The Drop: New PlayStation Releases for November 19th, 2013
The Drop

In the wake of the PS4 launch, the world of PlayStation continues to grow with papery platforming, rubber-burning races, online fighters, shadow puzzles, anime antics, and… farming?!

The makers of LittleBigPlanet are bringing their latest, creative concoction onto PS Vita in the form of Tearaway. With a world and cast made entirely out of digital paper, Tearaway is just about the cutest platformer around. Expect astounding visuals and witty puzzles from top to bottom!

And if you’ve yet to purchase a PS4, the latest edition in the Need for Speed series hits PS3 this week with enough breakneck competition to satisfy the most seasoned adrenaline junkie. Need for Speed Rivals features the AllDrive system, which fuses single-player driving into a seamless multiplayer world, where your friends can race in and out of events without the need for lobbies or loading.

But if you’re more in the mood for a colorful, thought-provoking challenge, look no further than Contrast, which also lands on PS3 Tuesday. And for those of you gamers that still fondly remember crossing blades in Soulcalibur II, perhaps you’ll want to note the imminent arrival of Soulcalibur II HD Online — a visually upgraded take on the classic fighter.

  • I didn’t know Young Justice was coming out this week. Looks fun too. Well I’m a fan of the show so it looks fun to me.

  • Drop it like it’s hot!

  • Isn’t Stick It To The Man supposed to be cross-buy with the Vita?

  • ummmm… Tearaway? November 22nd?

  • @ 47, Tearaway arrives Friday. Not much else for the Vita for a couple of weeks though.

  • @ 53, Stick It To The Man arrives on Vita at a later date.

  • Seriously what happened to PSone classics?

  • @50: Sigh…The stores updates Tuesdays. TUESDAYS.

  • @7 I hope for Minecraft to come to PS3 as well. @57 I know some of you guys want more PSone classics to PS3 and Vita but it takes time, so be patient ;) .

  • Ryan, where is TEARAWAY
I know it’s Friday release but should be posted here too because it’s the drop for the week rite?

  • And vita is rocking

Malicious rebirth, gundam breaker (import), injustice, amazing spiderman, tearaway, ys celceta (must get limited one)

I have no money nor time for those you know Sony D:

  • IM SO PISSED AT SONY! BOTH MY SONY HEADSETS DON’T WORK ON THE PS4 AND THEY WERE MADE FOR CONSOLES! THEY HAVE NO WAY TO APPROVE MULTIPLE FRIEND REQUEST, AND I HAVE SO MANY FRIEND REQUEST! AND I CANT EVEN USE MY PVR! SONY THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN PATCHED ON DAY ONE! SINCE THE XBOX WONT HAVE NONE OF THESE PROBLEMS ONCE XBOX COMES OUT IM SELLING MY PS4 UNLESS THESE ISSUES ARE FIXED!

  • Omg!!!! Why are people complaining about no new content on PS4. The system barely came out Friday. There’s a lot of games that they release on day one. The new stuff will be coming soon. I wish people would stop complaining about it.

  • Man is it heaven for PS+ members who like RPGs!! First Kingdoms of Amalur, now I’m LOVING Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen, and soon Soul Sacrifice for Vita?!?! After such a long dearth of of role playing goodness on PS+ it’s been made up for in spades! Thank you PSN, and BEYOND!!! Glad to hear you again Ryan, keep on casting!

  • I hope you guys to a Black Friday flash sale for the PSN Store (From Nov 29 to Dec 1) this month.

  • Soul Caliber II HD yes I been waiting on this.

  • I got to play contrast on the ps4, it was pretty fun to be able to jump in and out of the shadows to complete puzzles, anyone would have fun completing them.

  • I can’t believe some actually look, to the drop weekly and are disappointed no Terreria on Vita. Seriously? There isn’t even a release date announced. It is still only Q1 2014, which, being this close to Q1 and no date it wouldn’t be any surprise that it doesn’t happen then either.

  • SOUL CALIBER 2 HD!! :D

  • @ 2

Well, they can’t drop anything for the PS4 until they fix the system 1st…

  • @5 I think it could be 9.99$
Either way, the best one is SC3.

  • @61 I’m loving Gundam Breaker on the vita too. It’s perfect for farming while watching tv.

Spiderman sounds great for the vita. Maybe one day. But for now I can’t.

  • GTA V for Vita PLEASEEEEEEE

  • Waiting for that Soul Sacrifice on PS+.

  • They should’ve made Soul Calibur II HD Online for the Wii U as well. I feel Link is crying on the inside.

  • Hey, I am buying my first Sony Product ever. I have played Xbox before, but I thought This Console is boring! So, Im going to get the Ps Vita. Should I get that? I only Have $200.

  • I honestly don’t know what to do..

  • Yay Soul Calibur 2 HD…finally…cant wait to rip people apart with Taki….freaking worst idea ever to remove her from SC5…how I missed her….will be trying the Blood Knights demo and whats this?…no demo for NFS Rivals and Contrast?…what a shame.

  • @76 You thought the console was boring? Did you put a game in it? While I prefer my PS3, there is no doubt xbox and xbox360 had lots of great games. If you found it boring, maybe you need a new hobby.

  • @ 76 TobyHatfield1998 – Of course you should get a Vita….you will see…its light years better than a xbox.

  • @ 79 rabidninjamonky – Yup a lot of great multiplatform games.

  • Oh yeah forgot to mention….AquaPazza will slip by most people eyes but its looking good and I really wanna try it….thats another game I’m looking forward to.

  • @81 Welmosca I loved my original xbox. It had lots of great games and better graphics than PS2, that’s why I chose it. I bought the Xbox 360 on launch day and it broke in a month and a half, i took it back and exchanged it, and the replacement 360 broke 3 months later. I was so disgusted, I threw it in the garbage and quit playing games for 6 months. Finally I saved up enough for a PS3 and bought it. That was 4 years ago or so and it has never had a single problem, so I will definitely stick with them for this next generation.

  • I love my vita too, it’s amazing, but just not enough great games. It scares me that so many good games that should be on vita aren’t. Especially Mirror of Fate HD and RE Revelations, ports of 3ds games. Lots of games that were announced 6 months ago, haven’t even been mentioned since, like Terraria, God of War collection and Bit Trip Runner 2. Terraria was announced for August, and I haven’t seen anything on the internet since. We kind of deserve some information on it. Even though I’m a little bummed about the vita support, I still love it. Rayman Origins, P4 Golden,Soul Sacrifice and can’t wait for Ys MoC and FFX and X2, plus Netflix and Music Unlimited are greaton it.

  • Ps… Hoping we get some good news on more full hardcore gamer type game for Ps Vita like God Eater 2 or Gundam Breaker. We don’t have that many good game on Ps Vita need over here in the good USA like they do in Japan for the Ps Vita. Plz Sony give us some better game and stop putting out all these Indie and Mini game plz.

  • FURMINS (VITA)?

Sly Cooper®: Thieves in Time – VITA – Sale?

The Wolf Among Us Ep.02 ?

    Doodle Evil (vita) ?

Ms. Germinator (vita) – Deals 30%/50% (plus)?

  • With a tomorrow drop i expect to see the prices…
well i will wait the entire day

  • I’ll most likely be picking up Spiderman. :)

  • @rabidninjamonkey
That’s IF we frickin get FFX/X-2 on it… looks like my Vita is only going to be playing RPGs through remote play in the future…. :(
Ys shall feed my Vita’s dying soul.. (for JRPGs)

  • We have nba 2k14! Why the eff do we want another ps4 nba game!! When nba live always sucked its not gonna make a difference! Most of us are gaming nerds we dont care about sports! Well just me and only basketball and boxing…

  • Well the psn store looks robust as usual, just may try out the demo’s.

  • @Lodi16B

Ys: Memories of Celceta is coming Nov. 26th.

between that and Tearaway ( and everything we got at end of summer/ early fall) vita owners should be pretty content going into 2014.

i dont know about you but my back log is huge for that system.

  • i like my ps4 but xbox one you can do so much with it why didn’t i just wait to be sure sony needs to fix issue with bf4 not working correctly & Ea should never release a game if it’s not finish !!! Why Sony Why can’t I add my own music or speak to my ps4 like xbox ? or why can’t I stream my movies from my mac to my tv anymore hmmm all this money for what & I can’t even play it rite hmmmmm…

  • WHEN ARE MORE PS4′s GONNA BE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE?????????????????
They’re sold out everywhere (Gamestop, Walmart, Best Buy etc). I’m trying to purchase one before or after Thanksgiving. Preferably from Gamestop.

  • Wow even with ps4 next gen I have to wait until 5 or 6 before I get the live 14 demo! This is really bad.

  • I agree this is a very weak release for the PS4, i for sure thought that the first tuesday after the release would bring us new PS4 owners something into the store…..what a let down

  • Adventure Time needs to get ported to the PS4, stat.

  • I’m pretty much done with my Vita games since July and I’m still looking for something worth my time. Killzone just kept me busy for a day, multiplayer included. Spider man is a no go for me, too childish and there is no word whether or not Ubisoft is/will be working on a new AC title for Vita nor there is a word about Borderlands 2. Sometimes I regret for have bought this thing. It really SUCKS to own a Vita sometimes…

  • need for speed rivals and contrast are coming to ps3? wait a second i bought a ps4 because they said the ps4 games needed a new console or they couldnt play because programmers complained the ps3 didnt have enough power. yet there still putting the same games out on both platforms lol. if i would of known all the games are coming out on ps3 i would of saved 600$ on my ps4/accesories and just waited until the games were 20$ used

  • Very nice $ony, bought Need for Speed Rivals pré lunch for 59 USD and 2 weeks later you have a “special edition” for 49 USD … Congratulatiuon$$$$ !!!
