Daft Punk – Random Access Memories

SEN Update 5-24-2013

It’s rare that an artist’s new material becomes a “no brainer,” for most listeners, but in spite of Daft Punk’s notorious elusiveness, they’ve been one of the biggest conversations in the music industry since they ever-so-simply updated their website with their iconic helmets. Fans didn’t think twice about checking out the infectious single, “Get Lucky,” which has run rampant on the airwaves. They originally started working on this album side-by-side with the critically acclaimed TRON Soundtrack, but after being unhappy with the result, they quickly switched gears to include live studio musicians, a seismic shift from their synth-heavy past. However, this sound is undeniably Daft Punk and an evolution that best matches the movement that has occurred leading up to this album and will sure to send shockwaves for a while to come.

Thirty Seconds To Mars – Love Lust Faith + Dreams

SEN Update 5-24-2013

Jared Leto and co. hardly took a minute to sit down after the release of This is War and a Guinness Book of World Record-breaking tour (309 shows over two years.) While rumors had swirled that there may not be another album following the highly conceptual 2009 release, the band quickly got their post-road bearings and jumped back into the studio, creating yet another group of thematic songs, this time following the four main ideas in the title of the album. After massive success over three previous albums, the band has earned their big entrances, which included a first-ever debut of a commercial single debut aboard the International Space Station SpaceX CRS-2. The band embarks on an overseas tour next month, later hitting Australia and Japan as well as one stop in San Diego in September, likely accompanied by other US dates TBA (fingers crossed).

French Montana – Excuse My French

SEN Update 5-24-2013

If our Music Unlimited charts are any indication, French Montana is about to be the next big thing. For a Freshman album, it certainly doesn’t hurt to have Diddy at the helm as executive producer, alongside a long list of Hip-hop Seniors, including Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Wale & more. It might be a bit overwhelming for a debut album, with some of the strongest points coming from the shadows of his collaborators. However, with over 20 mix tapes under his belt, the huge success of “Pop That,” and his it’s clear that this baby deer will soon be able to stand on his own legs sooner than later.

  • I would just like to say thanks for posting.

Also I am really getting a tremendous value from my subscription. I’ve been listening while at work and home. With the different channels it allows a random selection of things to enjoy. I can also just listen to a whole album too.

  • Tech issue:

I can’t get the Daft Punk album to play offline. I can add it to my library. It shows up there, but once I go offline no songs to be found. I’ve tried both Vita and my S3, no go.

  • I’m really enjoying the MU service on the PS3, though I wish there was some way to easily switch to listening to the entire album of a song that comes up on one of the music channels. Currently I have to first hit triangle button to add the album to my music library, then hit select button to go to my library, then find the album (assuming I still remember the exact name) to start listening to it. And in some cases I don’t really want the album saved to my library until I can first hear more of it. It seems like an option when I hit triangle (or square) while listening to a song should be to listen to the album (not just play artist channel, which often times there isn’t one).
    Thanks!

  • Question for the SEN folks

Why can’ I use my paypal account to add funds to my brother’s EU account wallet. Wanted to buy him a movie while he gets used to studying overseas but I can’t at least not on SEN.

Greetings from Mexico. I have a suggestion for service in Mexico: the ability to purchase the unlimited music subscription with my wallet instead of my credit card.
Apologies if I do in this blog, but in the Latin American blog never answer the suggestions.

  • SONY NEEDS TO USE THE TRACK “CONTACT” FROM THE NEW DAFT PUNK ALBUM WHEN REVEALING THE PS4 AT E3. THE BUILD UP IN THAT SONG IS INSANE!! :D

  • Random Access Memory Album : “If You Like: Justice, Empire of the Sun, Gorillaz”
Well Gorillaz are my fav musical group EVER!, Justice is AWESOME! and Daft Punk has always been near the top of my list of artists so when I read that and thought about how awesome the album is I said… NO DUH!!

  • lower the 1 day rental prices on psn store for videos. $2.99 for standard definition is crazy considering you can get a Blu ray disk for cheaper at Red Box for the same amount of rental time.

  • Where’s the blogcast for this week? It’s Friday night and I don’t see it anywhere. It would sure be nice if it was posted the same day every week.

  • Is this strictly only to US consumers? To be able to rent or purchase movies? I’m from NJ but moved to Costa Rica. And I’ve tried to purchase or rent movies but it doesn’t let me. Even with Unotelly on it doesn’t let me. All I can do is buy games.

  • I LOOOOOOOVE DAFT PUNK :)

  • im having problems with my sony music unlimted I always listen to the r&b radom staion for some resion it shows what is playing but its not playing and when I refreash the page it says exceed the limt alowed

  • Dangisuckatgamin

That Daft Punk album was VERY disappointing. I liked the first song and just a couple after.
It’s nothing worth buying though… the singing on some were TERRIBLE.

  • So… My 2009 PS3 was always having corrupted data making downloaded games unplayable with huge lag and frame skips. It was awful! Then… I got me a new 2012 Slim PS3 so I could have HDD space and be able to play games without all the corrupted data issues. I was very happy to change from a 120GB to a 500GB PS3. I BACKED UP, yes, BACKED UP my video content in order to have it on my new Slim PS3 but… Now even though I have my already downloaded Video Content on my new PS3. The content asks to renew licence. When entering the Store to accomplish the requested action. It says I no longer own the content and need to rebuy it. Wow! The PSN Store and new Policies just robbed me of over $100 worth of already paid for video content. Just cause I bought a new PS3 and BACKED UP the videos/3D movies from the old PS3 to the new PS3? Thank you so much PSN. I appreciate it. Nothing better than going on the system, disable it from video content in order to make the new PS3 enabled for my video content to then find out I actually lost everything. Thx again.

  • Oh! Then… I call and get nothing resolved. Classic. So… I try online chat and guess what? They said I would receive an email confirming and giving me my video content access back. I was, like, YES! Finally, justice! Oh! But it was all a lie. I got lied too. Believe that? Never got an email or the access granted back to my already paid for content. Now that’s what I call getting truly chopped and screwed. Thx PSN guys! Thx!

  • Daft Punk made the album of the year. Everyone should buy it.
