Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX Coming to PS3 in 2014

Thanks to all of your support, Kingdom Hearts has sold more than 20 million units worldwide! In celebration of this, and with absolute pleasure, we’re proud to announce that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX will launch globally in 2014!

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX is the follow-up compilation to Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX, and will be available exclusively on PS3. It will include the following goodies:

Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix — previously on PS2 and exclusive to Japan
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix — previously on PSP and exclusive to Japan
Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (HD remastered cinematics)

I’m so excited to be able to see all of these games included as a part of this compilation, but personally, the most exciting title may be Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix. As many may not have been able to experience its awesomeness, it’s truly one of the more phenomenal games, and now completely rebuilt in HD — you’ll be able to play it on your big-screen TV for the first time.

Lastly, if you didn’t already pick it up, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX is available for purchase, now. You might even be able to find the super rare, limited edition that contains the artbook.

You know, it used to annoy me to see all the people whine about Kingdom Hearts on this blog the last few years. All these people clinging to happy childhood memories of some old games. Well, I bought KH 1.5 HD and now I get it. I love it and am happy for all the KH you’re giving us, thank you. Great news.

Like so many have asked, will Dream Drop Distance come to the PlayStation universe in any way? Since it’s kind of important to the main plot?

Also yes Dream Drop Distance must come to a Playstation platform before KH3.

0_0 I agree, I really think that they should have used cutscenes for Dream Drop Distance instead of Re:Coded since DDD is more relevant to what comes in KH3 anyways.

:D But I’m still thrilled that I can finally have a shot at playing in the Cavern of Remembrance, I’ve been wanting to since Final Mix+ was announced years ago and I saw the area!

I’m really looking forward to play BBS but why wasn’t Dream Drop Distance included in this one? Even as a movie it would have been enough since as far as I can remember it directly leads to KH3 and is needed for it.
Please try to include DDD as well in this ReMIX too.

The only thing I can ever imagine being more amazing than a 2nd HD remix for KH series before KH3 comes out would be Versus coming out sooner or a FF7 remake. This is freaking awesome. I just got my KH HD remix going to start next week xD!!!!!

@EmJayZay They won’t. If you bothered to watch the special credits after beating one of the games on 1.5 ReMIX, there were cutscenes of KH2, BBS, and Re:coded showing. Dream Drop Distance wasn’t there and the only way if DDD will ever be on PS3 if it was released on PSN. So yeah, not going to happen.

@centricbyte PlayStation 4 will have Kingdom Hearts III only so there’ll be no KH HD 2.5 Remix for the PS4 only for the PS3 like KH HD 1.5 Remix.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!! YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!! I’M SO HAPPY!!!!!!! :D

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 was my first Kingdom Hearts game ever and no words can explain how much I loved it! Even 358/2 days brought a tear to my eyes. Was the best game I’ve played this year and beats all PS3 games.

It would’ve helped if you put it on PSN, so those of us with Vitas can play it.

…Oh yeah, I just remembered that Disney said something about not allowing a digital release when it came out. Still, I wish it (and other titles, like Star Ocean) got the digital treatment!

Can’t freak’n wait. Playing 1.5 now. After that of course I’m waiting for FFX/X-2 HD for both Vita & PS3 version. I wish Square Enix would release the Kingdom Hearts HD collections on the Vita too.

Cheers! I know I was expecting this, but not for it to be announced this soon, and definetly not BBS: Final Mix.

About Birth By Sleep, I am a little worried though. How are you going to be treating the online aspect in the Mirage Arena? Will you have some private internal server for it that you connect to, or is it just going to be 100% PSN handled?

Birth By Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 2 added so much to the series! However I don’t know why Re:Coded was even bothered to begin with. Sure it had a great story but it took it all away at the end like nothing happened.

At least with 356/2 days it added so much. Recoded felt meh.

Looking forward to KH2 Superboss fights. Hopefully there isnt a trophy for fighting Terra, since I doubt anyone will actually be able to beat him at all. Terra boss fight in KH2 makes Sephy look like childs play.

Still gotta buy KH 1.5 HD Remix and KH 2.5 HD Remix is already announced! So happy with that. Always wanted to have all these game sin HD in my PS3 collection. I had so much fun playing the first two episodes and now I can have ’em all! GREAT!

Not happy with Re:Coded in there, I think that one is a waste. I don’t understand why Dream Drop Distance is not in there as it’s a prequel to KH3

I would also like to see Dream Drop Distance come to PS3 someday. I don’t mind it’s not in this 2.5 but perhaps if it could come to PS3 before KH3 is out then that would be great!

I’ll be able to finally finish Aqua’s story.
I never played coded but even if it hads nothing to the story as you all say I still understand it being in the collection. Though I’m kinda thankful that it’s only cutscenes instead of the actual game then xD
I think it would be hard to put Dream Drop Distance in it since the game is kinda recent, but it’ll probably get a psn release at least.
Anyways, THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!

I’m going to be really disappointed if these are not playable on ps4. I am a huge kh fan and have been for years my ps3 was stolen so all my games are useless and I’ve missed on on some titles. I really want to play both hd remixe, ff lightning rreturns, the last of us, and beyond two souls on ps4 please make it happen

Love that this is coming out. I preordered the first one and got the Limited Edition Artbook Game Case; however, I did wish Dream Drop Distance was at least a HD Cinematic experience with the collection :(
