PlayStation Plus: November Preview

It’s going to be quite the month for PlayStation fans. PS4 is almost here, and it’s going to be mega awesome when I fire mine up for the first time and already have two free games to play. Yep, both Resogun, the intense and beautiful shoot ‘em up from Housemarque(the amazing people behind Super Stardust) and Contrast, a unique 2D/3D puzzler platformer with a stunning art style will be available in the Instant Game Collection for PlayStation Plus members on November 15th.

Of course, we have plenty of other great games to keep you busy until then, like Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, which is an expanded and enhanced version of Capcom’s original IP Dragon’s Dogma. There’s a new area to explore, a fast-travel system and plenty of new quests and weapons to keep you busy. Later on this month we’ll add ibb & obb, a 2-player co-op puzzler and Binary Domain, a third-person squad shooter. PS Vita owners can look forward to two amazing action-adventure titles: the classic Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath and the ever-epic Soul Sacrifice.

These games will hit the Instant Game Collection at various times throughout the month, so check back with us every Monday morning to see all the benefits of your membership.

  • Nice PS Plus line up for November! Will the WWE 2K14 season pass be available for 50% off ($10) this month?

  • OMG this month is fantastic!!!!!!

  • yea i agree but ummmmmm its almost nov 2 and still no update to the store wth i want my new games already :P

  • Does this mean that unless you own a PS4, you will not be able to take advantage of these PS4 titles? Or will they be visible on the PS3 console?

  • Its always a shame to see games you’ve bought become free on Playstation Plus, but Soul Sacrifice was a system seller for the vita for me. Absolutely phenomenal. Im legitimately speechless.

  • And here I thought Dragon’s Dogma was at least three more months away asked on typical lapse between Eu and NA. Then, on top of that, out of left field is Binary Domain. No one could have seen that coming. I already own it, but still think that’s awesome.

  • woah SS is free for PS+ Subscribers!!

  • Still bothers me a tad bit that our EU PSN+ bothers get Revengence for free….

  • Fantastic! Thank you SONY!

  • Holy Hell PS+ I wanna play the PS4 you know

  • Awesome

  • @ Kristine Steimer Any chance of IGC games for PS Vita being playable on more than one accounts like IGC games for PS3 and PS4?

  • november when?????

  • @jimmyglol69 & Cobaindrei & and others
The games will be release throughout the month of November, a little bit each week. Each Monday, this blog will tell you what game to expect for that given week and the game is only accessible on Tuesday (when the store is updated) for each specific announcement. Most of the time, big title (DD, for example) are released in the beginning of the month (expect Nov 5, the announcement will come the 4 Nov) and the vita games are released in the end of the month. Although, this month is special with the release of the ps4, so things may be different.

  • WELP. I would like to say that even if some complain, I have been getting way more than my money’s worth for PS+. Discovered some great games, had fun with Kingdoms of Amalur (was pleasently surprised). The funny thing is, I was planning on buying this game a month ago, but couldn’t pull enough cash together. But hey! Now it’s on PS+! There is no doubt in my mind that I will be renewing. (although I really am going to have to buy a vita again, these deals are just getting better after I sold it a month ago… weirdly…)

  • I would think that Resogun and Contrast are PS4 games, so the only way to access them would be via the PS4 system, so to all asking, best be ready to get those games in your plus account Via your brand new PS4 ONLY.

I’m ready for my day 1 PS4 purchase…..As always, Keep on Gaming.

  • Who what a great update; Dragons Dargoma, Binary Domain, Oddworld Vita and Soul Sacrifice are all great games I don’t own, so those will be a blast to play :).

I do wonder about the yearly-IGC replacements for the Vita this month though; already giving out Soul Sacrifice and Oddworld shows that those aren’t part of the yearly update, so I wonder what other sony games are part of it.

The expected line up would have been LBP, Soul Sacrifice and Unit 13, but with Unit 13 being free to EU +, LBP being part of the Mega Packs in EU and Soul Sacrifice being given out this month, I wonder what Sony games will be part of it. I guess we will be getting PS All Stars and LBP alongside Soul Sacrifice (with a surprise PSP game and a huge indie game like Guacamelee!).

Anyway thinks for this great update SCEA, it will be great to play through those awesome games :).

“Great month but it sucks cuz I literally just bought Soul Sacrifice and it arrived yesterday before they announced that it’d be on PS plus and I already opened it :(”

Yeah, but you’re able to play it days/weeks before those getting it for free. You can resell your copy while Plus members cannot. You have not been shafted by life simply because the thing you bought is now cheap/free. Prices generally decrease over time. Should everyone wait until 2016 to get a PS4? Think of all the great times — all the value — they’ll get by not waiting even if they have to pay a lot more now. Just a thought. :)

  • @465 mettreidici: Thanks, I was just gonna post that. But you said it better.

@PS4 Plus: Guys, don’t mean to be rude but this has been answered soooo many times already. First page of these comments, check the replies. You WILL be able to reserve PS4 IGC games without owning a PS4. So cheer up.

@PS Plus: I’d like to give a round of applause to Plus for giving me great discounts on games I never would have paid full price for. Same with the IGC: It lets me try games I probably wouldn’t have taken a chance on otherwise (and it gets me games I was planning to buy anyway, like Uncharted 3).

  • Interesting month to say the least.

I own one of the Vita games, and (so very close) bought the other during a sale.

*And as much as I prefer to buy, find it rather annoying to purchase a game, to have it put up free shortly after the sale.*
Should those games, have had slightly larger discounts, it would have been o.k. (Like Rayman Origins, Mortal Kombat, or Lego Batman).

Other than that, for those who have purchased the console, and are without the ability to afford (Everything),
then I especially like what you are doing here.

  • And yet once again post, to find out BunsofSteel74 is acting like A Moderator again.

    Good job, fella.

  • Check out how many times ThumbsOfSteel74 has commented on someone elses’ blog.

Can you just give your own opinion about the games you like or dislike, and leave out the rest.

(That’s what PSN messages are for)

Even PrimeroIncognito managed it this time.

  • @Rezolution77: It’s called a conversation moron. Look it up. I have an opinion, and I share it. Don’t like it? Stop reading my posts. You will not dictate to me who I can talk to and what I can talk about.

Have you ever noticed how you posted 3 times in a row? Hey, let’s hypocritically point you out and talk about how you talk to others while doing the same thing! Hurr hurr.

  • And yet, you have to use the word “moron”.
*Ignoring the keeping the conversation going in a relevant and constructive way. Just as you usually tend to do.*

  • What exactly, is, Hurr Hurr ??

Also, are you sure that Gamespot, is not better suited to a person of your “caliber”?

  • Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is THE BEST addition to PS Plus so far. That game has been under-appreciated for far too long. Thank you so much for making it free for everyone who hasn’t picked it up yet. Keep those AAA titles coming! We’re grateful, Sony, for what PS Plus gives each year.

  • Back on topic (which is why it sometimes takes three posts).

It maybe due to posting on topic information / or consumer opinion on products and services, and then scrolling up to listen/read what others have to say about it,

And instead finding blog after blog of persons like yourself commenting on what other people have to say.

  • I’m totally stoked for November!
all these are games I have seen but never bought or played.

I guess i’m gonna have to try em all out!

  • One question about PS4, will I able to buy PS3 games digitally from the PS4 store? Or basically the PS4 will be mostly empty in the first days?

Also, we will be able to play Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen in our PS4s?

  • another awesome month cant wait ti play Dragons Dogma again :D!! really cool to see theres already games for Plus on PS4

  • When does dragons dogma come out?

  • its november 3 already wheres soul sacrifice? :(

  • Free Ibb & obb?! Sweet, I really wanted to check this one out on Coop.

  • @ noypi360:
As it’s ONLY November 3rd, and Vita games always come at the end of the month, you’re going to be waiting at least another three weeks before Soul Sacrifice joins the PS+ Vita lineup.

  • @AizawaYuuichi ah ok thanks.

  • Amazing lineup of games, fantastic! I have been wanting to make a return to Dragon’s Dogma for months and this deal made PS+ pay for itself for probably the 10th or 11th time this year, for me.

  • Jesus, guys. This is amazing. You’re really throwing down the gauntlet for the Next Generation of hardware. That isn’t even counting all of the other fantastic games we’re getting for PS3 and Vita. Absolute masterstroke.

  • Looking forward to Binary Domain,Resogun, Contrast, and Soul Sacrifice.

  • @ Rezolution77

You need to take a good hard look at yourself, junior.

You just did everything you complained about.

We’ll have to get the dunce cap off Ryumoaner and let you wear it for a couple days.

  • Awesome always wanted to check out Binary Domain.

  • Binary Domain wasn’t my favorite game, not saying it’s bad, just not for me. But I do own it. Looking forward to trying the other stuff. Happy no broken poker.

  • and so it bgins, I can start a PS$ collection long before I get my PS4. WOw! I love Playstation!

  • it’s not it’s saying let’s be friends

  • Really? I just bought Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen last week… at less Soul Sacrifice will be free and a few other good games.

  • Personally… I am just as thrilled about RESOGUN as I am any of the other titles that have been announced. Granted it is an indie title developed by HouseMarque it is bound to be super fun and super addictive. HouseMarque made the one game I absolutely play atleast an hour everyday (sometimes several hours) on my PSvita… Super Stardust Delta is a fantastic dual stick shooter and its PS3 counterpart Super Stardust HD is a masterpiece as well… super fun titles so I hope RESOGUN is not a let down and it is free as I am a PSplus member so nothing lost nothing gained if it is bad but my gut tells me its going to be super exciting… Love the trailers. If any of you guys or gals have a Vita and are looking for something great just to pass some time at different intervals throughout the day I STRONGLY recommend picking up Super Stardust Delta for the Vita… I think it is between $8 to $10 for the core experience but I picked up the package bundle in the PSstore for $14.99… Well worth…. I just subscribed to PSplus a couple months ago and will be a lifetime subscriber from now on…. Good Job SONY!!! GREATNESS AWAITS!!!

  • Awesome month. Really looking forward to several of these games and the PLAYSTATION 4 RELEASE! Can’t wait!

That said, will there be any updates to the “Other Freebies” section at all? I’ve seen the same ones on there the entire time. Is it possible to get some dynamic backgrounds, avatars, DLC, or other PSN items like that for free in the other freebies section?

  • @Rezolution77: Scroll up and take a look at the exchange between AizawaYuuichi and noypi360. That’s how this is supposed to work. People ask legit questions, and other USERS answer them. Do you really think we’ll be getting any replies from Sony 3 days after the original post?

Many people have asked whether they could reserve IGC games for PS4 without owning one. I answered that question: Yes, they can. Many others have posted the same thing. Good for them. Maybe the message will get out.

The conversation was both relevant and constructive until you showed up. I would say you don’t get it if I didn’t already know you were just trolling.

Still waiting for you to say anything of value…

    *checks watch*

  • @480 ChizFreak: Nope. As there is currently no way to play any PS3 games on a PS4, this unfortunately includes Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. :/

  • Well damn, I came here all ready to be pissed off at yet another month of crap, but this is probably the best month since the launch of the IGC. Plus, I get to see the new Dragon’s Dogma content without having to by the game a second time.
