Video Unlimited Highlights

This week’s New Release Recap is all about survival. Tom Hanks stars in Captain Phillips, a film based on the true story of a 2009 ship hijacking by Somali pirates, and Legendary actor Robert Redford plays a shipwreck survivor lost at sea in All Is Lost. Enjoy these epic new films and more, plus new seasons of some of TV’s hottest shows now on the Video Unlimited service!

Academy Award nominee for Best Picture, Captain Phillips is based on the true story of the 2009 hijacking of the U.S. container ship Maersk Alabama. The film focuses on the Alabama’s commanding officer, Richard Phillips (Tom Hanks), who surrendered himself to a group of Somali pirates so that his crew would be freed. Director Paul Greengrass distinctively highlights the relationship between Phillips and the Somali pirate captain, Muse (Barkhad Abdi), who takes him hostage and how both men find themselves at the mercy of forces beyond their control. Watch this pulse-pounding thriller today on PlayStation Store.

Captain Phillips

The unlikely duo of Gotham City’s Batman and the intergalactic cop Green Lantern uncover an impending threat bigger and more deadly than anything the Earth has ever faced before. In order to survive, it will be a race to forge an uneasy alliance of the Earth’s greatest super powers! Together with Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg and teen super hero Shazam, the team prepares to meet evil head on and offer mankind its only hope! That is if they don’t self-destruct first. Don’t miss the latest animated feature from DC Entertainment, Justice League: War, available now on PlayStation Store before Blu-ray and DVD.

Justice League War

Academy Award winner Robert Redford stars in All Is Lost, the telling of one man’s battle for survival against the elements after his sailboat is destroyed at sea. Forced to rely on ocean currents, he uses what few tools he has to chart his progress in hopes of falling into a shipping lane where he may be able to hail a passing vessel. With the sun unrelenting, sharks circling, and his meager supplies dwindling, the ever-resourceful sailor soon finds himself staring his mortality in the face.

Boycott Music Unlimited until Sony releases an update to the PS4 that allows it to support MP3 & DLNA.

If the PS3 can support MP3 & DLNA – then the more technologically advanced device – the PS4 should support them.

@2 I’d boycott, but Sony won’t take my money anyway, because they NEED my credit card number apparently.

Please add Migo: YRN.

It’s on Spotify, no reason it can’t be on Music Unlimited.

I enjoyed the free trial of Music Unlimited, but I would never pay for a music service. They don’t even have any Tool. It was nice to listen to what I wanted while playing Killzone though. I love Video Unlimited and get almost all my movies from the PS Store

It’s more important for Sony to sell consoles than to provide customer service…
mp3, mkv, …. I guess Sony could all do that with the PS4… even headset support or 3D playback but why should they? Selling more consoles is more important than to statisfy the 4 million PS4 owners. They are just gamers! Therefore they should be happy if they can play games at all…
