Prepare to destroy some aliens — Galaga Legions DX can be downloaded for free with Instant Game Collection access this week. This arcade classic shoot-‘em-up pits you against waves of aliens called Galaga, but they’re basically space bees (“NOOOOOO! NOT THE BEES!!!!”). PS Vita Summer Select is ending this week with Dragon Fantasy Book II, the sequel to, you guessed it, Dragon Fantasy Book I. Finally, there’s a ton of Call of Duty content on sale, including Modern Ware & Black Ops bundles, so check it out.

These PS Plus benefits will be available after the PlayStation Store updates tomorrow, 9/10.

    not interested at all in the free game and the CoD games still seem overpriced with those discounts.

    Can we please get that awesome ‘Big in Japan’ sale EU got last week? It was like half off on almost 60 different japanese games.

    Not the greatest update…not really interested in the free game or the discounts. But we’ve had some pretty great weeks in the past, and there are some pretty good games coming in the next few weeks, so I’ll let it slide!

    The Call of Duty discounts aren’t even retail and the discount on Aliens hints that we will get it for free in future updates if it’s that low of a price

    Well if you guys are disappointed in this PS+ week, you’ll be disappointed for the rest of the month. The entire month was a disappointment. But actually i appreciate you dropping Aliens under $10, i may actually try it for $9. Yes it might be a terrible game, but for $9 and a coop game ill try it. I’ve spent my money on much worse from the PSN store (God Mode).

    Wow, that Call of Duty sale is so weak (why even bother?)! I’m glad I don’t play that crap anymore. Keep in mind for future PS+ updates, no more PSP games! No more fighting games! No more RPGs! Please offer a PS+ Discount Day 1 for Killzone Mercenary, tomorrow. Thanks.

    @16 I would be okay with PSP games if they were more hit titles that are no longer selling much. However they need to make Kingdom Hearts playable on the Vita. I know it’s a longshot like Spyro and Crash…

    Hey Kristine, any idea or news if we can possibly expect a Halloween sale next month as we did last year? I know its still a month away but just curious if we may see one on some themed games like Dead Space series, Resident Evil, etc.

    Holy damn, I agree with Ryumaou on that “Big in Japan” sale. I would weep, knowing I’d have to pick-&-choose from so many titles I’ actually interested in, unlike either of the properties in this week’s Plus discounts. At least Galaga’s pretty, but those bees would run from me, “well” as I’d be able to play it.

    The Vita games are ALWAYS the last week of the month, you guys should know this by now. I’m extremely excited for Dragon Fantasy Book II personally. I didn’t even realize it was coming out this week.

    The Call of Duty discounts are terrible.. I’m sorry but these discounts are horrible these past couple of weeks. You guys would normally do better than AT LEAST this.
    The free game, I’m actually happy about. It may not be an AAA PS3 title which is unfair compared to Europe’s selection, but it is a very fun game. The classic game remade in HD, I cannot wait to play.

    this is a poor week, but i still have a back log of games i have not played from PS plus so im good to go. for the price i think PS+ over delivers so lame weeks are part of the deal. ico is coming soon so is all good

    I’ll give Galaga Legions another shot, I remember not being too hot on the demo when it first came out, but you can’t argue with free.

    Now Dragon Fantasy Book II, that’s where it’s at for me. I’m probably the only person out there where it’s the game I’m looking forward to most in September.

    @15 – Me too, man. So sad. In the past 8-12 weeks I’ve only selected Hitman & the second portion of the Summer sale (& I’m not the type to select that out of spite). I was the biggest unpaid cheerleader for Plus in the Winter & Spring months. I’m responsible for at least 3 new subscribers. Plus took a sharp downward turn.

    Every week is worse than one before. I bought 5 Call of Duty games on Craig List for $30. You have to be an idiot to buy something at these “discounted” prices Free game I don’t want to sven comment. I ber next month free PS3 will be Pacman or Donkey Kong. Goodbye PS XBox here I come

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU. I didn’t buy Dragon Fantasy: Book I two weeks ago because I didn’t want to play a game knowing that part II was out, but kind of out of my reach at that time (had to pay rent and credit card). Damn you, guys. Why? Next time let us know!

    When is ICO going to be free for PS+? I had hopped ICO would of been free last week but instead we got Resident Evil so then this week I was hopping ICO would be the free game but Galaga Legions DX (which is the only other free PS+ game I’m interested in besides ICO) hopefully next week you can make ICO the free game.

    And the whining continues. Getting sick of seeing these disappointment posts, and the amount seems to get larger each week. We need to remind ourselves that we get great or at least decent games at just over $4 a month. If you still can’t fathom that, then maybe you should just cancel your subscription. Personally, thanks Sony, for an awesome service so far.
