OlliOlli Update: Win a Custom Skateboard, Helmet and First Aid Kit

So, we are two weeks since the launch of OlliOlli – the response has been AMAZING! Our tiny studio in New Cross, London, has been overwhelmed by the love that we have received from reviewers, but we’re mainly overwhelmed from the sheer Twitter love that the game has got in its first couple of weeks (you guys rule!).

As you may have read in our communications and on forums, there is a pesky bug that seems to crop up from time to time. We found out about this just as journos were doing their initial reviews, and the team has been working tirelessly to try to smash out a fix. It’s not an easy task, but we have help from our other Indie Vita friends and the splendid people at Sony – so fingers crossed we will have some news for you soon.

In other news, we have now had three people (that we know of) complete RAD mode, which is pretty special. Only half of the Roll7 team have achieved this, so it’s no mean feat! Maybe we need to make the game harder?

Anyway, you lovely people have now had a few days to get your hands around the controls, hopefully racking up some nice combos, so it’s time to put you to the test, skate comp style.

Next Thursday, February 13th, the Daily Grind Spot will be the Base Amateur 5 Spot. So, if you have unlocked it, get practicing! If not – crack on with career mode until you can access it (then rinse and repeat!).

The Daily Grind ends at the following times…

Friday 3:00 AM for GMT Europe
Thursday 10:00 PM for EST Eastern US
Thursday 7:00 PM for PST Western US

King of the Daily Grind for the day will win a custom OlliOlli skateboard, helmet and first aid kit, as modeled by the lovely Shahid Ahmad and Spencer Lowe from Sony below.

OlliOlli Goodies

For those who don’t quite become King, please send a picture of your score on Twitter, tag it #OlliOlli and follow us. Our Lead Programmer Nikos will do a blindfolded run, and whoever posts the score closest to his will also get a helmet, T-shirt and first aid kit.

Everyone is in with a chance to win! Just remember to keep your calm and nail that perfect landing. Good luck peeps! May the score be with you…

  • yo dude i really want gta san andreas for the gita please if u make gta san andreas for tge git im sure im possitive people will buy i will so please make gta san andrease

  • Why yall talk’n about gta talk about this skateboarding game come on “NOW”

  • It’s got to be more than three people that completed rad mode; I did it, and it wasn’t THAT bad. You just need to be persistent; play each level over and over until you memorize the timing.

Shouldn’t developers have access to the stats on how many people got the trophy? (All the unwashed masses can see is that 0.1% of players got it.)

  • I love this game, but knowing my schedule I’ll be happy if I can beat RAD mode before OlliOlli 2 comes out.

  • SaintNobody’s right, I too have all of RAD mode completed, as well as all of the other trophies : )

  • What the heck is RAD mode never in my life as a gamer, I herd of that before somebody tell me what does RAD mode maen?

  • OlliOlli is incredible, and I am not a fan of skating. You guys did one hell of a job!

  • This has got to be one of my favorite games on the Vita and one that since I bought it I have been actively recommending pretty much to everyone I know. You guys made a fantastic game and I can’t thank you enough for all your work.

  • I say it once and i will say it again..graphics are cool..but please look into making it look better..we are in the 2ks..i know us old school motobike and mario ..but seriously..if this game would have hd gaphics where you can customize your character and give it special moves..then we are talkin..but i guess that can be imput in the future..or by TONY HAWK ..ASAP!! I would love a game like that on the VITA..:p

  • When are friend leaderboards coming?????

  • I’m definitely not gonna win, but I love that this is happening.

  • Manjoume Thunder please tell me what RAD code mean please!!!

  • Loving OlliOlli, but the constant, random, constant (did I say constant…? ’cause they’re constant) game crashes are, quite frankly, getting #*$% annoying. That aside, I have a lot left to master in this game and feel I’m only now just getting good at it. Bravo on a superb, addictive handheld title. It’s nearly perfect. Now patch out those bugs, please and thank you. The game was not cheap.

  • Well what people have to understand is this was there 1st game & there working on straightening it out. Have patience if you don’t have that too bad. Your going to have to develop it. I still haven’t bought this & I want to, still waiting on my memory stick that I bought from Japan through Amazon which is a 64 GB.

  • Sure, but shouldn’t the bugs have been worked out in testing? The game crashes A LOT. If it wasn’t stable, they should have figured things out before release. We all know release dates are often pushed back for this exact reason. I shouldn’t have to pay to beta test something. We have a reasonable expectation to a stable product. Play it before you criticize my comments! OlliOlli takes about 45 seconds to load, and can crash anywhere from 30 seconds to several minutes into gameplay. It takes a good minute or two to generate, send, and potentially fill in a crash report. That’s a lot of waiting and many times I’m kicked right back out once I reload the game again. Pretty frustrating! As I said, it’s a great game, but I’ve already sent several dozen crash reports, and two + weeks after release, there is still no patch available.

  • @genius527

RAD mode is the hardest mode of the game. As far as I know, you have to complete two other difficulty settings in each level to unlock the RAD level. I’m assuming completing RAD mode entails getting every star in every available level.

  • @Letters2Kay to unlock RAD mode yes, you do have to get all of the stars (complete every challenge) on both Amateur difficulty and Pro difficulty. To complete RAD mode however, you have to run through all 50 levels again, but this time your objective is to reach the end of the level getting only Perfect Landings and Perfect Grinds.

  • …that’s hardcore!
