  • AWESOME!!!! I don’t have to sign back up for PSPLUS this month! I bought Hitman when they lowered it to 20 bux.. and now they are giving that away… Thanks for showing me how you do things.. Don’t get me wrong The very fact Playstation is SOOOOO generous with this membership club makes me an even more loyal fanboy than I already was. HOWEVER… It makes me NOT buy games anymore.. So many games I’ve purchased to have come out the very next month for free…

So this whole summer sale where you get 3 dollars for buying one game up to getting 10 bucks if you buy all 4 or something like that.. I guarantee half of them if not all of them will end up being free.

  • I don’t have Star Wars Pinball though (yuck) or Runner 2 (mehhh) I played that demo and was underwhelmed by it.. So good I get to save money… I’m not even buying games at retail anymore.. I have so many freaking games to catch up on that I didn’t go out and run and get the last of us, or bioshock infinite, or god of war ascension, or injustice gods among us.. wanna know why??? Cause by the end of the year they won’t be more than 20 bucks a piece.. And I might have time for them by then..

I’m glad I’m not gobbling up every little game thrown at me like a rabid dog anymore.. I guess maybe I’m either getting bored with the way the games just are the same even though they are different in slight ways or I just don’t see the logic in spending the money on it.

Which brings me to why I’m not getting a PS4 day 1.. because I don’t want Drive Club… When a good game for PS4 comes on PS+ for free then I’ll buy the console. I don’t mind paying a membership and getting great games.. I would even pay more for a membership if there was more added to it. Like more PS1,2,3,PSP,VITAandPS4 games At least 1 from each system and also fill some requests people have been shouting nonstop for..

  • I’ve learned to be more patient with the releases.. now I’m done buying games.. I only buy old games.. Ones released 2-3 years ago.. things I may have missed.. To really round out my PS3 collection.

All the new games are gonig to be on PS+ just watch.. Even The Last of Us will be on PS+ I’m sure of it.. God of War Ascension too.. Yep.. You’ll see.

  • I’m European, so I guess my rating could be considered objective.

    Hitman: Absolution (PS3) – B+
Zen Pinball 2: Star Wars Pinball (PS3) C+
Bit.Trip Presents Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien (PS3) B-

Hitman is good, not brilliant though. The smaller games are decent, but … well they are indeed small.

    Machinarium (PS Vita) B-
Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower (PS Vita, Compatible with PS Vita) C

Quality wise decent. But again Machinarium? And all related comments and questions are ignored by SCEA’s staff?
And another fighter for the PSV? Really?

If I’d be confronted with that kind of content I’d probably rage too. It would be well deserved, especially for the miserable service on the Vita.
We got crap as LEGO LotR in Europe for the Vita (Metacritic 54%) and I’d still consider that to be a better deal than receiving the same game twice or an endless stream of fighters.

  • @PHEEliNUX oh are you in for a treat. The complaining used to be pretty bad (about a year ago), got better somewhat recently, but now I guess it’s back to this. And you would think that seeing the plus lineup for the entire month would give people the chance to get their frustration out now, leaving the rest of the month pretty calm, but we’ll see….

@PrimeroIncognito I understand the points you’re trying to make, but arguing with some of the people here is like playing tennis against a brick wall. It’s probably best to just give up now, some people unfortunately, just aren’t going to listen.

  • @jeison1424
AND THEY GET AT 31 JULY WITCH IS MEAN EVEN IF YOU GET IT NOW IT IS NOT EVEN FEAR WHAT I MEAN YOU SUB FOR TIME 3 MONTHS OR 1 YEAR
WE HAVE TO GET LIKE THEM IN SAME TIME WE ALL SUB FOR PS +
    THIS IS NOT FEAR

  • This is a great selection, but I was REALLY hoping for Need For Speed: Most Wanted to be among the games for August. Why does Europe always seems to get the better deals? It does’t seem fair!

  • Kinda bummed out on not getting Need for Speed: Most Wanted but thanks for Hitman: Absolution. I played that game on the other console but I never gotten the chance to finish that game. It’s great and the mechanics are still there if you pick on harder difficulty.

  • Hitman? ok but Another psp game :( … And machinarium we get it like 1 month ago and the other are some casual games you play it like 10 minutes and delete it.
The European ps+ selection is so much better. Mafia, Need For speed and Spec Ops: The Line and a Lego game for the vita not a psp game.

Please give us more ps vita games not old psp games… And stop with all those psn games whit no interest…
I want some AAA games :(
    Please?

  • After getting Dokuro on the IGC, I realized I should have bought it last time there was a discount.

Definately will wait for it the next time.

As for your August line up, it is not stellar, but for what the cost is monthly and that Rayman origins is down to 25% of retail cost, it is still a no brainer.

    IGN gave it 9.5

I bought Max Payne 3, although, after seeing the repeated drug references, it was not an easy choice.
The game looked to good gameplay wise to pass up though.

Was not completely dissappointed, even though multiplayer may not be quite what I expected.

And went for Persona 3FE due to the cost and that it was an editors choice.

  • I do think Sony should wait at least 6 months before rehashing a freebie that was already offered.

Back in June Machinarium – PSN – FREE 6/11/13

Now in August Machinarium – PSN – FREE 8/13

  • Hitman? It’s ok but Another psp game :( … And machinarium we get it like 1 month ago and the other are some casual games you play it like 10 minutes and delete it.
The European ps+ selection is so much better. Mafia, Need For speed and Spec Ops: The Line and a Lego game for the vita not a old psp game.

Please give us more ps vita games not old psp games… And stop with all those psn games whit no interest…
    I want some AAA games.

I’m thinking taking an European account…

  • For those calling out the ‘complainers’, do you not realize this is an optional, paid service where good games are part of the price of admission? When Sony actively shafts the US as opposed to Europe or Japan, we are allowed to call them out. When they claim to listen to feedback yet keep giving us PSP fighters, we can call them out. When they keep giving us the same genre, pinball, in this case, we can call them out. Without feedback, they dont know what we like and dont like, especially since the poll has no comments section. So grow up and let those of who care voice our criticism and complaints

  • @SpooNManX
I don’t think that they should put the same game twice into the IGC at all.
It would be fair enough to offer Machinarium in sale, for those who’d still be interested.

  • I’m really excited about Hitman! Thanks! can we get a need for speed game soon? At least some discounts? That would be great.

  • @SpooNManX and Golwar this Machinarium is for vita, last time it was for ps3

  • I am sad. :(! I was hoping NFS most wanted, but thanks for Hitman :D

  • Argh I already played Hitman Absolution. Can we have NFS Most Wanted next, pretty please ? :)

  • When is the sale on persona 4 golden going to end?

  • Who else besides me would like to see an HD remake of Need For Speed: Underground and Need for Speed: Underground 2? I’d buy them immediately.

  • THE WORST MONTH EVER! Cmon guys, US PSN+ Fail!!

  • I know this comment is way back so it may never be seen but I still wanted to voice my opinion. Overall, I think PS+ is amazing. I’m very happy with the PS3 lineup this month. Pleasantly surprised to see Runner 2 on the list and Hitman is a great additional.

However, the Vita side is pretty lacking. Machinarium was free on PS3 just 2 months ago. I know that there are Vita owners who don’t have a PS3 (shame on them) so I can see this being good for them. However, for those with both, to have the game retreaded on the other system this soon (at least Jet Set Radio was space about between PS3 and Vita) is a little disheartening. Darkstalkers doesn’t really help matters.

Unlike many others, I don’t mind the PSP games cycling in but PSP fighters seem a little pointless to be honest. At least Vita fighters can be taken online but very few people will get to play multiplayer in these PSP fighters (which kinda kills the point). First Tekken, then Soul Calibur, and now this. The occasional fighter for the PS3 or actual Vita isn’t a bad thing but I feel that the PSP library skews a little too heavy on the fighters.

Just my two cents. Sorry for the wall of text.

  • Still no RPG games for PS3? We’ve had next to nothing for a long time now. Come on! At least acknowledge that we exist. I’d settle for a discount or two for some good games. Please.

  • Well, I guess most of us want NFS Most Wanted. I guess this may show if they actually listen to us by having it free next week. There’s time to make it happen so I guess we will just have to wait and see.

  • i’ve never played hitman.. do i need to play the previous hitmans?

  • I meant next month! LOL

  • It’s a great update. Thanks fot the game

  • It’ll just be an addition to my backlog for now but glad to get Hitman.
Man, I barely Runner 2, didn’t think it would be free this soon. Oh well.

Darkstalkers is finally a fighter I actually wanted for the Vita but hopefully this isn’t the start of another trend. (though I wouldn’t mind so much if it was Alpha 3 Max)

  • You can’t be serious. How can you offer us Hitman Absolution, a game with technical issues that has left hundreds of people (at least) without the posibility of coming to an end, because the saved data gets lost randomly (the same for the Contracts Mode). At the same time, you are supporting the bad behavior of the company in charge of HA, because promissed on their official forum (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?s=563c38ee688739184931ffe696d27f03&t=131742) to give us a solution but they have done nothing from the released date until now.
I consider this disrespectfull, specially coming from Sony…How is this possible?

  • Thanks for Hitman: Absolution. Been debating on getting it but now that its free I must get it! Thank you for the free games sony <]

  • Hi, is there any plans to add Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles (PSP) into the psn plus? this is a awesome game that many people will be happy to see free or with a good discount

  • People need to understand every game will not appeal to you. I like Runner 2 ($15) and Zen Pinball Star Wars ($10). I paid $5 this month and I am getting $25 of value this month (and I’m not even interested in the full retail PS3 release this month). Since I got 5 times the value of what I put into Plus this month, I would say it is a really good investment, at least for me.

  • This is my first time leaving a comment on this website. I am a long time reader, however. My reason for speaking up here is the fact that we only got ONE retail, AAA game this month and Europe got THREE. Even though I am looking forward to playing Hitman (I love the series), why is the U.S. consistently getting the shaft?

And what about actually getting a “AAA” PlayStation Network game? Why are we always getting these “artsy indie” titles? I just don’t understand what the process in picking games is (obviously), but there has to be a better way than this. This is a joke.

I know I am still, technically, getting a good deal. But that isn’t really my point. My point is why is Europe ALWAYS getting a better deal? My plus membership is up soon and I am considering switching over to the European Plus. If I would have done it earlier, I would have had many more games of interest on my hard drive.

  • No platinum for psvita this month
    :(

  • THANK YOU, Morgan!!!

  • O good I never finished Absolultion. This is good

  • @NYPenguin

If you think people actually are “satisfied” in EU Blog, Then you probably never entered it, It might be less than US but they still complain

And it is probably just me but, I think this US month update is better than EU, Other than NFS:MW(Which i only played twice) and Spec Ops:The Line(Should probably play it later since it is a FPS made by 2K), I would prefer Bit.Trip Runner 2, Since i liked the original series on the Wii

Both Pluses seem like a good deal

  • THANK YOU, Morgan!!

It seems that our comments of dissatisfaction are not worth anything.
Most people here are dissatisfied with the up date this month, but only see you respond to comments of the minority, which is satisfied.
I particularly expected something better from the U.S. PS +, and expected a little more considerate of you to us, the consumers.

  • I´m not happy with the games BUT to say it´s because Morgan is not doing his job is just plain utter trash. Morgan´s job is to write posts with the info he gets. He can send 3000000000000000000000000000000 emails to the ******* in charge of making deals to give freebies and discounts but at the end they take their own calls.

And for those talking crap about people complaining, you are the reason why all this is just wrong, is not about the titles it is about the quantity/quality other regions have this month. Forget about the titles and check out quantity/quality they are getting.

  • Sorry to be off topic here guys, but anyone else finding the Forums down for maintenance?

  • Oh goodie! Another indie game, fighting game, and pinball game for vita IGC! Free or not I’m not even gonna waste space with these crap games. EU gets all the good titles for vita. Holding out months for something good. MGHD or Unit 13, somethin! Am gonna play some Runner 2 though! Lol

  • The PSP games I’d be most interested in for future IGC updates:

    Resistance Retribution
    Kingdom Hearts
    Peace Walker
    Portable Ops
Any of the GTA games (especially Chinatown Wars)
    Any SW Battlefront
    Daxter
    3rd Birthday
    Secret Agent Clank
    Either of the GoW games

And the occasional PSOne game would be nice, such as:

    Dino Crisis games
    Medal of Honor games
    Parasite Eve games
    Metal Gear Solid

  • Here I was hoping we would see NFS too. Alas I’m disappointed in what we’re getting since I already own Hitman Absolution. Oh well…good for those of ya who don’t.

  • Sony, release a DualShock 4 in the original PlayStation grey.

  • another bad month, give me back my money, I wanted the NFS Most Wanted :(

Morgan you are doing your job wrong …

  • I seldom complain about the free games….but another PSP/FIGHTING game? Please give us more native vita games from now on

  • @588 BRIT-KO

They are indeed under maintenance for me as well. Not sure what’s going on there. It’s only the PS forums that are down though. Other Sony forums are still up just fine.

  • THE WORST MONTH EVER! Cmon guys, US PSN+ Fail!!

  • The worth month ever in ps plus nothing this month for me really really MORGAN !!!
Lets see what EU are receiving this month:
Need for Speed: Most Wanted (PS3)
    Mafia 2 (PS3)
    Spec Ops: The Line (PS3)
Lego Lord of the Rings (Vita)
    When Vikings Attack! (Vita)
Thanks Morgan. Thanks for the horrible job youre doing!

  • Hitman Absolution is a good game. I rented it from GameFly a few weeks ago and working on finishing it.
