Destiny of Spirits on PS Vita Detailed

In Destiny of Spirits, building powerful spirits and working cooperatively with other users will be the key to progress successfully in the game. If you haven’t heard of Destiny of Spirits yet, it is a free-to-play, location-based, social strategy game for the PlayStation Vita. Players from around the world work cooperatively in turn-based, RPG style action to battle fierce Chaos spirits. Today, I’d like to talk about summoning, merging and renting supporter spirits as well as items that can be used to help maximize your game progress.

Spirit Points, Summoning Stones and Destiny Orbs

This world contains three types of magical substances to earn and collect: Spirit Points, Summoning Stones, and Destiny Orbs.

  • Spirit Points are mainly used to merge and rent Spirits from other Spirit Masters around the world.
  • Summoning Stones are mainly used to summon Spirits to add to your collection.
  • Destiny Orbs are the most powerful magical substance in this world, and they aren’t easy to come by. You can obtain powerful Spirits by using Destiny Orbs for Advanced Summoning and Limited-Time Summoning opportunities. They can also be used to restore the HP of your Spirits, bring defeated Spirits back into the battle, and control time.

Summoning Spirits

If you feel your Spirit collection doesn’t seem quite strong enough, try summoning a new Spirit! You can summon Spirits using Destiny Orbs and Summoning Stones and gather more allies. Summoned Spirits are added to your Spirit Collection and can be added to your party at any time.

Merging Spirits

You can merge Spirits to increase their experience points and level them up. First, select the Spirit that you want to enhance, then set the enhancer Spirits. You can select up to five enhancer Spirits. Please note that enhancer Spirits are absorbed by the base Spirit and disappear, so please choose enhancer Spirits carefully. After the merge, your Spirit will level up and become stronger. Keep merging Spirits to make them even stronger!

Renting Supporter Spirits

A supporter is a Spirit that you borrow from another Spirit Master. By borrowing a supporter, you can bring a powerful Spirit into battle. And if that Spirit belongs to a friend, you can reap the benefits of the Spirit’s support skill.

  • Looking good! Can’t wait to see the final product.

  • thanks for more vita games… not exactly what we need…. but oh well…

so… any news for a new AAA game for vita coming from japan studio?! i would love to see that.

  • I’m guessing the beta will be sent out to random active Vita users? I haven’t heard of any sign-ups.

  • @2
They revealed the teaser for a new Gravity Rush back at TGS

  • yes, more betas, demos and games for psvita!!!!!!! Where is Tearaway demo?

  • Well it looks better than I had first thought. Kind of looks like an online SMT. I wonder if that was the intention :3

Also, show some Freedom Wars stuff Sony! I was shocked not to see it at TGS at all…..

  • I have been, and shall continue, keeping an eye on this. O.~

  • @6

There akready is an MMORPG SMT game called Imagine. Google it. It’s actually pretty fun.

  • I don’t have any RL Vita friends so not sure how enjoyable this game will be :(

  • I’m very iffy on this. I tend to be very against ftp games, but we’ll see how this is. I wish this studio had invested more in a real game

  • I was wondering about this game since it first appeared at E3. I was hoping to hear more about it last week and here you are :). One of my biggest concerns was answered last time that really appealed to me: Independent internal friends list, the lack of which killed Toro’s social aspect. Is there anything that can be done to increase closed beta chances? (Own a Vita, PS+, etc)

  • I hope this will have its own friend list, unlike that Toro game. Also, since its free to play, will it still have trophy support?

  • F2P right? Guess I’ll give this game a shot.

  • @12 It uses it’s own friends list. I just hope if it does have trophies that there isn’t one impossible one like Ecolibrium.

  • ooooh…Invite me! :)

  • I still wish you went with some animated sprites. The artwork is beautiful, but it really makes it feel cheap to have static images there. D:

Oh well. I’ll give it a chance.

I want to hear more about Freedom Wars and get some localization news on it. Plus localization news on Soul Sacrifice Delta and the new Gravity Rush stat.

Speaking of Soul Sacrifice, are we getting the cross over Toukiden DLC?

  • I’m not sure I get this. It’s “location based” but “Players from around the world work cooperatively…” Just please no ad-hoc trophies. PLEASE!

  • I’ve never liked card based games, but it’s good to see more games for PS Vita. PS4 day 1 shipping I’m out!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Im not sold on this game, which is why you should invite me to beta.

  • Lumines 2 for PS Vita please :)

  • The leveling system is like that of the mobile game Puzzle & Dragon. The “location based” aspect concerns me. But if it works well then I’m all for it. I’d like to try the beta, but even if I don’t, it’s free to play. So no real risk to try it.

  • looks boring to me! japan studio please make a non linear open world hack and slash rpg! in ps vita! not this type of games sorry but i really love my ps vita but i need a rpg that last atleast 50hrs.. hehehehe

  • How can users Join in the beta I would love to try it.

  • Looks interesting! I’d be interested in joining the BETA too.

  • Oh thank God this is for free….kinda odd seeing Japanstudio involved with this game…but whatever..this looks like the ultimate lvl of master boredom….I really dunno how can someone like this type of game…I really dont…but whatever….hope everyone who likes it…have tons of fun.Peace.

  • How can we be part of the beta? It will be random? Is there any other way to participate?

  • I bin look for info ever since e3 i want a good rpg saything would need the 3g vita or could you use the wireless
Aslo how could i get beta or do have to be a playsation plus menber also is going to lore on all the sprite you?

  • Also can you have more than of the same creatures and is there limite on how many you can will be just 3 in a battle party or will there be more

  • Are going to be rare ceartures that are mor powerful then the rest and items to boost the satas and is there to be a storline

  • Also i wish good luck on the game

  • I hope I can get in this beta. So want to play this game plz let me know if i can sign up any way.

  • SCEA, you should totally send me a beta invite. I’m a cool guy and a swell fellow and I own a Vita :D

  • still waiting and I dont see the beta

  • E-mails are being sent out to PS+ users now.

  • Loving the beta so far! I already put over 4 hours into it on the first night, I’m hooked!

I have a question though (which most likely won’t be answered), will the beta saves transfer to the full game? If not, it’s not a big deal, but just wondering. Thanks!

  • this game is pretty good so far for it be in beta, saw nothing wrong with so far.

  • Hey, his game is sick…but I’m having some trouble. Where in the world do i get more destiny orbs? I’ve been slaughtering spirits over and over again in hope of find them but I’ve had no luck. If there is a thread pertaining to this topic please reply with a link to it. Thanks!

  • Today’s a very VERRRRRY sad day, you guys know what I’m talkin bout. That’s right the beta test ended but I wants MOOAAARR!!! Anyone knows when the game gets officially released and where to leave feedback?

  • so far this is only available to Playstation Plus members to access the beta, but i have to wonder if its truely free to play

They say free to play, but why cant non Plus members access it yet so far? will it be available for all users?

i have to question if this is another money grab or a truely FREE game for all vita owners
