I preordered The Last Of Us for PS4 a couple of days ago. I’ve never played it before, so i’m excited to get to soon.

My friend, Old-school gamers (gamers that started around 3rd, 4th or 5th gen) are no longer the main audience.
We can no longer expect that every game will be there to pander us, we can either ***** about it and keep complaining about how older games were better or we can accept and adapt our minds to this new ages. For me, RPGs (either Western or Japanese) are no longer the same thing as before, so i decided to adapt my preferences to these new styles instead of ***** like a 75 year old retiree complaning about 2005s Music. The Last of Us is a really good game (a bit overrated in my opinion) but still, a real masterpiece, great gameplay, nice storyline, excellent graphics and a quite decent multiplayer.

Their games are dumbed down streamlined casualized linear crap pewpew western FPS dudebro Madden QTE lowest common denominator low brow games. These types of shallow games have infected the rest of the video game industry, which is why casuals (who dislike real video games because they’re new to video games and don’t know how to play them or are very good at them) play crap like Cawadoody, Angry Birds and The Last of Us. Why does every modern western game have to follow this stale linear pewpew formula? I kinda want to play my games, not have restrictions placed on me, which the last of us, is super linear, you cannot explore and you cannot play how you want to. This may as well be an on rails shooter. I WANT GAMEPLAY IN MY GAMES! Are new gamers so stupid that they don’t even know how to navigate maps? Is that the reason for super linear 3D games these days? Why are garbage “games” like tlou praised so much, when nothing about the “game” is good?

I am a traditionalist gamer, and an enemy of these new modern AAAs. I want turn based JRPGs back on home console with the production values of the classic Playstation JRPGs, the sole reason why I used to buy Playstation consoles, and I also want Nintendo to put more effort in trying to be creative with their new games.
Hell, does Sony even have any first party JRPGs this gen, preferably turn based? Not that I can think of, but they have tons of first party crappy shooters and interactive movies though. Pandering, trying to “APPEAL TO A WIDE AUDIENCE”, like all games, mostly AAAs that do this are so crappy. The Last of Us is very harmful to the industry, and with filth like it, it’s no wonder it’s so difficult to find superb games these days. I have to go and play old stuff, for the most part, to play something worthwhile, that isn’t Souls or Tales. (Final Fantasy was ruined with Lightning Hallway Fantasy XIII and XIV looks like crap and nothing like Final Fantasy)

The Last of Us has terrible gameplay though and the story is also terrible. So, it’s not a good game with a good story. The gameplay is a clunky TPS, and other TPS play far better than it. The story has been done billions of times before, it’s just cliche zombie post apocalyptic crap. Yes, I have finished tlou and it was one of the most terrible “games” ever. Do people NOT want to be able to play their games anymore? Why the restrictions on gameplay and exploration? Also, QTEs = diarrhea.

There are millions of people who feel the same way I do. You are the one who is the dumpster baby if you think modern games are good, you filthy casual. Are you happy with mediocre modern games? Like it or not we’re in 2014 not Nintendo 1986 or Atari 1984. Games have evolve over the years and this is how games are being made and played today. You say there are millions of gamers that feel the same way you do. Well theres just as millions of gamers that feel the exact same opposite. I personally don’t mind how these games are being made as long as I’m getting my money’s worth. Just my 2 cents.
This is what happens when JRPG’s are the only genre you like. Maybe move over seas I hear there are crap on top of crap for ya. As for TLOU, not sure I have ever played anything like it before. Metacritic scores don’t lie, maybe its not your cup of tea; why even play these types of games if you could care less? So you can rant? Take it elsewhere. Nobody is gonna convince me that TLOU was not a great game and a perfect send off for the PS3. Saying that it sucks further lets us know that you haven’t played it and just want to go off about nothing. Just Saying…!!!

There are tons of linear “games” that focus on presentation and linearity over actual gameplay. So, you’ve never played Uncharted, Gears of War, Resident Evil 5 or 6, Splinter Cell Blacklist, etc.? Those games are all a lot like the last of us. Also, why do they put QTEs in games? QTEs are trash. Anyhow, generic pieces of crap TPS. Casuals also ruined the Resident Evil and Splinter Cell series, but that’s going off topic.
Also, most JRPGs, especially modern turn based ones are weird pedo loli crap, especially ones only released in Japan. Why can’t we get new turn based Final Fantasies, Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, etc., in classic styles?
