SCE Japan Press Conference 2013 Livestream

Live streaming video by Ustream

This afternoon in Tokyo (11:00pm tonight, Pacific Time), Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia is holding a press conference to make some announcements of interest to Japanese gamers. The presentation is tailored specifically for the Japan and Asian regions, and the news here will not necessarily be relevant for North American gamers. Nonetheless, we’re happy to host a livestream of the event here in case you wanted a glimpse into what’s next for PlayStation fans in the East.

The show is set to kick off at 11:00pm Pacific Time, and will feature a live English translation. Enjoy!

  • While I don’t personally want one, I think Vita TV could really help the system in North America. Great idea by Sony. As if the Indies didn’t love the system enough already……my goodness!

I really hope it launches here this year. We need that thing more then Japan does.

  • I’m buying a Vita this week, so I for one am really happy to see Sony showing support for it!

But now I’m curious if I should just get a 32 gig memory card now or wait for the 64 to be released in North America :S

  • Some cool things were on stage, but the dubbing was annoying. VitaTV + PSVita + Tablets/Smartphones + PS4 + PSPlus looks like hell of a EcoSystem I would say. There is so much unclear how everything will work out, but Sony is trying to do an Apple-like Ecosystem with as many devices as possible. It will be awesome to have something like pay once play everywhere. Streaming games on the go like KZ:SL, Knack and DriveClub for Vita is awesome and also having some amazing exclusives la Soul Sacrifice and Persona 4G, also Tearaway is fcking a device for gamers.

  • @Kazuki4588
Normally I say there can never be enough memory and them words are true. Need to look at all the games that are out right now to see what interest you and what are coming out and ask yourself how much memory do you need. Also need to ask yourself are you buying digital or retail. After that you will know what memory is best suitable for you. If your going to buy a lot of games (and had PS+) then the biggest memory available is the best choice. For me the 32GB works well but I’m beginning to struggle so need bigger

  • A Japanese conference to show us Japanese games..

And there are HUNDREAD of Japanese games ONLY LAUNCHED IN JAPAN!

    PROVES?

PSP: Kingdom Hearts BBS FINAL MIX (not BBS only): Wall Disney is AMERICAN and the “Final version” ONLY APPEARS IN JAPAN!

PSP: Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A’s Portable: The Gears of Destiny … One of the BEST fighting games I played in my life.

PSP/PS3/PS2/PSVITA: Gundam games series: THERE IS A LOT of FANTASTIC games NEVER APPEARED in USA or Europe.

    … So…

Show to us a JAPANESE conference for “FUTURE GAMES WILL NEVER APPEAR FOR YOU OUT FROM JAPAN”

Thats the SAD reality of “japanese conferences” !

  • Please bring Phantasy star online 2 to the states! Exciting Press conference btw :)

  • As much of PS Vita fan for handheld gaming on the go i was bit shock with these’s things in number order:

    1. PS Vita TV that doesn’t look cool at all and should stay mobile only. Why? Because Its mobile gaming handheld and not home console; PS Vita TV makes handheld look like joke now. Overall its something i don’t plan to get ever should it find its way here.

    2. PS Vita 2000 model lose its OLED to LCD is sad as well sense OLED made gaming look great on PS Vita. 1GB of built-in storage is nice to start off with. I see that this model drop accessory port that the normal mode had so it doesn’t do anything special at all then? Was hoping it could be use to hook mini-HDMI Adapter to it or something then watch movies on bigger screen or play games.

    3. Maybe the PS Vita 3000 model might go back with OLED, built-in 4GB storage, and battery life of 7-8 hours.

Overall i’m staying with my same model because it super awesome size and hope their don’t go out of sell any time soon. 64GB memory card is $100 i’m guessing and i might get it then 32GB now.

  • hopefully the ps vita tv will come to north america. id rather play games on a big screen and a with a controller

  • 11PM ? already asleep at that time.
if it’s important news i’ll hear about it in the morning..

    PSVita slim?? :)

  • Why couldnt sony just give the ps3 a firmware update to allow people to play psp and vita games on the big screen? Or isn’t that possible?

Anyway I like this PSVITA TV, it saves me buying a handheld. All I wanted was to play psp and vita games on the big screen, and now its come true.

Valkryia Chronicles 2 & 3, Ultimate Pixeljunk Monsters here I come.

I think the PSVITA TV will arrive in the west in december.

  • Oh yes I forgot to say, Im buying a psvita tv most def.

One more thing Where is the Last Guardian?

  • here’s an idea sony, start pushing sega to get PSO2 and PSNova to the west starting now, since they seem to hate money or something, it would help (if ever so slightly) with vita sales

  • i missed the conference. Hopefully some of the major sites will highlight the interesting games that were revealed.

  • I WISH I could watch this, but 2AM on the east cost with work in the morning makes it impossible. Looking forward to all the awesome news bright and early when I wake up :)

  • Hugely interested in VITA TV, here in the US. I do have a couple of questions though.

Will it be released globally (or at least in the US?)
-If not, is it region free?

Will PS Mobile Apps/Games work on it, since it’s technically a Vita? I ask because it’s not really Mobile anymore.

Fingers crossed this thing makes it to the States.

Vita has some great games like Gravity Rush and Personal 4 that I’d love to play on a TV. The Remote Play and potential for video/music apps makes this seem like a no-brainer @ $100/Y100

  • Giving that Japan usually gets a variety of gear and special titles, I will be watching. Thanks for the heads up.

  • Please please please bring Vita TV and the black/pink Vita to the US!

  • Any news on when or if the PS Vita 64gb card or PS Vita TV will be released in the U.S.?

  • while i am interested in the PSVita TV, I was really hoping they would do something with the AUX port or create a way to have a video cable (ala PSP) to the TV.

  • A mind is a terrible thing to waste, to all pay attention to what you read. Because that is the problem not understanding what you read.

  • I can’t believe all the people typing that they can’t wait to watch it tonight as it’s playing the whole time. Not making fun…well maybe a little. The stream was last night guys, but if you use your powers of observation you will notice that the whole conference is available to watch anytime you want right above the comments!

  • @irishdude2 I ordered my vita today and I decided to wait or the 64 gig memory card, hopefully it won’t be long, 30 extra dollars for twice the space seems too good to pass up xD

  • I want 64 gb memory card. Can I buy it from Japan? Are memory cards regionally locked? Look a mini vita, yawn. Oled! 64 gb card please Sony take my money

  • With SONY spending time making all this odd(i want 1 tho, lol, the PSVita TV thingy) ‘PS’ stuff WHY can’t SONY build a PS3 with Full PS2 playback again now for??? :(
You know i wouldn’t mind keeping my PS3(i would buy a new 1 just for PS2 disc playback) out & PS4 out forever but i have to keep my PS2 out to just to play some of my PS2 games. Oh well.

  • New trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3 maybe????

  • Nvm. I missed the conference :P

  • ohh 1 am here. I might watch but maybe it will be recorded so I can watch later. Nice there doing this.

  • it would be a shame if those phantasy star games dont come over seas

  • We need pink Vitas and especially pink ps4 controllers in the U.S. Sony has all these girls in their ps4 advertisements so let’s cater to the girl gamers since Sony obviously knows we exist and give us some pink. Or even purple. When those blue & red ps4 controllers come out I hope to be picking up a pink or purple one, k? Please?

  • Vita Tv would’ve been helpful for all the times I’ve been annoyed by my family to watch Netflix.

  • SPOILER: PSVITA 2000

A smaller thinner lighter PSVITA in 6 colors!

  • please bring vita tv to usa i want one bad as well as the slim vita dont leave us out we want it to

  • Saw some great looking games there. Sad part is I know there is little hope for localization for many of them. Wish I knew Japanese so I could import them.

  • As for the Vita TV, sounds like an amazing product. I already have Vita so chances are I won’t buy one for myself but I’ll probably get one for my nephew. $95? What a bargain. I’d get one for myself ONLY if also supports mkv and ext HDD (at least for all my media).

  • Please bring the 64GB Vita memory cards to the States!
