What better way to relax during the holidays than bundle up, pour some hot cider, dim the lights, and enjoy a few rounds of glorious video game pinball? Did you think I was going to suggest spending time with loved ones? Oh. That’s good, too.
This week, PlayStation is getting ready to enjoy the holiday break, so we have one game coming to PS4, and it’s a great one: Zen Pinball 2. For those of you that already own tables on the PS3 or PS Vita version, you’ll be able to download the PS4 tables at no additional cost. For those that are trying out Zen Pinball 2 for the first time, the Sorcerer’s Lair table is free to play.
Given the light release lineup, The Drop will also be taking a short holiday break and coming back to PlayStation.Blog at the start of the new year. Until then, I wish each and every one of you a happy and restful holiday. May your gaming be ample and your snacks be delicious.

I just checked the 11/28 blog and it said Vita free release for December would be Sonic All Star Racing and Urban Trial, did these come out? Nope. So thanks for the holiday message but I’ll take the games instead.
@49 & 50: The Drop posts are strictly for what is coming out on the following week. PS+ posts are always Mondays and announce what will come out the following day. There are still two Tuesdays left this month, the 24th and 31st. Vita games always get released for + at the end of the month. Usually the Friday closest to the end of the month will also have a PS+ preview to announce what will be arriving the following month as well. Also, how does a big dog golf with no thumbs?

I must say I’m new to the PS world. I’ve always been a Nintendo fan, but the PS4 won me over. I pre-ordered and received on launch day. However, I did not like the fact of needing to pay yearly for online play. I decided it was worth it, once I heard PS saying all PS+ members receive free games every month. Well, I’ve only seen three games free on PS4, but MANY more come out on PS3 since the launch of the PS4. Now, this Pinball game is only free for that one level, but no more? I’m starting to think PS is not holding to their promise to new PS+ members who own the PS4. None the less I LOVE my PS4 and the PS+ service. I felt that some good critical feedback could help improve an already awesome thing :-). Have a very Merry Christmas!
@53: That happens when you buy a system day 1. My fiancé wanted to buy me a PS4 for Christmas, but I told her to get it for my birthday (September). It’s better to buy a console when the catalog is big and the games aren’t expensive because you can buy them used (call me cheap, but 60 bucks for a game is way too much). I bought my PS3 a year ago and I’m getting many great games for like 10 bucks.
We need more JRPG.

Still no word on The Walking Dead Season 2 season pass?
@ cornerstone316: Welcome to the Playstation Nation. To catch you up, we were supposed to get DriveClub and Resogun in November. DriveClub was delayed, and we got Contrast instead. Most likely, we were supposed to get Contrast in December, but we ended up getting it early, so there was no new game this month for the PS4 IGC.
The amount of free games on PS3 and Vita are not changing just because the PS4 is out, so yes, you’re going to see the PS3 getting A LOT more free games than the PS4 does. However, Zen Pinball 2 is NOT a free game for the IGC. Zen Studios is simply being nice and giving people a table to try out, so they can see how the physics work, get the general idea of their table design, and even test out the 3D if they so happen to enjoy that and have a 3DTV.
PS+ is definitely a great service, but only having one console will definitely hold you back from getting the most out of it. We should be getting another free game in January on PS4, so look forward to that. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. :)

Don’t worry about it. The peon was talking to me, not you. Another post must have been awaiting moderation that bumped your post up to 61, and mine bumped up to 62. This is about the millionth time that this example of why people should quote names rather than post numbers has occurred, but of course, most of our fellow gamers are either too slow to realize it, or too damn lazy to care. Unsurprisingly, carlpeon is one of them. After all, the guy was too dense to comprehend that I wasn’t talking about myself when I said “some people”… ha!
