least, I’d like to see it go on sale for a reasonable discounted price, if not made Free for PS Plus.

  • Great discount on Metro! but for me it is just knytt underground. I would like to see Catherine and sounds and shapes for the IGC. Maybe next month? crossing fingers…
