Don’t be alarmed — no, it’s not Monday. Although PlayStation Plus updates typically kick off the week, we’re trying something new by pulling back the curtain on our Instant Game Collection updates a little early.
For September, Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection is leading the charge, so you can break out your PlayStation Move Controllers (yes, regular controllers work too) and start destroying zombies. Later this month you’ll get the HD-remastered version of iconic PS2 classic ICO, one of Rockstar’s awesome portable versions of Grand Theft Auto (in this case, GTA: Liberty City Stories), Ubisoft’s loveable platformer Rayman Origins for PS Vita and the classic arcade shooter Galaga Legions DX.

why is playstation plus worth it ?
I prefer this update over the one EU got this month. AC3 is good but I would rather have other games in the IGC. I am happy with this months update!

Ha, I thought GTA IV: The Complete Edition would be free but Resident Evil Chronicles HD collection? Oh well, it’s okay. I still think we should have gotten what EU PS+ are getting. Assassin’s Creed III and Jak and Daxter Trilogy. ICO HD is okay but I got both ICO and Shadow of the Colossus on disc, they’re great by the way. I’ve always wanted to play Rayman Origins, so thank you for that. Overall, some good upcoming content for PS+ subscribers. Maybe Assassin’s Creed III for October?

Thank you for the early preview! I’m not too overly pleased with the PS3 collection, but I’m thrilled with the games for psp/vita. Both of which I wanted to play on my newly purchased Vita. If Oct continues this I may just renew Plus!

Well this month looks pretty disappointing. Might as well try ICO out and maybe Resident Evil but GTA5 will take my time away from these games when it comes out. I was hoping for AC3 and Jak and Daxter HD Collection but I found out it was only for the UK. =_=

Geez why can’t we get the same games Europe gets? The quality of their games are far superior to anything we receive here in the states. It’s maddening. This lineup is terrible. Next to nothing worthwhile for the PS3.

I’m sorry , but comparing this update to EU update of September , this is joke . EU has AC3 , Stealth , Dexter trilogy . they have done a better job on IGC .

Once again trying to pass off a PSP game as a Vita game, but at least you finally listened to one of my suggestions and included Rayman Origins! Really it’s a no-brainer with Legends coming out shortly. It’s really the perfect way to entice people to get the follow-up.
I’ve owned Rayman Origins on PC for awhile now, but can’t wait to try it out on Vita. I typically love 2D platformers on Vita, so it should be sweet.
As for the PSP game, again I wish PSP games were bonus third games and didn’t take up the typical two-slots per month for Vita. But at least it’s 1) NOT A FIGHTER! and 2) one of the few PSP titles people would actually want (the GoW games being the other ones…which I wouldn’t be surprised get added as IGC before the GoW HD Collection releases).
I won’t post all my suggestions again, but if you find Rayman Origins boosts Vita Legends sales, I think you should definitely work hard to convince WB to provide LEGO LOTR next month before LEGO Marvel Super Heroes releases.

Fantastic update! To the people complaining about Rayman Origins. If you can’t accept that a game you just bought will be on PS Plus in the near future, then your better off not buying any games period. $5.00 for that game is a good deal. If you didn’t think so, you wouldn’t have bought it at that price :)
Like many others, I fell for the limited time Rayman Origins super sale trick. And that would have been the only game I’d be interested in this month.
I’m sorta shocked at how positive most of these comments have been. I thought last month was the first A+ month since I’ve been a subscriber, as Hitman was a high quality and relatively new centerpiece title, plus Machinarium, Runner 2, and Star Wars Pinball were all varied and well-reviewed games that I thoroughly enjoyed. And yet most all of the comments I saw a month ago were completely negative. Now we have a rail shooter as our big game, and people are doing backflips out of joy? Plus half of a game that Europe got months ago, and a Vita game that is an EXCELLENT choice for the IGC but many of us were conned into buying it just a week ago.
I’m genuinely glad that so many people are enjoying this month’s update. I’m just surprised is all.
Morgan, at Gamescom they announced that the AWESOME looking Resogun is coming to PS Plus at the launch of the PS4. Since this announcement was made in Europe, does this only apply to their Plus program? Do you have any information regarding whether or not we will be getting it in NA as well? Thanks so much.

Decent lineup this month. I have Rayman for PS3, but I was wanting to try it on the Vita. I’ve played Vice City Stories and enjoyed it. Liberty City Stories should be worthwhile. I’ve heard good things about ICO, so I’m looking forward to that. I like original Galaga and I like Pac Man Championship Edition DX, so I’ll give Galaga Legions DX a try. No Move controller here, but I wonder how well RE Chronicles plays with the regular controller. It would be cool if it used the 6-axis sensors, but I imagine it uses the joystick and that seems like it might be too sluggish for a light gun game.

For once I actually prefer the lineup NA got over EU. Yeah, yeah, EU got 4 full retail PS3 games. But those are old games that most of us already have bought or played at one time or another (if we were interested in them).
I preferred this month’s lineup (that’s a first lol) because I have wanted to get some of these games for quite a while. More value for the $$$$ to get to try out a different kind of games.
If you depend on the IGC for your total gaming fix, that’s not the way to go.
For me personally, there’s not a lot here.
Not because they’re bad games or anything, they’re great games. Great games I already have lol. Looks like it’ll just be Galaga and Liberty City Stories for me.
And you know what, I’m okay with that. My backlog is ridiculous to the point I just had to put a 1TB hard drive in my PS3 lol
I hope you guys keep supporting the PS3 with free + games for the next few years as I don’t intend on getting a PS4 until 2015 at least.
Very cool on the RE games. Would’ve already picked them up (for the 2nd time after my Wii copy) if they had been released on disc (here in the US), so this is great!
And Rayman is just fueling my desire to get a Vita. Hopefully soon.
This is a pretty good month for me. Both Resident Evil Chronicles and Rayman Origins are games I’ve been on the fence about and never bothered to buy. Also GTA for PSP – definitely worth checking it out on the Vita, now that it’s free!
I already have the ICO / Shadow of the Colossus HD collection on disc, but I’ll gladly download ICO HD – remember, it works on Remote Play for Vita – so it will be great having on the hard-drive so I can load it up on Vita whenever I want!

I’m happy to be able to play GTA Liberty Stories.. I own Rayman Origins.. but it might a good way to get people to buy Rayman Legends when that comes out or at least spark an interest. :D

When I saw the image of “Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection” I really thought it was from RE1 Remake (the one from GB), sadly it was not…
Anyway, I already own this collection, it’s really nice, play it with the MOVE or even better with the Sharpshooter for an awesome experience ;)

Hi Christine welcome from all of us glad to have you on board doing plus updates hope your ready for the love and hate you’ll get from many of us.
We all love plus but their are some major issues with plus that need looking into and the issues have to be looked into before all those new ps4 owners become plus members.
1.) Digital games need to be cheaper 10-20%
2.) No more repeat games aka Machinarium on ps3 on month then ps vita the next
3.) You’ve gotta deal with that EU plus is better than NA plus perception
4.) Many plus subscribers are still waiting on that rpg we were promised after we took Morgan’s survey specifically asking what we wanted.
5.) Many plus members also vita owners hate to see psp games offered as Vita plus games. Morgan sai it was like 50/50. 50% of consumers being upset over something shows it needs to be addressed. I’d say ditch the psp games and give us more Vita sales
6.) For heavens sake no more vita fighting games
7.) We need a way to reach out to you guys about plus more than just once a week
