It is with mixed feelings that I inform you that I will be stepping down as President and CEO of SCEA effective March 31, 2014. This is a result of a mutual agreement with SCEA, and I leave knowing that the PlayStation brand has never been stronger, PlayStation 4 momentum continues to accelerate, and the future will only get brighter for our gamers.
Serving PlayStation fans for the past 19 years has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my career. Your passion for gaming inspired me every day.
I want to thank you for constantly pushing PlayStation to deliver breakthrough gaming and entertainment experiences, and to never settle for “good enough.” The embodiment of this commitment can be found in the PS4, which has quickly become the #1 next-gen console worldwide…thanks to you.
We’ve shared many memories over the past two decades and I’ll always be grateful for your support.

Will never forget your E3 announcement of the PS4 price of $399.99 and the ability to play used games, sending two devastating blows to the Xbox One. The PS4 selling twice as much as the XB1 shows how right on the money those decisions were.

Jack, quite simply… thank you. Your leading of SCEA made Sony the Best Place to Play this year. I was a Day 1 Adopter of PS4 because of your presentation at E3. I hope your successor will be just as good as we usher in E3 2014 in just a few short months.
Thank you for everything you have done for all us Playstation fans.. whether we are Playstations loyalists or first time Playstation owners, we know the passion you felt for us. We as fans will carry that passion forward though it won’t quite be the same without you at the helm.

Thank you for this message. All I feel like saying is thank you very much for everything you have done for the Playstation family. I’ve been playing Playstation since the first one came out and I have to say I definitily had the best moments of my gaming life with Playstation. Since I was a 10 year old kid, I had all the Playstation consoles and I don’t regret anything about them at all. Now, as a grown 27 year old gamer, almost a father myself, I do know I have accomplished something so special with all these consoles (including the portable ones) that I would never be the same if I ever had chosen other plataforms. Playstation is unique, is passion, is emotion, is dedication and most of all, is gaming. That’s what’s defines it. And you made it all possible, not only for me but for millions of players out there too, for sure.
I can only wish the very best on your new journey, best os success, best of luck. You deserve it all.

My fav. moment of you was when you “dropped the mic” on SPIKE TV (E3 I think)… not only because it was a funny moment but it showed that you could be down to earth and light-hearted too….. it is a GAME industry after all. Yes you’re in the business of making money but when companies lose sight of what they’re making and what they’re making is supposed to achieve… they’re on the wrong path. SONY was on the right path with you and real gamers could see it. Take care. And send me a PSN invite if you want to lose to someone else who has been “with” playstation for 15 years… :P

The most recent conference was amazing and how your completely stole the show by making the announcement of the PlayStation 4! Microsoft was completely blown away!
