  • Those complaining about PSP games appearing are apparently not heeding the rule to the right: “Don’t be a jerk.”

One very important point of the IGC is to offer a variety of games to its subscribers. Things like Machinarium and Oddworld don’t appeal to me but what I’ve so far received from the IGC more than makes up for it. I cannot, will not, and SHOULD not complain because lots of other people do like those sorts. And the fact that a title is a PSP game should not be contention; a game is a game. SOME OF US DIDN’T OWN A PSP and are getting acquainted with its library on PSP.

I appreciate what’s been up for grabs from Plus since the start of the IGC and would not have it any other way.

  • does anyone know how the online is in max payne 3 ? I can’t decide if I want the ultimate edition or regular one , the only extras are for online so if the online is dead or just plain sucks there would be no reason to spend the extra cash on online maps I’d never use .

reply here or message my psn if you have any input that will be of help in this decision .
definitely pumped for monsters on the go again , since I sold my psp and games to get the psvita I miss playing some of that sweet pixeljunk monsters tower defense when I’m out and have to play the ps3 version only . online co-op will make the vita game so much better

  • Hmm… I already own Dokuro. Getting a little tired of games like this and Knytt Underground coming to the collection, but I suppose a lot of that’s just that I already have them. Could we please get a full retail Vita title? Metal Gear Solid 2 or 3, maybe? Also, any chance we could get more Classics or at least discounts on them?

  • Oh , | forgot to put in my two cents for what is needed in a plus update at some point soon , I think we need a dlc sale instead of just games
put dlc for games we get free in the igc on sale a few weeks later or the next month , I sucks to get a free game and then find the dlc is another $10 , $20 or $30 more and either have to miss the dlc or pay way too much for dlc for an old game , some of those add-ons cost more than the game itself now and that is just too bad
talk to the developers you get the igc games from and suggest that they can make money on a dlc sale right after the game comes to the igc , profits are profits right ? selling 10,000 copies of a dlc bundle to plus members at a discount is better than 500 add-on sales to plus members who got the game free at full price

  • I think some PSP games play very well on my Vita, like Hot Shot Tennis: Get a Grip, and I don’t have a PSP. Amazing game, btw. If you like tennis games, you should give it a try.

However, I wish there were more special games on the Vita. To be honest, I’m having fun with some of the games available. However, even though the library has been increasing with time, I’m still waiting for more amazing games like Gacamelee, Stardust Delta, Plants vs. Zombies, Dokuro and Gravity Rush.

  • FYI Sony, it’s not really a sale if you’re just lowering the price of a game to temporarily match what you have to pay in Retail. Although for a game like max payne, I haven’t seen it in person for over 5.88 in a long long time.

    Another PSN game/not a full/real PS3 game for the BBRC… no thanks.

Guess I’ll go see what completely free, non-rental game, Xbox is giving us this week. They may give old mediocre games, but so does Plus, only xbox you can keep the games forever and there’s no extra fees for them.

  • meh shoulda typed full vita game instead of full ps3 but the point stands.

  • I am a proud PS+ member, but I have a question. It is not a complaint per se, but a question. Why does EU PS+ always seem to give a week or two notice on their upcoming lineup and USA waits until the last minute. For example, EU PS+ has known for 2 weeks what will be coming in August (NFS, MAFIA 2 wish we could get those games). Here we are on the 29th day and we are told we will be updated next week. It would be nice to know a little in advance. I have bought older games on sale or at clearance and then a week or two later the same games come out on plus. I could have saved some money if I had a little notice. Again this is not a complaint per se, but a question. I hope that I can get an answer to this. Thanks.

  • Hmm having read through and seeing all the complaints I guess I ‘ll echo what most of us think.

    NO MORE PSP GAMES!!!!

Although if you start doing GOOD PSP games that might change.

Tons of us have been begging for RPGs in the IGC for over a year.

PSP has a ton of RPGs…

But if you’re not giving us good games, at least stop giving us old games for an obsolete system.

  • Hey Morgan thanks for the awesome update Dokuro looks good! My question is regarding a comment you left earlier stating that there are various reasons to keep some games on the IGC longer(Uncharted 3, X:COM: Enemy Unknown and Little Big Planet Karting… great games btw)So i’ve always been curious, do you guys ever you the IGC as an advertising tool to get to buy the sequels to these games?

SPECULATION: “Pretend” that Sony/Naughty Dog is in development of Uncharted 4(i’m not at all saying this is true i’m just speculating.) Anyway does putting Uncharted 3 on the IGC help advertise for that game? Thanks…

And if for whatever reason you can’t answer this question can expose some of these various reasons? Thanks! Cheers!

    • If it works out, then yeah, it can work that way in some regard, but it takes a lot of planets aligning to make that happen. But sometimes it just does; for example, people can snag Saints Row 3, and there’s the upcoming Saints Row 4 coming. But in terms of coordinate advertising which calls that out, that’s a fine idea!

  • lol Typing no psp games in all caps probably won’t do much but make you look like the big kids you’re acting like. Just because some of you want NO MORE PSP games (lol) doesn’t mean others don’t. How about you guys spend some money and get the Vita titles you want instead of waiting for them to show up on Plus?

  • Really hoping that we can see on the next month some good RPG as the europe did with kingdon of amalour and others. this month just bf3 worth for me.
Morgan could you give us a preview about the next month?? because these weeks didnt been so good….
just want to belive that something good is coming out, would be great!

  • Good afternoon Mr. Morgan. I am actually happy with, and was very pleased with the notion, of PSP games being included in the Playstation Plus lineup. However, I have to agree that a large majority of those games, I’ve had little care towards. For instance, if a VITA plus fight game is free, I’m not gonna want a old PSP fighting game. However, having Metal Slug, while not a personal love, it different enough to be kept on my VITA, especially due to it’s small file size. Fun bite sized free PSP games are great!

My suggestion, is rather than give one or two of these PSP games free from your catalog, put a massive discount on them. I’m think 75-90% off, a bunch at a time.

  • LOL!!!

Morgan replied to the guy who posted his poll, saying that the numbers prove people like what Plus is doing.

Even though the numbers for the last two weeks have Negative votes far higher % than positive.

THings like this are why we can’t Trust Morgan. All his posts are pure PR BS (although at least he isn’t constantly guaranteeing a “Great” update next time whenever we don’t like the current one).

If only the Plus staff would act like people instead of Sony Robots, it’d actually feel like maybe they’re listening and care what people want.

Then again, we did a poll a few months back for what kind of games people wanted… instead of going by the results we keep getting FPS and PSN games…

The community is being ignored, a few PR lines about how great Plus is, doesn’t change the facts or evidence.

    • that guys numbers weren’t my poll. that was his own tracking and defining sentiment in the comments by assigning a value to him. and I’m afraid I can’t give ya credit on the quote on the poll numbers being negative seeing as you can’t see those numbers. sorry bud!

  • Thinking back on the PS1 classics, and how many we would often get, I miss those frequent good ones btw, Spyro, Crash, etc…We have seen nothing like that in either numbers or quality. PSP games should be seen as classics, because they are becoming such. With the launch of the PS4, they will have had 3 consoles launched after it, and nearly a decade since it’s launch. I love the PSP, but when I can buy a PSP game for $20, or a VITA game for $20, and the quality is clear, we encounter a problem. And if it’s a cheaper PSP game taking the spot of a potentially more expensive VITA game, people get a little irked.

My suggestion of discounts, is a good alternative. And on a side note, other options, why not give us a choice of of maybe 2-4 PSP games, and we can download one, instead of being self selecting for us. People’s feedback will be more positive, I assure you. Especially if they cross multiple genres. Download the best out of the 4 titles, for you. For the Gamer! ;) Keep being awesome SONY. Plus member since day 1

  • i whaiting for monster hunter freedom unite, free in ps plus. is a exelent game

  • Got to love the continuing EU/NA disparity.

EU got a Aug update a week or so ago.

    August starts this Weds.

We get info on August NEXT WEEK….

    Yeah…

  • Darnit! Im gonna have to pick up that max payne 3 ultimate edition… just for the dlc… i have the game just sitting on my backlog… havent even started it lol

  • Can you please verify if the current on-going Persona sale will end this week or not? I am talking about Persona 4: Golden for VITA at $20 instead of $30.

  • @boomstickbhg I agree, except August starts…Thursday? Your calender has been lying to all along! Destroy the calender!!!!

  • Damn, was hoping PJM:UHD would be a $10 game :(. Guess I’ll be waiting.

Dokuro is a fun little game, with an emphasis on little. It should NOT be the featured Vita game for the month. August better not have any PSP games.

  • Damn man, I need to get a PS Vita. I already have like 50 games for it but don’t own one thanks to PS+. I wish I could play PS vita games on PS3. I want to play some Metal Slug and some Soul Caliber.

  • @thelookey6 I never said there was a separate plus subscription for psp. I said not all plus subscribers have vitas, so that could very well mean ps3 owners who also own PSPs. And I don’t know who you mean by “all you guys”, but if you must know, I do in fact own a vita (day 1 purchaser), feel free to check my trophy list.

  • ahhhh i want ps3 free games… =\ i already got max payne 3 then… waiting next update….

  • @121

“August better not have any PSP games.”

    Or else what?

  • Just here to support psp games for the igc and recommend Ys: seven as a future igc candidate.

  • (morgan’s reply to boomstickbhg’s comment 114) LOL

I like your sense of humor morgan ;)

  • HAHAHAHAH Morgan’s reply to 114! Priceless… What a down to earn guy!

  • Let’s put another survey on PSP games. This is important, people who don’t own Vita please don’t vote.

Or BETTER yet, make the survey online on PS Vita Store.

    • The Store doesn’t have the functionality to do any polling, but maybe we can do something with email where we can email PS Vita folks only, who are PS Plus members, and are open to recieving emails. Thanks for the idea, and if you’re open to getting this type of poll in your email, remember you would need to have signed up for PlayStation emails. I’ll run the idea by the teams, but so you know, getting something like that would take some time, that is, if it were to be approved.

  • I already have Max Payne 3 on disk. Can you guys throw the season pass on sale for like $8-10 bucks? I would llike to have that version buying the Ultimate Version.

  • what is the diffrence in max payne 3 and Max Payne 3 Ultimate Edition.

  • wow XtemmA2 , that’s great idea :)
Morgan pls, make the survey online on ps vita store

  • I’m really looking forward to playing Dokuro.

  • XtemmA2
    super good idea
but i hope it is not a 1 answer pole unless the question is do we want a psp game or vita game for IGC.

  • Damnn… Morgan sure did give Boom the Final Fatality… Finnished him.

    • i certainly hope not! I like Boomstick, he always bring the love in a weird kind of way; but his feedback, as everyone’s, is always appreciated. Just had to provide a point of clarification.

  • Morgan, I probably am too far down on the board for you to see this, but I am definitely in the camp for PRO PSP games. I understand the love and respect for the Vita technology but there are some PSP games that are timeless that haven’t even been tried by customers of the Vita yet. LocoRoco…Patapon…many many other classics out there that could reach a new audience. The Vita is still young and I think it would be good for you guys to show your PSP muscle a little more, if I’m being honest.

Nicely done. Oh, and please, as always, more RPGs. I mean…you haven’t forgotten about RPGs have you? :)

    • yeah those are some good thoughts, thanks for sharing. Going to see if we can get more of a dialogue with our digital 1st party teams who own some of that classic PSP content. No guarantees that anything can happen like that, but it’s worth seeing through that feedback to them. Thanks!

  • @129 agreed. I’d vote for no psp games unless they actually gave us newer rpg ones like Ragnorak Tactics.

  • Sure Morgan, anything goes.
I was expecting live numbers on the poll, but oh well…
    Thanks.

    • Yeah we would not be able to share numbers on polls like that; but rest assured, the info goes to good use.

  • Well nothing for me this time around. I don’t have a Vita yet so I can’t play Dokuro, and as awesome and worth-while Max Payne 3 is, I already bought that game at launch last year and beaten it. I’m not too bummed out about it though because I know that lately the Vita and PSP players have gotten the short-end of the stick compared to PS3 players. I’ll be patient and wait for next week.

  • Ok, I’m confused. We are getting a vita game and yet 90% of the comments are whining about only getting psp games. I myself am fine with getting psp games. I live in the real world and realize that for $4.00 a month Sony can”t give us a AAA vita game every single week. Most of the good vita games have already been greatly discounted already. I would much rather have a good psp game like corpse bride or ridge racer psp than crappy vita games like chronovolt or a broken pinball arcade.

  • hmmm may get max payne only 11 bucks!!

  • Well, nothing for me this month!!

  • Just bought Max Payne 3 on disc for 8$ last week. Can i still buy the ultimate edition and just download the rockstar season pass and the original max payne it comes with.

  • you guys sould have little big planet for vita for free for plus

  • Dokuro is a great addition to the IGC and that Max Payne 3 deal is absolutely stellar.

Unfortunately, I already own both games so nothing for me this week :P. Can’t wait to see what we get in August!

  • Yes my vita will be overloaded time for a new memory card! LOL and since I traded my Xbox in towards my preordered PS4, I am getting max pain ultimate 4 12 bucks!!! Hell yeah playstation!!!!! All I need is grand theft auto 4 ultimate edition and I shall be completely ready for my collectors edition GTA5!!!!

  • Well I was going to wait to pick up PixelJunk Monsters: Ultimate HD unless there was some kind of of PS+ discount, thanks.

  • I signed up for a service that gives me PS3 games & PS Vita games every month, not PSP games. I feel it should be mandatory to offer games that at the very least have trophy support much the same as it’s mandatory for developers to include them in their games. Make sense?

  • No little big planet vita yet I just bought it! LOL

  • Morgan,

I am also on the pro side of PSP content. I have a Vita, but our family has 3 PSPs that are still used often. My youngest son (11) uses his PSP every day and loves getting new games to try.

Sony treats it’s customers right for the LONG TERM. It keeps me buying Sony products.
