The annual Gran Turismo Awards is a celebration of continued excellence and innovation in the automotive aftermarket industry. Now in its 11th year, the GT Awards offers exhibiting cars at the SEMA show the extraordinary opportunity to become a playable vehicle in a future Gran Turismo game.

The hottest modified vehicles at SEMA will compete for the opportunity to win GT Awards based on five categories: Best Truck or SUV, Best Hot Rod, Best Domestic Automobile, Best European Import, and Best Asian Import. Each of the five categories will be judged by an expert in the field with a background in the automotive media or car building business. In addition to the five category winners, there will be an all-new People’s Choice Award.

For 2013, Kazunori Yamauchi, creator of the Gran Turismo franchise and President of Polyphony Digital, has opened up judging to fans to help select this year’s inaugural People’s Choice Award. Now, people from across the globe will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite car at the SEMA show. Check out the Gran Turismo Facebook page on November 5th for photos of this year’s People’s Choice automotive candidates.

Whichever car receives the most Facebook “Likes” will be crowned the winner of the People’s Choice Award. The crowd-sourced winner will compete along the five judged category winners for Best in Show honors as selected by the Gran Turismo staff. The Best in Show overall winner will be modeled for Gran Turismo and will appear as a playable vehicle in an upcoming game.

We have been coming to the SEMA for 11 years now and I think the fans will be blown away by the innovative car designs at this year’s show.”

  • Hello Kazunori Yamauchi you should copy/paste GT6 code to PS4 this game looks so next-gen so let us play it on PS4 :)

  • He already said that it’s going to be reworked to become Gran Turismo 7 and it would be ready in a year or two. I could understand that it’s on the PS3 because most people is not going to get a PS4 right away anyway. So I’m glad they’re releasing it on the PS3. I just hope they can finish it and not delay it when December rolls around.

  • Learn to put your GT games on psn as digital downloads as well. Not all of us buy disc only. Looks like gt6 doesn’t get a purchase by me.

  • The past winners were such awesome cars in the game. Can’t wait for the show.

  • You children need to stop asking for GT6 to be ported to PS4.

GT7 will be coming in a couple years, so stop complaining like an impatient 3 year old.

GT6 is the perfect swan song for the PS3.

I am so ready to get my second GT platinum.

  • You shoudl release this game on PS4 too. Don’t upgrade the graphics, just port it, or even emulate it. I mean, I wanna play this game, AND I want a PS4, and PS4 doesn’t play PS3 games sadly.

  • @JROD0823: SECOND GT PLAT? You rule, it’s hard to get this one. A couple of friends of mine almost have it, but they play each day. I’m not into it as much (even if I love it). Still, a PS4 version is really important since the PS4 doesn’t play PS3 games. Now there is no GT fan that will buy the PS4 before at least a year, which is sad. Also, I’d like to share videos with friends and use the PS4 features with GT6. It’s not about the graphics, they are great, it’s about playing my games on my PS4, instead of having 2 consoles stacked for years.

  • Well even though drive club was pushed back to a later date. Doesn’t even matter GT6 will as always set the bar for the most realistic racing sim on the planet. PS4 day 1 shipping I’m out

  • @XxCRAZYxRAGExX As much as I agree with your opinion about being ripped off on the PS+ update topic, what is wrong with disc only exactly? I don’t think I ever asked you about that. I don’t find digital downloads valuable at all. You don’t get a case with a manual inside to put on your bookshelves and you can’t sell them. Unless they are in handhelds, then that’s a different story as it’s a hassle to carry on the go and faster loading times.

@JROD0823 Agreed. People will never understand. If nobody knows, there is two GTs on each generation PlayStation.

  • When November 5th comes around, you won’t have a lot of time to pick your choice to add to GT, so be quick about entering!

We would love to see all of you GT fans in the GT forum or entering the forum races! http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/Gran-Turismo-Series-General/bd-p/22128
