Video Unlimited Highlights

We’re really excited for our New Release recap this week. We have a mixture of action-adventure, fantasy and supernatural horror – there’s something for everyone! Now available on the Video Unlimited service are The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones and our 99 cent rental of the week, Man of Steel.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug: We’ve all seen the Lord of the Rings series, like, a million times, so we’re amped for the second chapter of this Hobbit trilogy. More dwarf action – including an amazing choreographed barrel escape down a raging river – and the addition of Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of Smaug, the treasure-hoarding dragon. Make this one one you can’t miss.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Our favorite hobbit, Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), finds himself on an epic journey to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Tolkien’s timeless story comes to life like never before in this dramatic prequel.

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones: Get ready to be really, really scared. Hailed as “the best in the series,” by Steve Barton, DREAD CENTRAL, this horrifying spin-off/sequel to the original Paranormal Activity will send chills down your spine.

  • I need to know if Video team are planning to post captioning info on detail screen for movies and TV shows? I mean when people are looking at details information screen on how many GB will it take to finish downloading, which sound feature is added synposis and subtitle. ALL OF THEM HAVE SUBTITLE WORD but next to it is always BLANK!!! It does not inform us whether it support captioning feature until we start stream the movie or a TV show episode to find ou? You guys from Video Store team HAVE NO SENSE OF DDECENCY NOR RESPECT TOWARD PEOPLE who plan to buy them. Shame on you. You are the best con artists that take advantage of our money.

  • Is Ultraviolet support ever coming?

  • Why haven’t the new Fairy Tail Episodes been posted? I’ve been waiting and only 1-84 is up when 85-108 should be up now. I hear it’s on Xbox already, also /can we get the ability to buy seasons as a whole etc. I think you guys should takes notes from iTunes. It’s the only reason I don’t buy much on PS’s Video Store. Also, the speed you guys are adding shows to the PS4 Video Unlimited, is just way too slow, as a big fan of charlie brown, It’s hard, if not nearly impossible to find Charlie brown stuff and I bought that Blanket one and STILL can’t watch on my PS4. Please sleep it up if possible. Also the ability to sort Video Unlimited videos by Show and ep number, not episode title would be great so everythings in order.
Either way I’d like to say like I said (Music Unlimited) a few weeks back I believe, ScHoolboy Q’s Oxymoron deluxe, track 11 break the bank cuts out to silence half way through.

  • You all really need to adjust the pricing for Music Unlimited. I subscribed for a year, and enjoyed using it on my smart phone while working out, but I’m not willing to pay $9.99 a month to have that access when Pandora charges $3.99 for similar (not same mind you) services. I’m thinking $6.99 a month would be my sweet spot. Anything above that I can’t justify.

Also, why are your 3D prices higher than other serivce providers? Frozen 3D is $7.50 on Video Unlimited, but Vudu offers it for $6.99. Same for Thor and many others. And when will the PS4 support 3D movie playback?! I haven’t hooked it up to my 60″ because it can’t do what my PS3 can!

  • Thank you for bringing The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug to the 3D section of Movies.

  • Sony music unlimited.
Can you please update your catalog?
I have been looking for this particular song
By Diplo called (Revolution) and can’t find it.
Can you please send me a link? Thank you.

  • As always, please keep up with Yoshida’s statement of bringing simple things like CD/mp3 playback and DLNA to PS4?

I find time and time again there is little reason to even power up my PS4. The Youtube app would also be nice.

  • If i buy or rent a movie on ps4, could i watch it on my ps3?

  • Y’all funny

  • Nope lycan5290

  • Hey,

I’ve been somewhat vocal on Sony’s websites about the need to add credit card information to your account in order to sign up for Music Unlimited…

4 months ago, I said the 3 month subscription @ $3.99 would probably be the last time I subscribe unless you guys take away this ridiculous need for cc authorization.

So a month or so ago, my MU subscription runs out and you charge me $9.99 for 1 MONTH, automatically… There isn’t even a 3 month subscription option anymore, and I’m not about to pay $100.00+ a year to subscribe to your service.

This is shady, on a Microsoft level. First you get the fan base, then you rape them… CUT IT OUT.
