Atomic Ninjas on PS3 and PS Vita

This is Jakub from Grip Games. A few weeks ago, I introduced you to our newest creation – Atomic Ninjas, for PS3 and PS Vita. I’m back with the very first gameplay trailer, to show you exactly what Atomic Ninjas is all about!

This 2.5D competitive shooter/platformer is going to be one of the most insane experiences you’ll ever have with your PS3 and PS Vita! You’ll fight in arenas full of danger against crazed ninjas in intense and funny matches. In order to win, you’ll have to outsmart and outflank your opponents.

As you can see in the trailer, you cannot directly kill other ninjas (thanks to massive amounts of radiation and their healthy lifestyle). But there are dozens of conveniently placed hazards, like lasers, lava pits and fire that will do the job! You just need to find a way to get your opponents there and not become a roasted turkey yourself!

To help you in this uneasy task, we have added lots of weapons and super abilities. You’ll be able to become invisible, fly on a rocket, use telekinesis, become an unstoppable hulk for a few moments, and many more. Killing also won’t be the only activity on the menu. You’ll be capturing flags, defending hills, chasing treasures … alone, or in teams. There’s always something to do!

Atomic Ninjas will be out later this summer on PS3, followed shortly by the PS Vita version. We will be bringing you a lot of news and videos in the coming weeks. If you want to see more right now, you can visit the official website, or join us on Twitter and Facebook for daily updates!

See you again soon!

Looks fun. Is there an online multiplayer component? Any chance it will be cross-buy?

Most of the game is online multiplayer component ;-) Playing against other people is the biggest fun. I cannot promise anything regarding cross-buy at the moment, but I would say that the chances it will go cross-buy are VERY high ;-)

seems like it could be a really fun game. Hoping it comes in around $5 or less so i can give it a shot! I hate over paying for games that practically depend on multiplayer only to find out that no one else purchased it an my purchase goes mostly unplayed.

Not the kinda games I usually play, but does look like a fun game for competitive multiplayers. I’m glad to see the Vita being supported too.

That actually looks like great silly fun! Something I’d love to play alone on my Vita, or with a bunch of friends on my PS3! can’t wait to see more.

Looks quite fun. Will Vita and PS3 players be able to play online with each other?

If not, is there single player with bots? This looks fun for Vita but I don’t have RL Vita friends.

Yes, PS3 and PS Vita players can play online together with each other. Also, if you own both consoles, your saves will be automatically synchronized between both.
And yes, there is also single player with ninja-bots.

Had no idea that this game even existed. I shall be picking it up assuming a reasonable $10ish price. Vita version for sure. Will look fantastic on that OLED with such bright colours.

Looks really fun but I do have to say, the sound design leaves a little to be desired. Still, I love that you guys went with the Smash Bros. philosophy on health. I wish more games would use that. It’s brilliant.

That’s right. There’s unfortunately no Platinum. But you’ll get 1 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze trophies. I am pretty sure there will be a demo for you to try.

This looks awesome, Grip! Super fun stuff – reminds me of 2.5D arena stuff like Crash Commando and even Smash Bros. The PSN – all digital stores, really – could use more fun stuff like this! This wasn’t on my radar at all, but now, I’ll do my best to pick it up Day 1! Whenever you guys get around to announcing a release date, that is :) Another awesome game for the PS3! Man, and here I thought we were getting spoiled by the PLAY 2013 lineup, then Sony starts busting out releases for stuff like Zeno Clash II, Do Not Fall looks fun, and now this? Keep the great downloadables comin’, Sony!

Looks good.

Maybe not the kind of game I would expect for Vita, but less than $10 and it will definitely be on my list of possible buys.

Cross Buy would help.

Even though this game isn’t for sale yet, I have already purchased it! Will buy for PS3, and when you decide to release the Vita version.. another buy! Thanks for the update, Jakub.
