  • I hope the Persona 4 Arena DLC is on discount tomorrow.

  • @46 your right man these things arent anything around 75% of………:s what the hell , disappointed…..

  • the problem with digital games are they always are at full price. Doesnt matter how long the game has been out the price never goes down (99% of the time). Where as in the physical store they lower the prices and eventually clearance out the inventory that doesnt happen digitally. This is one, along with the overall non-cheaper pricing) of the main reasons I will never buy into the digital distribution and stick with physical.

  • It’s easy to spot greedy companies by the price at which they sell their nearly 2 year old games. StarHawk, the one Sony product, under $17, Call of Duty…..damn-near 70. You trolls stop blaming Sony for this. Publishers dictate the price at which a game can be put on sale. Why they choose not to at least COMPETE with retail though, is beyond me.

Sometime it really does seem like SONY is the only company out there that isn’t consumed with greed. Or at least one of the very few.

  • BEST BUY
B2G1 FREE ON ALL PRE OWNED GAMES

buy 3 game son this list and just pick the dlc you want or a season pass or whatever either way you’ll save

    POST YOUR DEAL BELOW

  • Might spring for the Batman one or the Starhawk one.

  • Not a fan of these types of sales. Let’s face it. These are the types of blockbusters that inevitably drop in price to bargain bin levels. I’d prefer you were leaving out the DLC and simply dropping the price to the bargain levels I’m talking about. Then if I really like the game I will probably buy the DLC at full price. And people that already own the game would prefer you just put a sale on the DLC.

If this sale was dropping all of these games to $10 w/o the DLC, then I’d be interested.

  • Persona 4 ultimate arena is region locked. I cant even play the timed trial.

    Any way around this?

  • Yea, these aren’t 75% off….make em 75% off so I can spend my money. UE’s like MGR, 19 bucks off of 63 is not 75%. More like 30-40 percent off. This is stupid -_-

  • Wait I have question is the 65% off ‘For a limited time’? or these Ultimate editions?

  • These deals are too cool!!!!!!!

  • @62

These are the kinds of people that Sony loves.

  • i’m one of the first that complains when Sony is not doing something right, but come on people there are some great deals there. Maybe not on the same level as Steam’s deals…

  • Never mind read it a few times over. get it now. & I must say, as a person who never really complains, These games could have been lowered. Especially with E3 around the corner. I’m sure every gamer is excited right now so lower deals would = more people buying = more money. But that’s just an opinion…

  • I can do a better job pricing than those absurd Discounts Prices:
    Assassin’s Creed III Ultimate Edition
Total Value of the Game with all DLC (Paid & Free): $87.93
    PSN Price: $69.99 > $49.99 ($62.99 > $39.99 for PlayStation Plus members)

    Batman: Arkham City Ultimate Edition
Total Value of the Game with all DLC (Paid & Free): $57.95
    PSN Price: $28.99 > $19.99 (Permanent Drop) ($23.19 > $14.99 for PlayStation Plus members)

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Ultimate Edition
Total Value of the Game with all DLC (Paid & Free): $99.99
    PSN Price: $69.99 > $49.99 ($62.99 > $44.99 for PlayStation Plus members)

DmC Devil May Cry Ultimate Edition
Total Value of the Game with all DLC (Paid & Free): $74.96
    PSN Price: $52.49 > $44.99 ($47.24 > $39.99 for PlayStation Plus members)

    Far Cry 3 Ultimate Edition
Total Value of the Game with all DLC (Paid & Free): $69.98
    PSN Price: $55.99 > $39.99 ($50.39 > $34.99 for PlayStation Plus members)

TRANSFORMERS: Fall of Cybertron Ultimate Edition
Total Value of the Game with all DLC (Paid & Free): $89.99
    PSN Price: $62.99 > $24.99 ($56.69 > $19.99 for PlayStation Plus members)

  • I have to agree with the overall complaints on PSN pricing. It never has been very competitive with the retail market. In most cases, it’s like they aren’t even trying to be competitive. Steam gets it. PSN does not. The only way a couple of these end up being good deals is with a PS Plus membership, but then you’ve already paid out extra money for that.

If digital distribution is indeed the way of the future for consoles, I would strongly suggest Sony learn from Steam on how to be competitive in pricing. It could give them a solid leg up going forward.

  • @66 – are those Amazon retail prices you’ve added in there? I looked a bit on Amazon. The retail games are definitely a lot cheaper, but I’m not sure how much DLC plays into the price.

I will likely pick up Starwawk. That’s the one that looks like a deal to me.

  • What a shame.

Batman GOTY is $16 on Amazon.com. This includes ALL of the DLC,

Yet Sony is charging close to $30 for non-Plus members? That makes no sense at all. Why rip-off your most loyal customers?

    And that’s just one game….

  • El_Borracho_CGT

batman ac goty cost $16.23 on amazon, and assassins creed cost 29.99, and you can get the season pass at 29.99, is cheaper than these “discounts”, and you get the disc.

  • @68, not really, I just judged off the base of how long ago the title released and the different sale prices retail had
So a median + DLC price

Bundle means that both the Main Game + DLC get substantial cuts

Not, “Hey guys, that 6-12+ month old game that used to retail for $60 and now is < $30 in retail, well how about we give you some savings, base game will now be $40 from the original MSRP (Your already saving $20 WOOT!) + we'll throw in the DLC, all of them, usually $30-$40, but you'll get it for $20-$30, saving you another $10, a $30 savings, come on guys it's steal!… of us taking you wallet to the cleaners, it's still a steal!"

  • You call these Ultimate Deals? What a joke.

  • @66

LOL, shame if they do not take your advice.

  • As for the person not believing it is Sony.

Why would it be offered for less elsewhere?

  • Like 2 of them actually 75% off, everything else is still like $50, great managing.

  • TriangleOffense

Yeah this isnt helping push people towards digital sony. your prices (whether set by you or the publisher) are still way to high to even be considered.

You had a flash sale in Dec for AC3 that had the full retail, the season pass and the vita game for less than your so called bundle now. Every game on that list can be gotten cheaper on amazon and even if you got all the DLC you would still save money buying retail, then factor in the fact that you can resell the game when your done and it is currently a no brainer.

These deals can be great so please understand I support he digital movement when it is priced right but this is not one of those moments

  • Assassins Creed 3 and Modern Warfare 3 is still high even with a sale. Not sure If I’m grabbing anything. Maybe Max Payne 3.

  • For those who can’t read (a bunch of you, apparently), the article says “UP TO X% off”, and Star Hawk UE is indeed 65% / 75% off, for PSN/PS+. They only need one game in the sale to hit those numbers in order to advertise it that way. And oddly, it’s the only Sony game, so stop complaining about them being greedy or not knowing how to put things on sale. All the other games are Ubisoft, Activision, WB Games, Capcom, etc. Complain to them about having crappy sales on PSN. They control their own pricing.

As for DLC-only sales, I don’t know about those who are complaining, but I’ve gotten a bunch of DLC recently from sales, like Deus Ex:HR and Sleeping Dogs (after they added it to the IGC). They do in fact have DLC sales, they’re just less common, and tend to not be advertised, as they come out on a game-by-game basis, rather than a big promotion.

  • @64

A deal assumes that it is a better price than you can get elsewhere. These are ALL higher prices than standard retail price, so no, there are no good deals here.

  • The Max Payne 3 Ultimate Edition and Batman Arkham City are the best deals.

  • @78 Sony should be ashamed regardless for even promoting this overpriced sale to begin with. Especially with how hyped this deal was on the last Blogcast.

  • Hey, if you keep giving us shi**y games,at least give us good discounts on new games and old games. How come we get trash games and EU PS+ subscribers get new and good games?Let’s see what EU subscribers get this month :
    Entering PS Plus in June:
29th May: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
29th May: ICO and Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection
    29th May: Demon’s Souls
5th June: Rayman Origins PS Vita
5th June: Coconut Dodge Revitalised PS Vita
And what do we get?Garbage games, that’s what we get .IF YOU CAN’T GIVE US THE SAME GAMES,THEN GIVE US GREAT DISCOUNTS ON NEW AND OLD GAMES!

  • I’d totally pick up a digital $20 or less UMvC collection, Capcom. Y’hear?

  • I was excited to purchase some games but these deals are terrible. Should have separated the games from the DLC and I surely would have bought something. This does not entice those who have the game or want to try the game before investing in the whole package. I was really hoping for Ascension. Next deal I suppose. Hopefully these deals are perfect for somebody. Thanks Sony.

  • @81 (Ryumoau)
Not to mention, you guys now have to wait until next week for the Vita game that’s actually GOOD…

  • fede01_8 .. it may seem that way at first. until you look on amazon and see the prices are much better and cheaper. i was going to bite on batman or max pain until i saw that.

  • You call this a sale? You serious? Everything on that list you can get cheaper elsewhere when they are NOT on sale (and that is factoring in DLC). Yeah, this is a steal alright, but we are not the ones stealing here. You should be ashamed for even calling this anything close to a sale.

  • LOL

  • Apparently the prices for these ultimate editions are not good for american gamers. But in my country, this prices are great, great bargains.

DmC for example, is sold at retail for about $80, without any kind of DLC, so even if didn’t know about tomorrow’s sale and bought the game right now for $60 on PSN, I would be saving money. Thus, if I have the chance tomorrow to get the game and all the DLC for less than $50… man, that is ridiculously cheap for me.

Another example: Sleeping dogs is sold at retail in my country for around $50-$55. So you can see why PS+ is great value for a guy like me. That game alone was worth my year of plus. Anything else I get is a gain. And I get A lot from plus.

Games take a LONG time to get price reductions, and there are few retailers, every one of them asking lots of money for games. If I wanted to wait until I can buy DmC for $20 at retail in my country, I would be waiting for about 3 years.

So I can practically pay whatever the PSN asks and I’m still getting deals every single time (compared only to the retail options in my country, of course).

  • NoNE-lefT-AliVE

Definitely picking up Far Cry 3!

  • No thanks to digital downloads, ever. Retail media–discs, instruction manuals (now nearly completely gone), cases… you know, tangible objects you can hold.

Not to mention that this prices are embarrassing. Whoever set these was seriously on that pipe or bottle pretty hard.

Steam does amazing things by putting games at like… $5 goty editions. Those are the only digital downloads I’ll ever accept.

  • How about without the DLC?

  • These “deals” are beyond atrocious.

Also for everyone who is actually thinking about buying these because you’re too lazy to shop on Amazon or drive to a store, I would advise against it. They did this same type of sale last year, then a week later 2 of the games were added to the IGC.

  • @66

Now that’s how thse deals should be priced I’d drop $100 easy then

Whoever reads these comments at Sony you have to understand although you may not set the prices it reflects on your store THE PLAYSTATION STORE. People can begin to think its you Sony no the publisher. So you have to find a way to get prices to adjust to retail levels or its bad business for you.

  • Here I was hoping for to see Warriors Orochi 3 on the list but still no luck.
There’s some great games in here, but not particularly at an amazing discount.

  • Not sure why people are so upset about the prices. Sony can’t compete with Steam because of the shear numbers they sell during sales. PC games do not have a resale market since most have CD Keys to prevent that. You can’t. Compare prices of PC games that do not have a resale market with PS3 that does.
I admit the prices aren’t fantastic, but they’re not horrible. I love the digital market, I started when the PSP Go came out and was lucky that 95% pf the games I could play on my Vita.
While not at launch, I expect at some point the PS4 to backwards compatible for digital content at the very least, just like PS3 did.

  • @96 agreed. There is no way that the sales are going to be like Steam sales and I have bought a few digital games that were cheaper then you could buy in stores and even on Amazon.

  • What’s the basis for any of these base price totals? Too weary to check, but I’d wager they’re each, individual piece of DLC, rather than packs, just so the sale price looks better. For instance, is that AC3 + Season Pass + stragglers, or is it AC3 + George pt.1 + George pt.2 + … + stragglers?

If I had none of a game’s content, then my basis for the Ultimate Edition would be the game, its add-on bundles, and any unbundled add-ons, not each and every bit on its own.

  • I picked up Assassin’s Creed III new for $20 at Staples this week. I still feel burned after last years deals buying Just Cause 2 only to have be free on PS Plus the next week.

  • Hi I bought an R3 PS3 when I was visiting Singapore but my account is R1 will I still be able to pay and play:
    Persona 4 Arena Ultimate Edition
Two months after the ending of the hit RPG Persona 4, a new threat has emerged in Persona 4 Arena!
Total Value of the Game with all DLC (Paid & Free): $59.91
PSN Price: $39.99 ($27.99 for PlayStation Plus members)

Or is it region locked based on my machine?
