Star Wars Pinball: Balance of the Force Out October 15th

A new set of tables will be available for download in Star Wars Pinball and Zen Pinball 2 in just two weeks! Last week we unveiled details on the Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi table. Next up, check out the details on the Starfighter Assault table.

The biggest Star Wars space battles come to life on the Star Wars: Starfighter Assault pinball table. You must choose to support the Rebel Alliance’s Fleet or the Galactic Empire’s Armada as they complete missions while dodging turret fire and destructible ramps!

As missions are completed, you will earn Fleet Upgrades that can be spent to upgrade the fleet, fighters and turrets. In addition, you will be able to advance the rank of their pilot as they progress through the table!

The table includes legendary Starfighters like the X-wing and TIE fighter, along with iconic vessels like the Millennium Falcon and the Death Star II.

There is a third table in the pack, some guy named Darth Vader… maybe you’ve heard of him? We’ll pay tribute to the Dark Side very soon, so stay tuned to PS.Blog for first looks. For more on Star Wars Pinball or Zen Pinball 2, visit PlayStation.com.

  • Thanks Sony and Zen Studios! May the Force be with you!

  • Not sure if I like what I see here. It seems this table looks a tad too video-gamey for me, even though it has a cool theme. I’ll still get it though, but won’t have enough to get it at launch sadly.

  • I love Zen games. Hopefully we can get their recent CastleStorm on Vita soon as well

  • I love Zen Pinball, and cannot wait to play these tables on the Vita. I wish I had a question to ask, but these are mine, no questions asked! Thanks Bobby and everyone over at Zen Studios.

  • sweet, can’t wait to get this day one.

  • Thanks for the update Bobby. All these tables look inventive, and I appreciate how creative you guys are being with the Star Wars license. You guys always go out of your way to grab some of the mainstream stuff and then include some deep cuts too. Like with the Marvel tables, you grabbed Moon Knight, which is probably my favorite table in that collection. I’m hoping for some more off-beat Star Wars stuff, like Shadows of the Empire, or Young Jedi Knights, etc.

Also, I look forward to more original tables from you guys. Those have been some of my favorite.

Only one question: You guys can get pretty wild with the virtual pinball simulation sometimes, what with certain characters flying around, piloting a starship, but would you ever go further with it and make a “Pinball Adventure” table like you see in games like Metroid Prime Pinball and similar games? That could be something quite fantastic when coupled with your excellent ball physics and simulation.

    • We definitely went all out with the fantasy elements on this one, but a pinball adventure style sounds really cool! We did some RPG elements with Epic Quest, but not too much off-table action – I like the idea of going even further with it – thanks for your suggestion!

  • Thanks for the reply, Bobby. I love a good game of virtual pinball where the table is lovingly crafted to be as realistic as possible, where all the parts fit together perfectly, intertwining to form a beautiful piece of multi-ramp art, but I also enjoy it when these pinball games really take advantage of the virtual medium they’re on. This is the reason I love Zen Pinball over the others: you guys make both kinds of tables, while supporting it with pitch perfect ball simulation.

I just really enjoyed those old pinball adventure games that had level and character progression with a mixture of traditional and alternative pinball play, and wish we’d see some newer ones without terrible physics, haha.

Anyway, I look forward to your non-pinball games as well. Really excited to play CastleStorm. Keep up all the great work!

  • Looking forward to it Barbie :)

  • Bobby Loertscher = You (consider the team please) are so cool!

Kickbeat, Zen Pinball (all tables are nice)… I´m going to buy this S.W.B.F. and Plants Vs Zombies this month!

If you create a full promotion for all tables, I PROMISE TO BUY ALL ZEN PINBALL 2 tables to my PSVita!

Think in the final price like this: 30% off for all members, and 50% off for all PSN PLUS members!

PLEASE “Darth Bobby” : Use the force! XD

  • I am enjoying the first set of starwars tables & i know these new tables arriving will be just as fun. PS4 day 1 i’m out.

  • When will Mel appear in one of your tables?

  • Damn these tables looks pure frenzy and frenetic pinball action….guess I’ll be trying this one.

  • I gotta admit, I’ve always been more of a fan of the pinball sim games, but I LOVE these Star Wars tables more than anything!

  • Looking good but i hope soon Zen can make some other tables soon that’s not Marvel or star wars.

  • How much will this cost?

  • very excited for the new table pack ! they are great on the Vita – but totally rock on the PS3 in 3D … some nights I turn the lights off & just have my 3D glasses on playing Zen Pinball …. fantastic ! count me in …. :-)
