  • I am surprised Child of Light is only $14.99. It’s an indie but still it’s published by Ubisoft, who’s not known for user-friendly price tags. (Doesn’t seem to be cross-buy, so Ubisoft is not THAT generous.)

How long is the game supposed to be?

They need to update that trailer. It screams platformer rather than RPG. What’s the ratio of platforming to RPG’ing?

  • If you think im paying $20 for a year old pc game then youre crazy. And if you think the plus discount makes up for it, youre wrong.

  • So “Stealth Inc” is FREE with PS+ but the not ps4 version?

  • PrimeroIncognito

    @ GummyCore

Ubisoft has published a few games like this, all at reasonable prices. Outland (released at $9.99, received numerous sales, and showed up in the IGC), Cloudberry Kingdom (released at $9.99, also saw a few deep discounts), etc.

Also, only 3 weeks after Driver: San Francisco was released back in 2010, it dropped in price down to $39.99 from $59.99, and in my opinion, it was one of the best games of that year, even of the entire PS3 catalog. The Rayman games also saw swift and substantial discounts…

    Perhaps you’re thinking of Activision?

I’ve never had a problem with Ubisoft or noticed anyone else feeling ill will towards them. Did I miss something?

  • I know Ubisoft is not as ‘evil’ as Activision, but they always gave me that impression. Perhaps it’s the way they kept milking the Assassin’s Creed series (I have most of them but I still hate the stupid controls mapping and the ridiculous scifi BS). Ubisoft is becoming like Square Enix, who kept tagging a “Final Fantasy” label on everything. (Seriously, Ubisoft, go make a Pirate’s Creed or something, drop the whole AC marketing label.) (Oddly I don’t have any ill feelings towards EA. Maybe cos I don’t care about their yearly sports game or BF.)

Still, I would like to know how long Child of Light is supposed to be, and the platforming:RPG ratio.

  • Any pre-order bonuses with child of light?

  • @66 We all kept our PS3’s for a reason, why complain, we all knew the media update was a long way off but still bought a PS4, Why? FOR THE GAMES!

  • Allow me to make some requests/suggestions.

    PS1 Classic:
    Strider 1&2
    Tecmo’s Deception
    Kagero Deception II
    Deception III Dark Delusion
    Colony Wars 1, 2 and 3
    Tenchu 1 and 2

    PS1 to Vita:
    Bloody Roar 1 and 2
    Metal Gear Solid
    Crash Bandicoot games

    PSP to PSVita:
    Megaman Powered Up
Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi Tag Team
    Tekken Dark Ressurection
    Metal Gear Ac!d 1 and 2
    Metal Gear Portable Ops
    White Knight Chronicles Origins (US)
    Tenchu Shadow Assassins

and the introduction of PSP Import options compatible with Vita with:
    Macross Ultimate Frontier
    Macross Trial Frontier
Gundam Seed Federation vs Zaft II
    Gundam vs Gundam
    Gundam vs Gundam Next
    Kamen Rider Super Climax Heroes
    Kamen Rider All Generation 2
any of the Super Robot Wars games

Among several others, but these are my essential/favorites.
I could go on forever for the Playstation/Playstation2/PSP legacy/library is enormous and the Classic section of PSN available on PS3 and Vita is one of the huge draws for people of all generations to experience tons of games, specially on the Vita anytime, anywhere.

As long time Playstation veteran with tons of discs (AND UMDS) aching to play them anywhere on his vita.
    Thank you.

  • I don’t think I can’t make better suggestions than ClawOfTheFallen so +1 for all his awesome recommendations. Also I will add, please bring Sword Art Online to the States! The anime is so popular worldwide, there is no reason of not brining the game. It’s obvious that is going to sell!

  • PrimeroIncognito

Yeah, just going by the screenshots, I thought Child Of Light was a platformer too (with RPG elements like Castlevania: SOTN) until I read about the turn-based battles. It looks really pretty though.

I don’t harbor any negativity towards EA either, or any publisher, actually. People don’t seem to realize that Activision and EA spend a TON of money on advertising (and in EA’s case, at least, a larger payroll, too). That’s why their products tend to be priced higher for longer. To recoup those expenses. Of course, people always jump to the “corporate greed” theory without investigating, but it’s really just basic business.

Ubisoft, in my experience, has generally put out quality products that have been worth the asking price. But it’s possible that I may have missed something here or there…

  • By the way,

    – How long is Time and Eternity supposed to be on sale? It’s been there for months, for eternity. If it’s supposed to be a price change, shouldn’t it be removed after a week?

    – It seems every other week we see R.I.P.D. going on sale anew again. Shouldn’t there be some control over this?

    – Why is “Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion Xl” a pre-order? It’s probably new to PSN store, after being disc only for years, but is there a need for pre-order? (I didn’t see any pre-order for Persona 4 earlier, just saying.) And can you please type the name with “XL” rather than “Xl”? “Xl”, with the lowercase L, makes it look like the 11th game in a series (which could indeed be a new game for pre-order, lol).

    – The Thief theme is marked as a dynamic theme on the store. Looking at the video there, I don’t see anything moving at all. It’s just a static theme. And for that matter, all the icons look like the vanilla XMB icons, only thing changed is the wallpaper. Charging $1.99 for a wallpaper and marketing it as a dynamic theme, now that really fits the thief theme.

  • They should make themes for the ps4

  • daylight it not release ????

  • @Kristine Steimer Thanks

  • Finally persona 4 on ps3 =)

  • I swear some people just love to complain. Less complaining, more playing!

  • I want Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) digital too

  • Boy oh boy, if I ever feel like getting my daily dose of people with an overinflated sense of self entitlement, I need only read the PS Blog comments.

  • I’m happy about Persona 4, though I have Golden, so no need.

  • Any word on if the 64 GB Vita memory card will make it stateside? I’m still waiting on that to release before I can download the digital games I purchased and I refuse to buy anything smaller at this point.

  • Having framerate issues in the PS3 version of Stealth Inc. Just got to the first boss and the framerate totally tanked.

  • final 14 is beta ???

  • Click, click, click, Child of Loght pre ordered.

  • DIABLO III SALE!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!! COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that mickey game is this month right?

  • Excited about FF14 on ps4 but also very confused. I want to get in on the early access this Friday so the steps to do so are; Pre-order the game at local retailer, they send me a code for early access, I download the client on PS4 for free, enter for mentioned code on PSN(?), then I should be able to play on the 11th, right?. Is this all correct? If so, that’s great, makes sense. But then why do I need to go get the physical copy on the 14th? Why after the game is downloaded and Ive been playing for 4 days would I need the disc? This is my confusion. Someone, please. Explain. Its making me insane.

  • Flying Hamster HD $0.49 $3.99

I just bought this thinking it was for play on the PS3….

It says “PS3” under the logo on the PSN Store so I figured it was for Vita and PS3. It’s not a big deal as it was only 50 cents, though you should really fix this as it was a big waste of time and I kind of wanted to play it.

PS, why not add which systems these sale items are for on here as well?? I see people asking for thing week after week and they go largely ignored.

  • Great sales last week. This week seems to really be lacking. I was wondering why all this months sales weren’t listed. Hopefully they’ll have better sales next week.

  • @126 : if the early access is anything like what it was on PS3 : yes, you got it right

    @122 : beta is over

  • No Easter sale for the US, are you freaking kidding me??!

  • I don’t get it , I’m looking at FFxiv, you can download the game for free on psn but if you look at the price changes section it says the price has changed from 39$ to 24$ (standard) … by the way, I also know there’s a monthly fee, but the for game itself (the client) i would like to know where do we go to pay it if the download is free ???

  • Cannot Launcy Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Please register the promotion code included with your package or download.

PSN didn’t give a promo code

  • forget it … didn’t read the other comments

  • Can we have Nocturne now?

  • Grabbed all those Game Atelier discounts, Stealth Inc, and the Ragnarok Odyssey freebies (which look to be perma-freeb anyway), even though I still don’t have a Vita. Dunno if I wanna convince myself on Child of Light right off, though it’ll need to be mine as some point down the line. Glad to see more retail releases coming through digitally, and hope that keeps on to games I’ve actively wanted to see, too. Aaand got the PSAS:BR pack, mostly for Unfinished Swan, though I don’t have the game itself. Hey, mehbeh for the IGC? Eh?

  • (But oooh, Child of Light, you do so tempt my cheapskate heart…)

  • Oh, right, and Persona 4’s release as a Classic. Still haven’t started over/continued on FES (PS2C, y u no compat w/ memory cards?), so still haven’t gone into P4 or P4G. But yeah, ATLUS, jump on the other Shin MegTen games, the ones that don’t have divergent versions to deliberate on.

  • Sooooo when can we purchase that beautiful Last of Us Remastered that is being shown in the Ps Store??

  • There’s not much going on here, some app updates are cool (at least they’re supported) and getting Flying Hamster for 50 cents is awesome, the final push to buy!

  • @126 : sorry, its not a code in the box that allows you EARLY access but a code on the pre-order receipt. careful! for me, ebgames never gave me my code and i was not allowed early access.

@everyone else : FFXIV is NOT free. The post is misleading! The only thing that was released was the actual game client. It’s only so that people who will buy the game will be able to have the client ready when they purchase it. It’s kinda like having a demo installed (unplayable demo that is) and once you buy the game you get an unlock file.

  • Oooh Child of Light is only going to be 15 bucks. That’s awesome.

If I ever go back and play Atelier Escha/Logy again, I’m totally buying Wilbell as a playable character.

  • I just can’t wait to be able to play FF XIV on my PS4. I played the Open Beta this past weekend and just simply loved it. April 14th can’t come soon enough, apparently.

  • @98 Persona 4 Dancing All Night is a 2015 title :( Maybe even in Japan.

@GummyCore How exactly is a game developed internally at Ubisoft an indie game?

  • The wolffffffffff among us for me. Loving this game so far.

  • Child of Light (PS4) pre-ordered!! :)

  • BigBossLegendary

I’ve downloaded the free FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn game from the PSN store.
I’ve installed the game. I also updated the “Update File.”
I start the game. After “checking the game” what pops up saying is. . .

[Cannot launch FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. Please register the promotion code included with your package or download.]

What promo code? It did not include a promotion code. If so, where? Because there was no notification of any code anywhere.
Can I have a simple answer or am I going to have to go to this site, that site, this link, that link, sign up, sign in, etc. Or will get no answer? If it’s the latter no two then I’ve lost interest and not worth it.

  • I need to ask a question that probably has a simple answer: what’s the benefit of pre-ordering a digital game? I mean, what’s the difference if I pre-order it now, and if I just buy it the day it’s available? Thanks in advance for answers. :)

  • @146 / BigBossLegendary

FFXIV only releases on the 14th.

You can’t play it now. The open beta is over.

What you downloaded only permits you to play once you buy the game, and tie what you bought to your Square Enix account (via the promo code)

You’ll only be able to buy it on the 14th, or pre-order it in stores and get an early access code. But that will only enable you to play starting on the 11th.

If you all want to play NOW, buy the PS3 version off the PSN store. You’ll be able to upgrade it to a PS4 licence friday, free of charge.
Until then you can start playing on your PS3.

PS : you have to put a payment method on the FFXIV website for the monthly fees…

  • I’m gonna grab that Strike Suit Zero while it’s on sale. My roommates and I are currently watching through Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Netflix, and it’s gotten me in the mood for some space. It should also be a fun way to play with the still new-ish TV.

Man, I don’t think I’ve gone two weeks without buying a game, accessory, SOMETHING for my Ps4 / vita since this year began. Crazy how happy I am to buy into the PS+ system and Sony ecosystem when you make the value proposition so high for someone fully entrenched. Each sale on a new game is a challenge to not wait to buy it, and I so often take the bait. Great job, keep getting awesome content like Towerfall and Mercenary Kings (although I didn’t have to purchase this separately, thank you :) and I’ll keep myself entrenched.

  • Only Stealth Inc. for me but…I might have to take a look at that Sunflowers game….damn $0.50 is too cheap.
