inFAMOUS Second Son: Delsin’s Ruthless Powers in Action

There’s a hushed excitement at Sucker Punch as we approach our March 21st launch date. We’ve been working on inFAMOUS Second Son for almost three years, and in just a few days we’ll finally be able to put it into your hands. Several of our team members are traveling around the world sharing our latest gameplay demo with press and fans, and today we get to show you a mission playthrough from that build.

Pre-order inFAMOUS Second Son

Like the previous games in the inFAMOUS series, Second Son gives you the option to use your powers heroically or ruthlessly. The path you choose will affect every aspect of the game, from character relationships to powers development to the story itself. In this play through, Delsin has convinced Fetch Walker, a Conduit with the power to control neon, to help him take out a group of anti-Conduit protesters. With Delsin’s influence, Fetch is willing to exterminate the “haters” and anyone else who gets in their way.

For players who choose the ruthless path, combat is fast, explosive, and lethal. Restraint is unnecessary. The faster you can obliterate your enemies, the sooner you’ll gain access to your strongest powers, and it doesn’t matter who gets hurt along the way. For those who choose to be heroic, combat is about accuracy and precision. Explosions are great, but civilian casualties are not. Your rewards will come from helping citizens and from using your abilities to capture enemies alive. The standards are higher, but for those who want to be a hero, that’s exactly the point.

Next week, the choice will be in your hands. Will you embrace responsibility to become the city’s savior, or will you unleash your wrath on everyone, regardless of the consequences? We know either way, you’re going to have a great time. You have until March 21st to decide. :)

  • I’ve already pre-ordered the game so I’m sold on it, but man, what’s with the audio design? It’s definitely varied and creative work, but it feels so restrained and quiet and the voices just sound like voice actors in front of microphones, not like people in a world. I’m still super excited for the game but I hope it’s just a problem with the video and not the game itself.

  • Awwww, Fetch is the bad character? Oh well, I guess I’ll see her on playthrough 2.

Also, the lack of showing the good character makes me believe its something you dont want to spoil. Who can it be? A Zeke who’s now a conduit? I hope not! Not after his reckless actions to become one gets Trish killed. Yes I hold him responsible. Which is why infamous 2 I started out bad. Not that it matters since you guys just made the choice yourself.

  • figured id be patient so i could say thanks for more great stuff sony =) just finshed downloadin lone survivor =)

  • Back on topic, this game looks awesome. Still have to play Infamous 2, but I’m planning on making this one of my first titles on PS4. It’s tempting me to go and buy one now!

  • Three years? I don’t know that I like the sound of that… does that mean it’ll take 3 years to make the average PlayStation 4 big budget title? Doesn’t that translate to less games?

  • Well I have my collector’s edition already reserved since last year so I’m good. When a game isdoneright this is what you get a incredible IP!!!!!!!!

  • I’m talking about PSN games. Europeans pay 5-10 less bucks with the same salaries north americans have for day 1 digitals.

  • Oh gamers. Always finding trivial things to whine about.
    Game looks great! :D

    Not the same thing.

If Sony tells you exactly what went wrong and what they had to do to fix it, their competitors could be tipped off to sensitive proprietary information. Especially with something like tech, and with the information on the internet, it’s available to the entire world to see.

  • pablofsi08 – Let me put things in perspective. A preorder costs 70 bucks on US PSN. It costs 65 euro on EU PSN. Cheaper on EU PSN, right? Actually, no. Due to the relative value of money, one euro is worth MORE than one dollar. Meaning the game does, in fact, cost MORE in Europe than it does in the US. Problem is: salaries are actually very similar in ACTUAL MONETARY VALUE, not in ACTUAL PURCHASE VALUE. Meaning we get a similar amount of money as you guys… but our stuff costs more.

Essentially, cost of life is higher here than over there, and isn’t matched by an increased salary.

Learn exchange rates and what they mean in terms of actual cost of things, please.

  • Looks great can’t wait to play this on my ps4.

  • @109
except we’re not asking for specifics! we’re simply want to know about a delay the day of!

you’re right, it’s not the same. It’s like we walk into your store and ask if you carry a certain brand and you just ignore us… that’s more like the same thing.

  • This is the first current-gen looking games on any either console.

  • Oh s**t I can’t remember the last time I got goosebumps. That was a brilliant way to end the trailer haha

  • @ khaosklub

Honestly, you just need to learn to be more patient.

What do you want? A new message every 30 minutes that repeats the same thing? “We’re still working on it, thanks for your understanding”. What would that accomplish? I swear, it’s like you guys need to be constantly tended to, like you need a babysitter. If they said it’s on the way, then it’s on the way.

I’m done with this topic. You may have the last word. Peace.

  • at last something new and tangible
