PlayStation Plus: 3 New Fixtures in the Instant Game Collection

With E3 right around the corner, everyone here at PlayStation is putting the final touches on what’s sure to be an exciting event for gamers everywhere. Among other things, we’re excited to see PlayStation Plus continue to evolve, and we’re happy to announce the inclusion of three new PS3 Full Games.

With next week’s PlayStation Store update, we’ll welcome UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and LittleBigPlanet: Karting into the Instant Game Collection!

As many of you keenly observed in Monday’s PlayStation Plus blog post, three PS3 Full Games – LittleBigPlanet 2, inFAMOUS 2, and Ratchet & Clank All 4 One – have only four days left in the Instant Game Collection. This means that it’s your last chance to download these great titles as they’ll be stepping down after a year of faithful PS Plus service.

  • PS+ is amazing as always. You guys should have included this in the update on Monday, it would have helped to avoid the whiners.

    • We weren’t quite ready to announce at that time, but figured we’d give you guys a bit of pre-E3 goodness =)

  • On the bright side here you wont be hearing any complains here that EU gets the better stuff cos they are the same. May both EU and U.S complain together for a change!

  • Even more digital copies of games I already own- copies I can do absolutely nothing with. I can hardly contain my excitement.

  • AmaterasuOkami1

Nice! I’ll finally try to get into XCOM again when I have the time. I was pretty terrible at it when I rented the game for awhile. :(

  • Heh, that Uncharted 3 download size makes it impossible for me to even consider it (I only have an old 80gb model). Oh well.

  • Wow. How the hell can anyone complain about Plus? Now I’ll have another crack at platinuming U3, give Ironman another go on xcom and give Karting a go at long last!

  • Thank you, PS Plus for this amazing update! June is the best month I’ve seen thus far. Definitely grabbing LBPK and SR3. Already own GOTY Uncharted 3. Now if only Deus Ex were 3rd person, Square Enix wouldn’t just have my curiosity… they’d have my attention. ;)

  • LBP Karting & Machinarium! XD

  • Hell ya!

  • If i back in time, i shoulded replace my 160gb hd for one of 1tb, non 500gb like i did :(
I have to change my HD again….:D

  • Happy to get XCOM but I already have Karting and Uncharted 3. :(

  • Wow moment! I’m MOVED! O_O

  • EvyatarAtarEvyat

I’m VERY disappointed that you replaced Orc Attack with an old PSP game:(
And I still don’t know if we get the Vita version of Machinarium too please answer!

  • Really great! But I find that the support for Vita is still weak… Could we get some great game on PS+ for the Vita – Something that should bring people to buy a Vita just because of PS+ program! My Vita is taking DUST at the moment… sadly…

  • Anyone know anything about spartacus legends?

  • @terminode

Stop trolling, Uncharted 3 is the only one of these games that you have.

  • @mathff

Almost every great game on Vita has already appeared on Plus. Pretty much the only really high rated game to not appear on PS Plus so far is Persona 4 Golden.

  • Awesome!

  • IMHO the newer games are disappointing, Could try XCOM but the rest… don’t even think i will try

  • I’ve been debating subscribing to PS+ for awhile now. But now that Saints Row and Uncharted 3 (2 games I’ve been wanting but never seemed to getting around too) will be free.

I’m sold on PS+. Truly awesome

  • Nice selection this month! I’ve already played these three, but they are all very fun games, especially XCOM. More time to play Deus Ex and SR3!

    • I didn’t getting around to finishing Deus Ex myself, so will definitely be trying to sink my teeth into that one as well.

  • Great games! Really great games!

They are too great that I already have them. Nothing for me here. Bah!~ enjoy guys.

  • Very nice. This will be an amazing month for PS3 owners that have PlayStation Plus.

However, I have a minor gripe. in the future I hope Sony spreads the joy throughout the year rather than going for a big splash every June. I hope they rotate out one of these games every 3-4 months while rotating in other top quality titles. I hope no more than one of these games makes it the full year. Between PS3 and Vita long-term titles, Sony should rotate one core long-term title every month or two.

Another gripe, less minor in my opinion, is the skew of the major retail releases in the IGC collection towards “M” rated games. Three long-term non-M rated games are being replaced by 2 non-M games and 1 M rated game making the total of the collection’s major retail titles even more skewed towards games for adults. Please include more major retail releases that are E, E-10, and Teen rated.

    Good luck at E3!

    • Thanks for the feedback! You could look at it another way in that in the current Plus set-up, every month we usually take 5 titles, and replace them with 5 other titles. Usually it’s a nice mix of AAA titles, and gems you may have missed. So while the 3 may not rotate (as it helps us talk about Plus in longer lead time environments like retail; for example the PS3 bundle with Plus features the 3 previous ‘evergreens’), you’ll always have a new selection of games coming in.

  • I suppose the money I pay for the service should be enough, but I feel compelled to thank Sony for this great service. I bought a Vita recently, and it was wonderful to have at least a dozen really solid games to play right away on a new console. I’m with you dudes for the next generation for sure.

  • So do we get uncharted 3 multiplayer as well or this only the single player campaign?

  • AMAZING!! thank you to the team!

Nothing like Uncharted for the ones that didn’t had the chance to know the Drake’s more exciting adventure,LBPK, to know who rules in races, and XCOM! a great adventure!

Thank you so much guys,It’s a grat month for sure.Lovely!

  • PS+ is free for 30 days if you do the challenge in PS HOME E3 Event https://blog.playstation.com/2013/06/05/take-a-virtual-tour-of-playstations-e3-booth-in-ps-home/ Honestly this needs another highlight, so many good updates to Plus recently, it would be a shame if anyone passed this up. :)

  • Wow this is amazing !!!!!

  • @67 – Rayman Origins, Machinarium, LBP Vita, Mortal Kombat, Sine Mora, Sound Shapes, Lumines, Oddworld, Super Stardust, MGS HD, Dead or Alive 5 Plus, UMvC3, Street Fighter x Tekken, NFS: Most Wanted, Thomas Was Alone, Guacamelee, Soul Sacrifice, Dokuro, Hustle Kings, Sly Cooper…they all say “hello.”

  • Don’t suppose we could convince you to give us Uncharted 2 instead of 3?

Giving people Uncharted 3 is going to drive them AWAY from the series.

    • Uncharted 2 may be the taster’s choice among the astounding trilogy, but UC3 is a freakin’ amazing game on it’s own, imho.

  • And well done with these additions to PS+, Morgan and company. Can’t wait to try out XCOM (many outlets “Game of the Year” for 2012) and LBP Karting, as well as Virtue’s Last Reward.

  • Will I be able to download the UC3 Single Player seperately by itself? The Game of the Year Edition can’t fit on my harddrive :(.

P.S. I am definitely subscribing for another year this month :).
Hashimoto was right, I AM SO EXCITED FOR E3!

  • How are you going to be a Playstation gamer and dont like uncharted?
    lol
I have Uncharted 3 already, and I platinumed it.

I will enjoy LBP karting and probably buy some DLC for it. And XCOM I might go check out some vids on it.

  • @80 – You’re kidding, right?!

  • nothing for the vita. no suprises :( orc must die was replaced by a psp game.. whihc is so dissapointing….

  • Ok, it’s officially time to upgrade to a new HDD on my old 120GB PS3.

  • @69 – Have you even played SR3, Deus Ex, Machinarium, etc. before? How can you not try these full games out?! They are all fantastic!

  • @84 – Uncharted 3 was easily the worst game in the series. Uncharted 2 was WORLDS better in every way.

  • I hate that i have all three of the newly announced games. X-com:EU is such a great game. I hope Firaxis continues to making installments of this series like this one. LBPK is really fun especially for the little ones. I am looking forward to VLR. I hope there will be a plus update in the near future that the vita will also get a new barrage of AAA games for the IGC to replace Uncharted, Gravity Rush and Wipeout.

  • First Disgaea 3+. Now X-COM: Enemy Unknown. It’s turning into a nice year for the IGC.

  • @87
EU but i post in US blog
Would like Deus Ex though, And maybe Machinarium
Besides i was speaking about the yearly IGCs

  • PS+ is the best subscription service in gaming hands down, Thank you guys

  • I’m glad to see LBPK on there, here and abroad. Looks like there may be an upshot in people playing online now!!!! And very happy to see XCom on the IGC. My $4.17 per month subscription to Plus is really paying off in June.

  • I am a little disappointed to see so many shooters were getting. Uncharted 3 is a great game but don’t we already have an Uncharted game in our list of free games for Vita? Hopefully when Uncharted 3 comes to PS+ the Vita version will leave. Either way atleast we have a couple good games in Plus right now & I can’t say I haven’t gotten my $$ worth.

  • I’m really disappointed. You guys said you were listening to feedback. Many people told you that they didn’t want anymore PSP games for Vita+.

When Orc Attack was delayed, a PSP game was your first replacement?? Get real guys. Sunflowers, a $4 title, would have been leagues better. At least it’s an actual Vita title.

  • Amazing. I love u Sony. \o/

  • What about the IGC for Vita?

  • Awesome, I’m especially excited for XCOM. As a pretty avid gamer, I pretty much have all the Sony published titles that I want at this point (except GOW Ascension) so I was a little concerned that there would be nothing for me in this update. Throwing in a 3rd party game Like XCOM is awesome! Thanks!

  • Even though I own Uncharted 3 and Saints Row 3 on disc, I still like grabbing the digital versions so I can sell my discs while still being able to play the games.

I was really hoping Machinarium would be cross-buy with Vita. I bought and beat it day one on PS3, and I would have liked to play it again on Vita. But not enough to buy it again.

    Here’s my IGC wishlist:

God of War (all games in the series; digital versions of GOW3 & Ascension)
Grand Theft Auto (all games in the series)
    Guacamelee
    Hitman Absolution
    Machinarium (Vita)
    Max Payne 3
Metal Gear Solid HD (PS3), digital version of MGS4
    Red Dead Redemption
    Red Faction Guerrilla & Armageddon
    Uncharted 1 & 2

Also, could you add Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops to the Vita store? It’s available in all regions except North America, and it’s also the only MGS game I haven’t played!
