  • Man, last weeks deal were really, really great.

  • YAY, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never is on sale for 6.99! -__- Seriously though, how many Playstation owners are Bieber fans? They should have their accounts perma-banned.

  • @2 I agree! this is no xbox blog

  • interesting sale

  • man seen the words music sale and though Project Diva was on sale >.< owell I guess =/

  • I’m sure someone will like this sale.

  • How about making Music Unlimited available for everyone worldwide ? let it be like the store, if you have a US PSN ID it will work. so many people want to use it but its locked to specific countries :/ or if thats hard enough, how about telling us whats the progress of PS4’s first major update that hopefully includes MP3 support so we can listen to our own music :D

  • And here I was hoping for DJMax Technika Tune to be on sale…

  • LOL @ Music sale, is it April 1st already? Anyways, why is it that every so called movie sale is anything but a sale or good deal?

  • Really hope this isn’t the only sale this week. i could care less about overpriced music and movies. I just want games from the psn.

  • music unlimited without having credit card !! that will be awesome

  • Will there be a sale for a Music Unlimited subscription as well? I’ve tried it on PC and really loved it, so I’d really like to jump on board to use it with my PS4!

  • Speaking of music how about that update that unlocks the ability for us to play mp3 music?

I bought Music Unlimited, but it’s lacking a lot of good bands. The Beatles for example. It’s a shame that my PS3 is more functional as an entertainment system than my brand new PS4. When I have friends over and I want to play music I have to switch back to my 7 year old PS3 to do it. It’s a bit embarrassing to be honest.

  • If DJ MAX Technika Tune for vita can’t make it on the list for a MUSIC sale then it’ll probably NEVER go on sale. I’ve been waiting and waiting to try this out. :(

  • Great, KickBeat will be mine.

  • Oh boy…Just bought “Sound Shapes” for PS4 a couple of days ago…

  • I was hoping we were finally going to get Beat Sketcher on sale (Music game that uses PS Move). I wish you guys would put old stuff like that on sale more often. I’m not it wouldn’t generate a lot of sales but it would be nice for the few people who are interested in it.

  • I hope there’s another big discount for Music Unlimited soon.
I refuse to pay full price for an app that still feels like it’s in beta across all my devices.
It’s hard as heck to find anything on Vita and it has trouble playing some songs (cuts off half way through, even when i reload and reload)
The PS3 version has no shuffle feature and takes forever to load. (I love the water background though.)
The PC version is annoying because it will shuffle songs but out of about four hundred on my playlist it will only play about fifty songs so I end up having to search down a long list that takes it’s time loading.
And my Galaxy tablet…well, I deleted the service from there all together it was so bad. It constantly lost connection or would tell me I had to sign in to listen to my off-line music…
So far PS4 version seems okay, but I rarely use it on there.

I love the service for what I paid (the sale in 2012 plus the extension offered) but I cannot recommend it to anyone for full price. No way.

  • Really surprised to see a music sale, but no sale on Music Unlimited subscriptions (or even addon like you had before.) But for you metal heads Anvil: The Story of Anvil is worth it.

  • getting all the RB track packs, Kick Beat, RetroGrade and Soundshapes! Thank you!!

  • I like how Sony tried to make us believe that the reason they didn’t add MP3 playback was because they were so focused on gaming features and it wasn’t because they wanted us to use Music Unlimited.

    I say that’s hogwash.

I doubt they’re trying to give us that feature and are just trying to make as much cash as they can off of us.

  • When are we getting MP3 support????

  • Let’s just throw away all that money we’ve spent on MP3s in order to subscribe to Sony’s expensive and faulty service. Not like we have a choice if we want to play music on our PS4.

  • @13, 21-23: I totally support your unhappiness with Sony’s decision to not allow the PS4 to play MP3 files. I am participating in a boycott of Sony’s Music Unlimited until Sony releases an update to the PS4 that allows it to play MP3 files. I used to have a subscription to Music Unlimited & was planning on renewing – but decided against it once I heard that the PS4 would not support MP3 files.

I also don’t believe Sony’s explanation that they failed to include MP3 support on the PS4 because they were too focused on games. THIS IS TOTAL & UTTER NONSENSE!!!! I simply cannot believe that a major entertainment technology company (like Sony) would simply be too focused on gaming when they were designing the PS4 – especially since the PS3 allowed us to play MP3 files. WHAT A JUVENILE & SILLY EXCUSE!!!

WE WILL NOT FORGET ABOUT THE PS4’S MISSING SUPPORT FOR MP3 FILES!!! WE HAVE VERY LONG MEMORIES & ATTENTION SPANS.

  • Is it also available in Canada?

  • If you have a paid membership, will it extend it?

  • No Cytus Lambda sale? Sadness.

  • It would’ve have been a good idea to try adding some of the game soundtracks on PSN to the sale.

  • @ CommandingTiger: Try reading the part of the article where it says “new Music Unlimited members only”. No, it will not extend existing subscriptions. Sony, like any other business would, is trying to make as much money as they can off of squeezing people onto MU before they update the PS4 to play mp3 files. They are then hoping that those people will like MU and keep subscribing to it.
However, I spend plenty of money on music already, and don’t really care to stream it when I can download it once and play it locally, so MU was never an option for me. I’m just gonna wait patiently until they patch the PS4.

  • Well this is cool for those that don’t have music unlimited & a great list of games.

  • Nice sale! I just purchased Sound Shapes, for the full price, yay! xD

  • Would’ve been awesome to have a sale on gaming soundtracks! :)

  • Do movies sell so well on the store that you don’t need to give good sales? Is it Hollywood’s fault? I’m just trying to figure it out, because those prices would be ridiculous as regular prices and supposedly they are on sale.

  • I want Vanna Venom scene queen hairstyle for my play station home avatar please really emo hairstyle big colorful hair extensions with a nice size bow on top :)

  • I agree with the sentiment from a lot of people that A) these movies are overpriced even when “ON SALE” and B) where the heck is .mp3 (and DLNA for that matter) support on PS4?

  • My wallet can take a break this week :) I still need to play all the other games I have picked up these past couple weeks.

  • i think the discount for PS Plus isn’t available yet, please fix it.

  • It’s still laughable, and or sad that the PS3 has more functionality than the PS4.

I overheard a Best Buy “expert” try to explain why the PS4 can’t play mp3’s or stream video via DNLA.
They said it was because Sony doesn’t have the rights to the codecs anymore. He obviously doesn’t realize that DNLA was created by Sony and mp3 codecs are freely distributed.

The only reason Sony is not including either of those, or YouTube for that matter, if because they have seen the amount of money that a Netflix type business model can make and they want THAT. If you want music you can pay a $60 fee and they have you covered with MUSIC UNLIMITED. If you want video they have you covered with VIDEO UNLIMITED. If you want to play PS1, PS2, PS3 games they have you covered… pay a rental fee and play PS Now.

Hell, even the PS4 system is irrelevant. You will be able to do all of that with a Bravia or tablet. They are turning into a service rather than a console based company.

  • How do you get the 60 day trial after purchase?

  • Hmm. I bought Sound Shapes for PS4 on the 24 or 25 I think as part of this sale. But I never saw anything offering me the Free 60 Day Music Unlimited Trial. I’ve never signed up or tried Music Unlimited before. So I should be eligible.
