  • @84..research before commenting. Ps4 is dominating the sales charts, breaking records…….So sony has zero to worry about currently. Games are coming, is this your first launch console? This is normal, good games take time.

  • …and…another week with nothing for the PS4. Nice to fork out the $500 on a box that has more use right now as a video player than game system. I’m surprised that there has been zero planning for this system for game releases, and by the looks of it more games were pushed out to mid-late Q3 to Q4.

  • Will you all do final fantasy sales like the EU ? thanks

  • Greetings. Where is the Last PS Mobile Festive Giveaway update of this week ? I thought this was the last week in which we will get the last 2 free games. Before we had 3 weeks and you promised three weeks two until January 22th, you can check.

  • @PrimeroIncognito: There are a great number of gamers out there who want games that look pretty AND play well. Like you, I value great gameplay over graphics. But many out there are growing tired of “retro” styling and see it as somewhat lazy.

I suppose I like it when it’s done well. But either way, there are already a decent number of games on Vita (with more on the way) that look nice and play well. Lots more on the PS3, not so much (yet) on PS4.

@everyone: Even with all the names called and arguments had, I always find good points being made on here (even by those with whom I disagree). Keep the conversation going.

  • Does anyone recommend Disgaea? I’ve heard of it but I’m still a little weary.

    Side note –
For the life of me I cannot understand why people are complaining of both the lack of free ps4 games and ps4 games in general. The console was just recently launched, you cannot expect to have a library of games to choose from already.

  • #Spyro #Crash #Vita

  • “The PS4 just launched, you can’t expect”

When you release a product you do it with all drums and whistles, with an offer, you don’t release an almost empty box. 90% of all games are ports. They should have prepared a great lineup or delayed the thing.

  • You should have finished that quote properly, “a library of games to choose from.” Also I doubt delaying a system while a major competitor releases their own would be a smart idea.

  • You know, it’s worth noting that disgruntled early adopters are paving the way for all the great games they claim to want. If all of you hadn’t bought the system, developers would be even less likely to care about making great games for it.

You can look upon that as an opportunity to carry with you a sense of great entitlement throughout this console generation, or you can just be happy in another few months when all the great games come out. And know that you helped them to exist.

  • @ThumbsOfSteel74 You’re making way too much sense.

Quickly everyone, disregard his comments lol!

  • @ BlueBl1zzard: Yeah, I agree!

@ ThumbsOfSteel74: Stop being logical! People here don’t like logic! You have to be negative and use lots of hyperbole, and claim wants and needs for a large group as if you’re a representative of that group, and it’s not just your personal desire! Make less sense or no one will take you seriously!

    /sarcasm

  • Can we have Suikoden II already, Sony?!

  • I’m happy to have purchased The Last of Us and Season Pass.

In America, those who buy the Pre-Order Left Behind receives:
    – The Last of Us ™ Dynamic Theme Ellie
    – The Last of U ™ s American Dreams Issue # 1 digital download

Also in Europe there are these bonuses?

  • Another update, another week to save money. Whoever hasn’t bought Kickbeat yet should get it. Great game.

@THE-PLASTICA-MAN Uhhh, no they didn’t. The last one was last week. There were only going to be 10 mobile games offered for free when they first announced it. So five weeks, not six. January 22th was the last day the games on the 15th was offered for free. Please don’t get those confused.

Now I’m the one making too much sense lol.

@ThumbsOfSteel74 Third with the great gameplay over graphics. Graphics don’t make a game, don’t know why people think this way. Those dipsticks especially the ones Primero mentioned earlier needs to grow a spine. It’s like saying the new Powerpuff Girls reboot sucks because of the new animation.

  • Nothing for me this week. Last time I turned on my PS3 was like 3 weeks ago.

  • @Gamerzlimited: Graphics don’t make a game, but I was trying to split the difference somewhat between Primero and the other guy. A lot of devs are riding the “retro” trend into success and relevance they wouldn’t have seen without it. I’m glad this has happened for those who were creative to begin with; they deserved a lucky break. But not all retro-styled games are any good. Some are just…there.

Fans of anything can be hard on “reboots” and “re-” anything. They tend to like things the way they are.

People are entitled to like anything they wish. I thought the Uncharted games were absolutely beautiful to look at. While the gameplay was nothing special, I did enjoy the games. That, in the end, is my criteria for judging games. Did I like it? Okay, good. But if I didn’t like it, the reason was probably related to the gameplay.

Graphics are the icing on the cake, but first there has to be a cake.

(Oh, and I can barely stand QTEs. Uncharted and other graphics-heavy games are full of them. I liked Uncharted despite this, not because of it.)

  • FIX UR EFFIN PS4 SERVERS!
The trophy sync rarely works, your servers crash games, you guys are milking our money!
    This is ridiculous!!!!
I don’t care if it’s only been 4 months, that’s 4 MONTHS that you could of had a couple patches out. QUIT worrying about stupid indie games and fix your damn servers! God damn!

  • @ Gamerzlimited,

Calling people names for stating their opinion says a lot about your you as a person, including your cognitive ability and your maturity–not to mention your reading skills. Keep that in mind when you post.

I said nothing about gameplay not being important. ThumbsOfSteel74 got it right on. All these indie games make me feel like no effort is being put into producing complete packages. I just finished playing through The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (the GBA version of the SNES game) on my old DSL. Now THAT is a great game. Put something like that on the PSN and I will buy it in a second! These cash grabs don’t hold a candle to games like that.

I bought the Vita to buy games that stand out–that take advantage of its awesome features. If I wanted games like what’s been coming out, I would have skipped the Vita and bought games for my Android. They are fun, no doubt. It’s just not what was touted when the Vita was first released and not what I want as a Vita owner and a good customer. I want games the are complete and well-rounded–not a collection of one-trick ponies that might add up to a single game that was released 20 years ago.

  • I got an email about the Final Fantasy sale going on right now. Unfortunately it’s across the pond in UK areas only. Please, please, please bring this sale to the states. I have a few of them already but would buy every single one of the remaining ones in a heartbeat if the sale came over here

  • @ ThumbsOfSteel74

Well, I never implied that pretty graphics were a bad thing, specifically. Of course, if a game features a really attractive aesthetic, I’m all for it as long as gameplay doesn’t suffer as a result (from more development time poured into making it pretty instead of ensuring its enjoyability).

I have a hunch that we probably feel exactly the same way about this… ;)

  • Oh, but I must disagree with one thing…

Sorry, but, I strongly suggest NOT encouraging a sense of entitlement to gamers in any vein. Bad idea. We’ll be taking a few steps back on the evolutionary scale if more people continue to jump aboard that bandwagon.

As if that hasn’t spiraled out of control already…

  • @ AV-X14

If you think no effort is being put into indie games, perhaps you should do a little research into the world of indie game development. Start by watching Indie Game: The Movie. It will help you get a better feel for the heart and soul that indie devs truly pour into their creations. And that movie merely scratches the surface.

There’s a lot more to understand about the life, the work, and the stress of being a game developer, indie or not. This community could use a little insight into how things work on the other end. Hopefully, in time, we’ll see a little more empathy around here coming from consumers, instead of being drowned in selfish demands, puerile threats, baseless paranoid conspiracy claims, and unprovoked character assassinations like we usually are.

  • @ PrimeroIncognito

I don’t disagree with you. There are a lot of thankless jobs out there where people pour their heart and soul and just get doors slammed in their faces. That’s the way it is. It’s happened to me. I do empathize, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s not what I want. I put the money in based on what was promised, and now I expect the promise to be fulfilled. Plain and simple. It’s not being selfish. It’s business, and I speak with my wallet. And that’s why I can’t sympathize.

  • @ AV-X14

Just curious, what exactly was the Vita “touted as”, and how has it failed to fulfill those promises? I’m obviously not seeing the same thing that you are.

I’ve only been on the fence due to my personal lack of need for a portable gaming system, but now I’m really starting to lean more and more towards purchasing one based on the ever-increasing library of titles that actually look like tons of fun to play.

I’m really interested in finding out if and when the redesign that Japan got is ever going to come to the states as well. I’d wait for it (would rather have the LCD), but if it’s going to remain overseas, I’ll probably be jumping on a NA Vita soon.

  • @ThumbsOfSteel74 I still think graphics are important too. As long as it doesn’t look too aged, I won’t pay too much attention to it. Sometimes it’s hard for me to grade because it’s subjective. Story is important too, but let’s not change that subject.

I guess the people prefer the classics. No wonder why not many people like reboots because they change the characters or the whole franchise completely.

I only played the 1st Uncharted, but I still agree on your comment about it. The graphics are very nice even after how dated it is but the gameplay feels wobbly. I can never give it a 9/10 because of that. An 8/10 for me is the best grade I can give it.

@AV-X14 I will keep that in mind. but what I meant on the ones Primero mentioned earlier was those two guys on the blog about OlliOlli’s launch. That didn’t mean you and the gameplay being important had nothing to do with it. Those two guys said that every game should have good graphics and that it’s not worth $12. If I accidentally meant you because Primero replied to you, then I apologize. Should have been more specific on who I was talking about. I may call names sometimes, but I only do that to trolls and neither you or Primero is one.

  • 124@ what was the promise? what you expected is not a promise… indie games are good for gaming it lets every genre get a fair shake it opens the doors for new generies.. the retro look and shell shaded look in games is not just for mobile games.. it not just one cost plan. look at sly cooper, that game cost a lot of money to make.

a lot of indy games are easy to play that’s the whole point of indie games, fun addictive, fast play. A lot indie developer are on pc and very good games. Games like payday the heist are from indie devs so depends on what your gaming taste are. if was not indie expansion demon soul and dark souls would have never gotten the day of light.

  • I may be wrong, and correct me if I’m wrong, but I remember a lot of hype about console-quality gaming on the go. PS3 quality and all that. Looking at the launch lineup, they were totally on the right track. Those games just blew my mind! Then it all came to a very slow trickle, with indie games basically taking over as the main type of game. Now there is silence. Don’t really hear anything about big releases anymore. Even a God of War announcement for 2016 would cheer me up.

At this point, I think the indie games are at a saturation point. There are just too many simple games, and not enough complexity to warrant that console quality status. Mind you, Starlight Inception was looking good till it vanished. Haven’t played a game like that since Starlancer for the Dreamcast!

I know it’s all related to financials, but it’s still frustrating. Wish that someone would at least discuss the situation with the customers.

Gamerzlimited, sorry for jumping on you like that.

Have to run now. Might be back later…

  • I want YouTube on my ps4.

  • Someone is playing A Tale Of Two Brothers Son? I found a bug in the game. I can not steal the keys to the guard at the gate. This happened to anyone?

  • I would really love to see Injustice Gods Among us make it to the instant game collection.

  • @Final Fantasy sale (NA): We had one last year in early February.

    blog(dot)us(dot)playstation(dot)com/2013/02/04/50-off-select-final-fantasy-games-for-the-series-25-year-anniversary/

I’d look for it to come back in a week or two.

@Indie games(pro/con): I’m not saying one shouldn’t try to convince others of their point of view. It’s a bit difficult to have any kind of conversation that way. But after a while, people will agree or not.

I enjoy lots of indie games. Others I either don’t enjoy (not many) or avoid altogether, because I know myself rather well and I’m 99% sure I won’t like them. The same goes for so-called “AAA” titles, or whatever one considers to be the opposite of indie.

I’m not offended by people not liking indie games, even when they yell out somewhat troll-ish things like “indie games suck!” Nobody has to like them. I’m glad each supposed side of this argument has its adherents. That way we can all find something we like to play. It would be a sad gaming landscape indeed if everyone loved only AAA titles, or only indies.

    [/2 cents]

  • I was previously contacted by Sony’s marketing research group due to my high spend rate on PSN. However, I have not spent very much money on PSN in the last 6 months. Why? Because my 1TB hard drive is full, and I don’t want to hassle with deleting and redownloading games. I wish Sony would update the PS3 operating system to recognize 2TB drives, but I doubt they will, since their focus is on the PS4.

I actually own a Samsung Spinpoint M9T 2TB drive that physically fits in my PS3, but the OS will not recognize it. I could put it into my PS4, which I understand will recognize the drive, but there is no point to it because it is sitting in my closet, unused.

  • any chance you could bring Tomb Raider Chronicles to the PSN Store ? Why is it the only one missing ?
Also , a sale would be nice on ALL Tomb Raider PSone Classics like you did for Final Fantasy.
Heck , I wold even buy a PS Plus membership if you had them free.
