  • This is great stuff! One question, though: when is someone going to update the Netflix app? It doesn’t support Profiles, making it useless to someone that shares an account but is not the primary Profile.

  • when is some ps4 apps comming along,mp3/video playback or putting pitures on the ps4 also when is vita tv comming out in the us/eu and ps4 dynamic themes as well as our own pitures for the background

  • Any chance on any Ultraviolet support? Preferably Vudu, though Flixster was announced a long time ok. Or how about Ultraviolet support through Video Unlimited.

  • I hope the Crunchyroll app is been release on EU PSN since, the Reset trick to my knowledge doesn’t work after Firmware 2.0

  • M LB .tv M LB.tv. MLB.tv please it’s o mobile platforms why not vita??

  • Hulu Plus! Yes!!! I fall more in love with my Vita everyday.

  • You’re tearing me apart Sony!!! Vita MLB.tv app please!!! Make it happen!

  • Love this!

  • An Amazon Prime Instant Video app would be nice.

  • please crunchyroll be out in Canada

  • So, hey, Sony. With all of these wonderful entertainment apps out and on the horizon, I feel like you guys should have some kind of Vita-derived set top box. Like a… Like a PS Vita Television or something. You know. In the west.

  • Will the Netflix app on the PS Vita be updated for profiles? It *needs* it.

Why isn’t Crackle on PS Vita available in Canada? We have the app on PS3 and PS4 and mobile devices. So… why?

@50: What do you expect from primarily simulcasts? smh, you really don’t like anything. No matter how dumb the reason.

  • Finally was tired of using remote play to watch crunchyroll on my vita.

  • Not bad:) If we can get Amazon Prime, then I will be complete. I feel that the vita should have the same apps as the PS3 at least.

  • Wait, what gives? I live in Canada and the Crunchyroll app is available on my PS4 and my PS3, but when I go to the store on my PS Vita, it’s not there for download. I’m not surprised that Hulu and other apps that don’t work here on other Sony platforms aren’t available, but Crunchroll is clearly available in Canada and it works. So why haven’t you provided it for Canadian PS Vita owners?!?

  • Same goes for Crackle, by the way!

  • Is anyone else having trouble finding it on the ps store? ive searched for it multiple times, tried to update it says i have the latest update. if anyone can help me that would be great.

  • Finally!

This is good news. I hope there are more to come over the years.

  • I Can’t find the Crunchyroll app on the store on my PS Vita i even checked my PS3. WTF!!

  • One More thing Why won’t my PS4 recognized my PS Vita via USB. WE WAN’T TO CONNECT OUR EXTERNAL MEMORY DRIVES LIKE USB AND WANT to PLAY MP3s and Movies. And chage the background also Live Wallpers. and we want a PORN APP!!!

  • No Google+ app yet? :(

  • Do you think we can have a twitch app for the vita? i would love to watch and share streams with my vita friends.

  • And Google+ for PS Vita?

  • @65: it is in Canada… you just didn’t wait until the store updated to whine about it. And Crackle is coming next week. Check Crackle Canada’s twitter. They replied to me about that.

  • Great news about more channels coming.. It sure would be nice to get a darn Netflix update. We need profile support, darn it!

  • Any news on Amazon Instant Video? That was one that was announced when the PSVita was first revealed, but still all these years later we haven’t seen a thing. Is it still coming eventually?

  • Waiting to see the reader app, been waiting long for it!

  • Crunchyroll is cool, but I found Qello Concerts to be seriously lacking in video and audio quality. Most of their content looks like bad transcodes of DVD rips, which I’m not down to pay for. It’s too bad, I loved an HD satellite channel I used to watch that had HD versions of Later with Jools Holland, The Basement, Bonnaroo, and Isle of Wight festivals.

The real thing both the Vita and the PS4 need is decent support for HTML5 video and audio. They barely function and even popular video game sites don’t render properly. (Read a polygon.com article and note how the oft-used italic font is unreadable on Vita.) Additionally, video and CSS effects appear to not be hardware-accelerated *at all* and pinned to a single core — my old iPhone 3G renders the HTML5 fishbowl demo more accurately and with better frames-per-second than the PS4, which is a little ridiculous.

Anyway, looking forward to improvements on all these fronts and either a browser that actually supports Youtube’s HTML5 video or a youtube-native app for PS4.

  • But…but…. “auto dim” after 30s and max 10m for “auto standby” kill fun from watching videos on crunchyroll….Not sure about the other apps from this update, but games suffer from this as well. Terrible option….

  • Crunchyroll and crackle are great for vita among the others alongside existing such as Netflix.

However these are not accessible in the UK or EU and there are lots of subscribers in countries other than the US myself included who has been a long tem Crunchyoll and Netflix subscriber for about 2-3 years so far.

It would be great if these apps were published for EU/UK in the near future or at the very least Crackle, Crunchyroll and Netflix.

Show UK subscribers some apps :)

  • I can’t find this on the Vita – how do I download these wonderful new apps and lovely things to my VIta? Or is it not out in the UK yet?

  • Crunchyroll :D

  • For the love of all that is holy. Please make an MLBTV app for my Vita. I have been waiting since launch for it.

  • YAY!!!! So glad Crunchyroll is on the PS Vita now. Though I was getting around it by linking my Vita with my PS4 and watching Crunchyroll through my PS4. lol But now I can watch it directly which seems more stable. ^_^

  • Anybody know Crunchyroll’s release date for New Zealand?

  • anyone know for crunchy roll can i still use it on the vita if im not paying for it?
