  • I think i’ll get the persona 4 arena just to have it on my ps3

  • ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I had just purchased Metal Gear Rising at full price about a week or two ago, and now there’s an Ultimate Edition for just $3-$4 more… I think I’m going to faint. I went and bought it after seeing it wasn’t even a part of the PlayStation All-Stars sale.

  • how long does these deals gonna last cause i’m insterested in the max payne 3 and batman arkham city starhawk and transformers bundles.

  • I might actually sell my disc of starhawk and pick up the ultimate edition. For newbies to it you have a great game for $16. But as for the rest what made the utimate deals so appealing was there price point. (15-30) but 40 is past my impilse spending limit so I’ll pass. But the fact they are newer games is cool (DmC and Metal Gear rising for example) very cool. I’ll pass but I know more good stuff to come. sorry for the ramble

  • Sony you can do better than these asbsurd discounts..prices are overinflated and you’re making it look like it’s a huge sale..some are decent but ive been wanting MGS R but the prices arent all that even for a PLus member..

  • Good deals

  • You guys don’t NEED to buy these games. You people get that, right?

  • PrimeroIncognito

    @ Onibokusu

I just don’t understand why they weren’t complaining BEFORE the sale…

The price drops and suddenly they have complaints. It’s all backwards thinking, for sure.

I don’t know if it’s the fluoride in the water, or the current dumbed-down school system these kids are being exposed to, but something is surely out of whack with this new generation of gamers. I never thought I’d see the day… but here it is. Gamers used to be the brilliant, insightful types, capable of flat-out embarrassing their meatheaded peers and even most adults in any type of debate, ranging from academics, logical thought, technological processes, mathematics, music, and even regularly spoke many words of wisdom at a young age that revealed experience and understanding of the world beyond their years.

Nowadays, the majority of gamers are the aforementioned meatheads. Lazy and clumsy, ungrateful and narrow-minded, rude and belligerent, petty and selfish.

Where did all the smart people go? :|

  • So is the “Ultimate Arkham City” basically just the digital “Arkham City GOTY”?

  • Hope MGR DLC is on discount.

  • @108 …What the hell are you even talking about? Talk about overreaction.

And no, we don’t HAVE to buy these games, but as CONSUMERS, we have the absolute right to complain when we feel we are being stiffed. The complaints aren’t baseless. Yes, some of the comparisons to steam are unfair, but what about the current RETAIL prices of the disc version?? I cannot see how to defend that, seriously.

Your overlong rant about children being unintelligent and blah blah was completely unnecessary, and you come off as one of those very people you describe. Jeez.

  • PrimeroIncognito

Nah dude, I’m just talking, expressing my thoughts. Not “overreacting”.

And the reason you feel you’re being “stiffed”, well, I kinda explained that above. But allow me to just give you one example. Let’s look at Max Payne 3, for instance. When that game was released, it was $59.99, correct? And if anyone thought it was worth that much back then, it would still be worth that much to them now, since, you know, it’s all sentimental value anyway once you become involved.

And now, here it is on sale, the full game along with all the additional content, for only $21 ($30 if you’re not a Plus subscriber). Either way, Plus subber or not, it’s a significant price break. How could anyone have a problem with that? The other games are the same way. Just add up all the DLC, hell, the numbers are even there for you to compare already.

By the way, wiseguy, if you feel you’re being stiffed here, shop around. There are options out there. Use them. Why the @!#$ are you crying like a baby with a dirty diaper over the price of a freakin’ video game on a single storefront. Talk about overreacting… heh heh…

  • Crying like a baby, hilarious dude.

Once again, here’s a simple example for you to consider. Batman GOTY edition, which includes all DLC and the main game is $16 on amazon. For this “Ultimate Deal”, $23. Discount? I don’t see how that’s a discount. The same applies to Assassin’s Creed + DLC.

There ARE options out there, but maybe raising our voices now encourages a better future for the PS Store, especially when a digital-only future is inevitable, when there will be no other OPTIONS. So yes, once again, the intelligent thing to do here is raise our voices and show our unhappiness with whats going on. Otherwise we’d be nothing more than a bunch of mindless rats running around.

  • PrimeroIncognito

Mindless rats… talk about overreaction again… hee hee ha ha…

Anyway, you failed to think about a few of the digital version’s advantages over the disc version.

But wait… first of all, if you people are just going to sell your games when you’re done with them, why buy them in the first place? Just rent them.

But anyway, remember that you get TWO downloadable copies when you purchase via the PlayStation Store. Double value right there. You also won’t run down the blu-ray drive, which is apparently quite fragile, while the hard drives are cheaper and more easily replaced. Also, a bonus advantage that almost NOBODY thinks of until years down the road when it’s too late (and I’ve mentioned this before), is when you suddenly get that urge to play that certain game again… because you bought it digitally, it’s always available to you, even years into the future, at no extra cost. Click download. Have fun. Yay. Whereas if you sold the disc, you have to go out hunting for it again, and spend more money.

  • I love you bro

  • PrimeroIncognito

It’s also not fair to compare ANY STORE to Amazon. That invalidates your argument right there. If you know how Amazon works, you know why they’re able to sell products at the prices they do. They almost always have better prices than brick-and-mortar stores do too, for the very same games. Better selection too, for obvious reasons. So, why don’t you go boycott Target, genius? Go ahead. Stand in front of Target with a sign and parade around screaming, “Prices are lower on Amazon!”. Someone will probably tell you, “yeah, but I don’t have to wait for it to be delivered.”

Everyone knows how awesome Amazon is. Somebody has to be the best. It happens to be Amazon. You want #2 to magically become #1? Does your team SUCK because they didn’t win the championship?

Business protocol varies from company to company, and thus, so does service, supply, and cost. It’s just the way it goes. Trying opening your own games business and see how far you get.

Stop acting like you’re going to save the digital future by complaining over insignificant nonsense.

  • PrimeroIncognito

    Your mom loves me too.

  • It doesn’t sound like this will be the case, but I hope individual dlc will be on sale. I’ve been wanting the Harley dlc for Arkham City for awhile, and I’ve gotten in the mood to play the game again with all the Origins news coming out right now

  • I always try to look at Plus discounts in the most favorable way possible, but I have to admit most of them are not substantial enough for me to consider them a steal or a massive discount.

There is one though that seems to be of good value, the Metal Gear Solid Revengance bundle. The DLC has been released recently if I’m not mistaken and goes for 17.00 alone. The disc version of Revengance is sitting at 41.00 at Amazon so I will be picking up the ultimate bundle of it tomorrow. Thanks!

  • I like these Ultimate Editions a lot, but I haven’t had the chance to get any of the just for the simple fact that I already own all the games that have been released so far.
So I would ask for you to consider us, the faithful customers, and release together with the Ultimate Editions, the Ultimate add-on bundles.
I’ll asure you it will be deeply appreciated by all of us who already own the games, and you will sell tons more.

  • Dang, alot of disappointing feedbacks. If you could understand Batman AC this is the 2nd time its been on sell in psn store and still prices are not cheaper then retail. 2nd sell for Max Payne. AC3 has been on sell also for awhile all edition. Starhawk was givin free to ps+ memeber awhile ago minus the add ons but im sure if they like the game they would have all that by now. Call of duty MW4… really i gave my hard copy away when Black ops 2 came out, and i still play 1st Black Ops.

  • Not really looking to get to deep in to details. but hope point is made. Yeah there are a few good deals like DMC. My thing is for the games that are on sell more then once, if the sells didnt go up the first time what makes you think that they will the second time. Say i bought a previous sell DLC wasnt included then you end up paying just as much over all. Like most people feel, Games that has been put on sell or has a price drop do the same for the DLC if not included or atleast at some point in time.
I feel why people are upset that EU and JP get better Plus stuff. Im not understanding Why that is but we the people would like to know. And if you guess deside to say “this came from the people/us feedback”, lol the from these feedback i say that is untrue. But dont you think we the Plus and other should put these things to a vote. Im sure you guys are not just picking them from a hat, or that you only had these 10 to pick from to put up.
Where and what is up with Ratchet and Clank FFA?

  • Soooo, just 2 deals are 75% off the regular price… Hope for next deals you’ll give better discounts for +.

  • Any information regarding the total download size for Arkham City Ultimate Edition?
I’m interested in the deal, but my HDD space is very limited…

  • Dang! That’s some freakin’ good deals! o-o I might actually buy Metal Gear Revengance for a price like that.

  • I was really excited for this sale after seeing the games. Then I came here and saw the prices and I lol’d. These prices are a complete joke. No wonder digital hasn’t taken off yet. Why would I pay the same or more for digital?

  • I never leave comments but I was excited for this sale after I head about it on the podcast. This is disappointing because I can get these games at retail for cheaper.

  • Got to say The deals you set out today just Suck. You do know we can get most of these games cheaper at Amazon or just at any other retail store do you not? You may want to call a meeting and talk about what a REAL sale is and next week give us one with a apology for calling this weeks sale a “Sale”.

You guys are just crapping on PS+ and most importantly your consumers with this kind of BS.

  • What the… I have just bought Max Payne 3 in previous week, now it’s discount

  • So this blatantly proves you guys just don’t BOTHER with doing ANY research is that correct? Look if you want digital only games to sell, you HAVE to take into account whats out their and that a DD only game has a lower value in general.

Along with a majority of theses games being like 20 bucks without the DLC, for physical copies, and some of the DLC would barely make them 30-40 total, (How the world are you selling MGS :R and Transformers for like around 60?!)

You have to remember, the lose in resale value, the fact you are cutting out the middle main, no physical copy, which means less for you on a material stand point, the lack of being able to let friends play, if the sony store goes down one day we lose our copy. Etc. Etc.

DD games just aren’t the same value as a physical copy, and you need to realize this quickly.

  • Also I understand it’s UP TO % off, but why even bother having 65-75% off if none most of them are barely 30-40% off IF that, can’t you guys even do math correctly?

  • @Pierre

are we ever going to get the Witches and Knights sale that EU had weeks ago? That was a REAL deal that had many titles offered.

  • I am a listener to the Sony Blogcast. Last week when Sid mentioned that there were going to be “unbelievable deals next week” (this latest update), I was excited! Now looking at these “incredible deals”, I must say that my trust in the Sony Blogcast has weakened. These prices for the Ultimate Editions are not priced well at all! Very disappointing!
I agree with the majority of the posts that mention the pricing being inflated compared to current MSRP. Sony, stop messing with your hardcore fanbase and give us some good deals. For the most part, the games listed for the ultimate editions are good games, but the pricing is way off. A lot of use feel like you are trying to convince us that it’s a good deal when it really isn’t.

  • Only disc-based games…?….damn whats up with that?….nothing for me of course.Need PSN titles.

  • Unless you can’t wait to have all content at once for some odd reason, these are not good deals. Research titles as you can get in many cases the base game much cheaper, and some GOTY or adding add ons later are a better deal.

  • Uh… has it updated for anyone?

  • COD is nowhere near worth $70 even with the environment skins.

  • Ok so it’s 3:33PM here…and I still dont see any of these games on PSN. So what time are they going to be up?

  • overall not a great deal. now if they had mass effect 3 dlc bundle or game and dlc then we talking.

  • Some of these deals…. Meh, not so great. BUT, the persona 4 arena deal is awesome. I can get the game at gamestop’s used price and get all the dlc for free. I really love plus sometimes.

  • @ PrimeroIncognito I couldn’t agree with you more…PEOPLE STOP COMPARING DIGITAL TO DISC, ITS LIKE COMPARING APPLES TO ORANGES!!!! There are define advantages to digital that some people are just too ignorant to understand. The main reason for me (above all else) is that my brother and I can essentially get two copies of the game for the price of one. He lives 2 hours away so this allows the game to be in 2 different locations at the same time, so we can play together if we so choose. A hard copy of a game doesn’t allow this for obvious (unless you are completely ignorant) reasons. Another reason to purchase digital over actual disc is they are virtually indestructible (won’t scratch, crack, get lost, or eaten by the neighbors dog) and will only stop working when your hard drive does, great if you have kids. Before anyone starts talking about the advantages of hard copies just stop and don’t waste your time because I already know them.

  • @141

glad to see the sony defense squad in full force today. Anyone defending these rip-offs is an idiot, plain and simple.

  • PrimeroIncognito

    @ Ryumoau

Oh look, the anti-corporate “I’m such an independent rebel but spend all my money on corporate products anyway while bashing indies like a confused moron” squad is out in full force. You guys are really scary with all your threats of not spending money… but then spend money anyway.

And why do you always attack someone who agrees with me? Heh heh… It’s good to know I’m still getting under your skin even though you like to pretend that you don’t read my posts. :)

D_R_O_Z made completely valid points and all you could do was plug your ears and say “lalalala I can’t hear you!”

What a weakling. You’re just mad you didn’t think of those things first. Crybaby.

So, why do you buy so many avatars?

  • PrimeroIncognito

Don’t worry, I’m not expecting an answer. I know you’re just going to sit there and pretend like you didn’t read my post, like you always do. Just read it, know you got schooled again, and say nothing in return.

You’ve got no argument anyway. And you know it.

But still, don’t be afraid to throw your points out there… I mean, yeah, I’ll tear them to shreds and embarrass you with the greatest of ease, but still… just do it anyway. Please? I’m begging you… I’ve got the itch…

  • @142 Ryumoau I’m not quite sure where in my post I was defending the sale prices, can you help point that out for me? Oh you can’t? That’s probably cause I didn’t. I was merely pointing out why I prefer digital over disc. Another thing you have to consider is games sitting in a store that a developer/publisher has already put onto disc and shipped is someone’s capital ( Be it the publishers or store that is selling it), if it is not selling on the shelfes it is considered excess inventory. If you know anything about economics you know about supply and demand. Obviously if there’s a bunch of inventory that is sitting on the shelfes and nobody’s purchasing it they’re going to lower the prices. With digital there is no inventory and that is the biggest contributing factor to why digital downloads stay priced higher than physical media, they are in no hurry to sell them. And to say that anybody that supports the sale prices is stupid is just not true. My Batman Arkham City Ultimate Edition is installed on two ps3’s right now, i paid $23, $23 divided by 2 is $11.50. Find 2 new GOTY copies on amazon for under $23 then you can call me an idiot.

  • I have Batman: Arkham City without any of the DLC, yet. I understand that if I buy the disc of the GOTY edition, I won’t be able to use my save file (this is VERY annoying). But if I buy the Ultimate Edition bundle of Arkham City, will I be able to use the DLC with my disc version of Arkham City non-GOTY or does it only work with the DLC GOTY version that I buy? I want to use the DLC with my disc so I can continue to use my save file.

  • Damn, wish this stayed up for a little longer. Was gonna grab it today but it’s over. :(
