PlayStation Plus: 3 New Fixtures in the Instant Game Collection

With E3 right around the corner, everyone here at PlayStation is putting the final touches on what’s sure to be an exciting event for gamers everywhere. Among other things, we’re excited to see PlayStation Plus continue to evolve, and we’re happy to announce the inclusion of three new PS3 Full Games.

With next week’s PlayStation Store update, we’ll welcome UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and LittleBigPlanet: Karting into the Instant Game Collection!

As many of you keenly observed in Monday’s PlayStation Plus blog post, three PS3 Full Games – LittleBigPlanet 2, inFAMOUS 2, and Ratchet & Clank All 4 One – have only four days left in the Instant Game Collection. This means that it’s your last chance to download these great titles as they’ll be stepping down after a year of faithful PS Plus service.

You’ll find all the content detailed above with their Plus benefits active when the PlayStation Store updates on Tuesday; along with additional Plus content that was announced as part of the June preview, and special discounts as well.

Speaking of the June preview, with all this PS Plus content, this month is shaping up to be one of the best PlayStation Plus months yet. UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception (PS3), XCOM: Enemy Unknown (PS3), and LittleBigPlanet: Karting (PS3) are all dropping next week, joining Deus Ex: Human Revolution (PS3) which joined PS Plus last week. You’ll still have Machinarium (PS3), Saints Row The Third (PS3), Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward (PS Vita), and God Eater Burst (PSP, PS Vita compatible), all coming in June as well! It’s never been a better time to join up.

Good to have you back Morgan,hope you had a great vacation. Although I already own uncharted 3 i’m glad you guys didn’t add portal 2 as I bought it this week. All in all good update and can’t wait for E3.

Great additions for this month. I like to see the exclusives, as a lot of the multiplatform stuff I already own on PC. That being said, nothing wrong with including multiplatform stuff. X-COM is great, and one I didn’t already own, so… Awesome! I gotta say, Europe’s PS+ Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus HD, Demon Souls, and Rayman Origins are all great picks. I would love to see those hit the US store sometime in the future!

I also wanted to say that PS+ is a great program, and I hope it just keeps getting better with PS4. Good luck at E3. As long as Sony handles used games better than what Microsoft just revealed, I’m sure everything will be awesome!

I am extremely unhappy with how PS+ is handling my subscription. A Vita game should never replace a PS3 game. I’m a proud PS3 owner since the original release of the 60GB model. I’m a PS+ subscriber since December 2010 and am shocked to see how Vita games are shifting from being an addition to the PS+ service to now being a replacement to PS3 games. This is NOT FAIR. This is NOT what was promised to me as a PS+ subscriber.

  They’re going to hang around for a while for sure. Whether that’s a year, or some other time frame, is to be determined; but for the time being, you can count on seeing them as part of the Instant Game Collection for a good long while.

Question: will Catherine, War of the North, ICO HD and the other already existing stuff remain in Instant Game Collection? What about Uncharted Golden Abyss? Only the above mentioned three games will leave the palette? I’m planning on a 1-year subscription during the next weeks, so I’m really curious.

Also, if my memory works fine, Deus Ex and Machinarium already were featured in the Collection, right? Does this mean that there’s a chance, some games will be returning later? I still have regrets for not grabbing Sleeping Dogs and Hitman Absolution in time… :(

I’d like to add another voice to the “M” rated games. I’m not offended by them, but I too would like to see a few more non-m games rotated into the collection throughout the year.

You are better off posting those questions to the EU blog. Those games were all part of the EU PS+.

I can say that prior to the Instant Game collection, we had numerous repeats for the US PS+, but none that I can recall after the IGC came to PS+.

If I buy the digital copy of uncharted 3 will it come with normal multiplayer as no offense Free to play is always a rip off if you wanna pay that way :-D the content is awesome and amazing for plus way to much great stuff but I would rather pay and have a full copy of uncharted 3 :-D as I already plat the single player :-Pas for little big planet karting I brought that a few weeks ago i’m from England so I think thats the reason i’m always seeing nobody online on that game :-D

@110, the Vita hasn’t affected PS3 IGC one bit, do some research. Though technically it SHOULD be the focus going into the PS4 launch.

uhh important question here. i had borrowed uncharted 3 from a friend once and leveled up past the level limit on the free-to-play version of uncharted 3. how will it work with my account then? will continue to level up like normal or will i get frozen at that at that level? i had to buy my own online pass if that helps on it.

@128, apparently Orc Attack isn’t ready for release yet (delayed). Hopefully this “leak” means we do get it as IGC when it is finally ready though. Would be very disappointed if we don’t.

Of all the games we coulda gotten thats what was chosen? what about dead space 2, red dead redemption, heck motorstorm apocalypse or heck even playstation All stars woulda been better choices. I mean dont get me wrong Uncharted 3 is great… but look at all the stellar reviews and GOTY award it has? anyone who cares about PS3 enough to spend money on PS+ more than likely owns Uncharted already… try picking good./decent game that most ppl are less likely to have (i.e playstation allstars)

I don’t understand why they make all the games they discounted in the past free at some point later in time. It’s like they want to convince people not to pay for stuff on the playstation store, why the heck would they choose LBP karting, something they literally just discounted not to long ago one of the free games. Last time I pay for anything the store discounts.

Horrible if this is supposed to replace the original three games.

As much fun as UC3 was, that game is pretty old now and very very cheap.

Little Big Planet Karting has gone on sale constantly both in RL stores and the PSN. So a game that seems to have trouble selling and is incredibly cheap… sounds like Plus to me.

At least Xcom is a good game, for once being added to plus. It’s a shame they add games for rent so so long after release and with next to no warning, so those of us who would most enjoy Xcom probably already have it (also a game that’s had many sales).

Unless the PS3 Plus team is trying to prepare us for the PS4 by trying to make us do even more trade ins (of all the really old and cheap games they release) so we can download the rental instead, in addition to being terrible ever since the IGC started, it also makes little to no sense how it is run.

Way more great games than one could play (not to mention quite a few I’ve purchased long ago, Uncharted, Deus Ex and Xcom).

Finally going to get SAints Row. This one didnt seem to be my cup of tea, but hey, it’s free, it couldn’t hurt right?

Many thanksfor the update Morgan, and kudos for Sony. PS Plus is a looooot better than the paid service provided by another company that shall not be named here. ;)

This is finally an update that has me excited for all the games. I can’t wait to try XCOM…have been eyeing it for a while now. Already own LBP Karting. Love that Uncharted 3 is part of this…had it once but my ex swiped it. Now just need more top notch Vita games instead of all the indies. Love being part of the PS PLUS family!!!

Ouch, all new ps3 titles are ones I already have. Hopefully there will be some new sales, though I am extremely disappointed that the year long titles will not be a draw for me, probably won’t renew.
