Here at PlayStation, we listen closely to your comments and requests, which are weighted heavily when looking at the future of our platforms. Since PlayStation 4 launched, we’ve heard a lot of great feedback from you about what you like with the platform and what you’d like to see us work on. I’m happy to report that, as a direct result of your feedback, we’ll soon be bringing some of your most-requested features to PS4 with a system software update in the upcoming weeks. These features and additions will help make your PS4 even more socially connected by further enabling you to customize your most epic gaming moments and granting even more options to show them to your friends.
This upcoming update will add a rich video editor with a simple tool to personalize your video clips, and you’ll also be able to export to and save the videos and screenshots you create by pressing the SHARE button to a USB drive. In addition, this update will add an HDCP off option for capturing gameplay via HDMI, a feature we’ve previously said would come after launch. We recognize that some gamers want to record and share longer clips of their gameplay sessions, and we’re excited to deliver this option with PS4. There’s a lot more coming in this update as well, so stay tuned for more—there will be plenty in the update to excite everyone.
As part of a separate system software update in the future, we have been working with our partners at Twitch and Ustream, and will also be adding the ability for Twitch broadcasts to be archived – another highly requested feature among PS4 fans who are taking advantage of the SHARE button features. These broadcasts will be also provided with a higher resolution of 720p, so PS4 fans can enjoy live broadcasts with clearer images. We’ll have more to come on these updates and more in the coming weeks.

Will this new update bring 3D blue ray support? It is really a pain switching back to my PS3 for 3D Blueray support. Any chance future updates will have this, it seems like a basic feature (available on almost all BluRay players for like $80)…
I would like to know when we’ll get the remaining features that where supposed to be available at launch.
So far we’ve had minor updates but what happened to the suspend/resume mode, and the head tracking for the PlayStation camera(considering it’s 1 of the only reasons i got it at launch).
So far we’re nearly half way through the year still missing half the features that were promised and have jack-all good games, i mean so far infamous second son has been the only great game but that didn’t go for as long as the first 2.
I’m a major PlayStation fan, have had all of the consoles other than vita but the biggest reasons most of us got the PS4 was because of the features that we’re still waiting on several months later and i haven’t found any info that lets us know what’s going on. It’s just getting frustrating having next to nothing to play, all the launch titles could be beaten in a few weeks.
So my biggest question is when are we going to see an update that will give us the features that were originally supposed to be on the PS4?
yeah it’s all nice those new features, but i think you really should be working on FIXING the current features.
Share options still broken/not working
I don’t think they really understand how big this issue is as mr yokomoko (or something) tells us it’s only a hand full of people who are having this issue. Well it’s allot more than just a handfull.

Sorry for the bashing, but this one really starts to irritate me.
If I can’t turn HDCP off by the time Watch Dogs comes out I will find a way to bypass it so I can record it for my YouTube channel. Until then I will wait and hope that it gets removed.
I have been a loyal sony owner since 1st gen playstation, I had my ps2, and my phat ps3 (all still with me). I have since just got my ps4. Out of all of the previous models this has been the biggest disappointment to me. Not that this machine isn’t fast and visually appealing it’s lack of things that I can do with my ps3 can do has been the biggest. If I knew then what I know now, I would have waited for another 6 or 7 months and got me a nice tv. So sony kick it up a notch and wow us.
Two questions:
Firstly, do we yet have a time window in which to expect this update? I’m very, very excited.
Secondly, this is a bit of a small thing, but it still irks me. If a person takes screenshots in quick succession, the screenshot icon in the upper right corner tends to be caught in the shot. Would it be possible to separate this UI bit from what the console is actually trying to capture? Again, a small thing, but it’d make getting shots a lot easier without having to have that thing stuck to my shots like a really big mole.

Can you update the issues with the sub account. I am 23 and stuck with a damn sub account. With my own ps4, I cannot use any of the new share features because it is a sub account. Can you please address this issue so that we do not have to suffer and sacrifice our hard earned trophies. At least let us use the share feature and use ps+ without resorting to the master account. I don’t want to start over and lose all of my trophies. I put over 6 years in my account and you are telling me that I have to throw all that time away? That is unfair Sony. Please give us information on this issue. It feels like we are being left in the dark with no mention of it whatsoever.

I am a Call of Duty YouTuber with an Elgato capture card and I have waited since day 1 to be able to capture game content with my capture card!
A spercific date for the upcoming update would be greatly appreciated!!
It’s been almost 3wks and in my experience with the game/media world usually upcoming weeks means 2-3 weeks. I don’t know why more on this update hasn’t been mentioned but it’s very frustrating seeing th Xbox getting updates every other week and being able to provide a date as well as a change log.
In the future I know sharing is a big deal for you guys but it’s not the most important aspect currently seeing as how there are still things that were suppose to release with the console that we don’t have.
Also. Could you please make it to where i can add videos, picture and music to the PS4 from a usb and listen to music while i play games. ONE MORE THING. ADD THEMES TO THIS THING!!!! MY PS3 STILL DOES IT. THIS SHOULD TOO. I mean isn’t that only right???
Hate to be the guy who has probably repeated what others have said, but surely the most wanted improvement to the share function is the ability to directly upload video clips to YouTube; considering that is the world’s largest video-sharing website, seems a bit of an oversight by Sony to have missed this, especially as most gamers that record game-play operate a YouTube account.
I hope to see this implemented soon!

I’m sure this has been said but I just want to see the share function to work as intended. How many times have I wanted to share a clip and end up with some random clip, or more often the FIRST 15 min of gameplay instead. Just hope its fixed soon.

Is a YouTube app being held up on Sony’s end or on Google’s end? Further, if/when it eventually comes, will it be able to watch paid content such as rentals and purchases, or will it be limited to free channels as it is on PS3?
That update sounds great! In the future I would like to be able to customize the theme, just like I could on the ps3. Also I think this playstation store could do with improving in terms of layout and especially performance – The store takes so long to load sometimes (and I have a very fast download speed) and finding what you want takes a few too many button presses for my liking, the xbox live marketplace is slightly more steamlined.
PSN………..friends notifications , i have so many friends but never see or know when they are online. i have to stop m game play and check my friends list to see if one of my buddies are online. it would be nice if it was like ps3 and informed us when a friend is coming online or offline. thanx in advance sony.
To be honest. Even though I have a PS4 Im not really a gamer.
I was sad to see pretty much not many apps which could have been there from launch.

4, SKY app (Most important for me)
5, Playable downloadable demos
6, Be able to refund Playstation Plus. I bought three months and It has no features I will use. I though online library was an area of games you can play.
7, Was hoping there would be a library of PS3 games to download. Wheres Soul Calibre V etc
8, DNLA
9, MP3 support of course
