The Last of Us arrives in just a few weeks. We’re happy to let you know you can pre-order the full digital edition of the game starting today on the PlayStation Store. The game will be a Day 1 Digital download — this means you can get it at midnight on June 14th. The digital edition features a unique download installer which will allow you to start playing the game once the game data is a little over half way downloaded.
The Last of Us is a universe rich in character and story with many facets that we could potentially explore for years. We’re getting started by announcing that there will be three packs of downloadable content for The Last of Us available after the game launches.

I don’t have the most HDD space on my PS3, so if I’m going to pre-order the digital version, I’m going to need a file size estimate. At least a ballpark number to wrap my head around. Not that I can’t delete something from my HDD, but it’s pretty valuable information.
Even being SP DLC I’m only interested in the documentary…now if it was side-mission DLC well the talk would be another…anyway what happened with our demo on GoW ascension?…..did you guys forget that?….been waiting eager for that.Also it was a huge mistake to put MP on TLoU but its UC2 team and since you guys made the best MP ever I’ll give it a try.
As long as people keep paying for DLC, they will keep releasing it… Now we get this… The game is not even out and the Season Pass is already up, DLC prices disclosed… Thanks a lot, people.

so, I order this “Special Post-Pandemic Edition” which is is paid in full, which does not include at least a mini artbook, and not even the day one bonus?! C’mon guys, that post-pandemic was almost $200 now if I want to experience this game fully i have to drop $20? c’mon man, this is ridiculous and you guys are getting out of hand with this crap of DLCs! I know is my choice to buy or not but there is nothing “special” about these editions…. thinking heavily of cancelling my order man… I really love Sony and their games, but this is Ridiculous!
Season Pass and DLC? You guys have not even given the Multiplayer details but yet you are already trying to pump my wallet for more cash that supports this unknown multiplayer. That is sick.
For those who are confused, the Last of Us Retail copy does not have the Season Pass. Eric Monacelli is just letting you know you can buy the Season Pass Day 1 from retailers also.
In case anyone was curious you also lose out on one of the DLC packs pre ordering on the network instead of retail. (The Survival Pack is excluded from digital preorder)
To all of the people complaining about the preorder/season pass in relation to the HUGE lack of information about about the game:
Don’t preorder it. Seriously. If everyone stopped preordering games that they don’t know anything about then it would shift the way the market works. I’ve put a personal boycott on preordering, and I wish many more people would. I know that it’s not going to happen, but I refuse to take part in something so asinine. Sometimes I’ll quickly preorder a game if the publisher lifts the review embargo early enough for me to get an idea, but that’s about it.
I don’t blame Naughty Dog, they’re stuck in this messed up system like everyone else. Sometimes I don’t like the fact that my favorite childhood hobby got so popular.
This post just makes me feel like giving you $60 ahead of time wasn’t enough for you. This post only adds confusion and doubt to those who were sure to pre-order or purchase the game on day one.
“These Day 1 bonuses will help you get a head start and an edge”. What about the people who only pre-ordered the game, or even the collector’s editions, and not the season pass? Isn’t their early paid-in-full status worthy of an edge too?
Then to suggest to people who don’t want this season pass pre-order “edge” not to download them, but assume that they will still pay for them to get completely unknown content, plus a documentary – something that has been included in the base price of previous Naughty Dog games – is a bit contrary to the reputation and perception Naughty Dog has earned with the public over the years.

I’m looking at the things included in the various deluxe version and am sorely disappointed to see Freemium concepts of paying extra money to bypass part of the presumably less enjoyable grinding aspects and get to the good stuff quicker in a game that has a hefty $60 price tag. It is one thing to charge more money for collectibles, skins and additional content. It is quite another to be selling in game currency. I certainly hope this is not the new face of console gaming, because it is one that I have zero interest in.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: There is absolutely no credible reason why digital titles should be the same price as physical copies that you can buy in a store. If given the choice between digital and physical, most people (me included) would prefer physical, assuming both options are priced identically. I know some people cite convenience as a factor, but that just doesn’t cut it for me. I just don’t get why they would push this without a discount.
Question regarding the Season Pass. I’ll be picking up the Survival Edition of The Last of Us, unfortunately that won’t leave me with any money left for the season pass. If I purchase the season pass a few weeks after release will I still receive the Day 1 Bonuses?

You guys may not know but the brazilian version will be all set in portuguese. So, I just wonder if buying the game in U.K. I’m gonna be able to set sub or audio in portuguese.

Pre-ordered on Amazon about 5 months ago and will enjoy adding it to my collection of blu-rays! The Sony-Amazon partnership would’ve been nice just as it was when Killzone 3 came out.

I’ve been buying most of my games digitally now because I’ve had two PS3 blu-ray lasers break on me. So I download my games and then download it to two of my PS3s so that one of my friends can play it. Save a trip to the store and no tax either. I hope PS4 still allows me to do this, if so I’m eagerly looking forward to next-gen.

Hi, i am going on holiday for 3 weeks. Ive preordered last of us via psn store( digital) & have ps plus with auto download on.
As u guys are using your own downloader, will the game be auto downloaded to the console on game release ( it is listwed under games atm) or would i have to get someone to manually download it by clicking on your downloader?

I love digital downloads. I’m not a fan of physical disc that I have switch out or keep up with in any type of media (movies, music, etc). I hope that all future games have the option of a digital download, I cancelled my physical order of The Last of Us the day I found out I could download it on day 1.

When would The Last of Us be available for download digitally? In the PSN store (UK), the available package is only 137mb.
Just wondering if the download is 26gb then i might buy the disk but if the game disk still needs to install like 10gb any ways i just buy the download its almost 1/2 the game you installing any ways and still need disk to play it any one from sony/nd answer please quick i need to preorder like now before the weekends up to get the bonus dlc from gamestop and/or ebgames thanks for speedy answer
