The lack of PSone/PSP additions to Vita playback is a little worrisome- does this mean they’ll soon evaporate? Here’s hoping they stick around!

I wish they’d release them though. They have no qualms about continuing to release Disgaea 4 avatars of the same characters over and over again even though that game’s older than mk2.

And YES the games/dlc/stuff is not added to the Store so it’s about time…

123

+ luvtoseek on April 22nd, 2014 at 6:25 pm said:

@114, Sinistar- the primary reason for the price disparity is most games & productivity apps are coded on PCs. If a game selects the popular Unreal engine let’s say, a licensing & contractual fee has to be agreed upon. So fast forward, the development’s done & the product launches on Steam or Origin for example.

If there’s a profit & demand presents itself from various other platforms… well, the devs now has to invest in a devkit for that home/portable console. Add to that there’s likely certification & storage costs. That’s why gamers need to take a step back when PSN/Xbox Live prices/sales do Not mirror Steam. Further, big data isn’t weightless; consumers often forget this & ask: ‘How come the digital version of xxxxxx cost this while I can buy it used @ xxxxx?’

The first problem is, used games are destroying console development… cuz the devs & publishers receive $0 when a used game is purchased. Now imagine all those coupons/rewards/promos offered by various vendors. So long story short, gamers have options & should be grateful for that. Vote w/ your wallet & don’t make an argument til ye know ALL the facts.

Octodad is a lot of fun, ha ha.

Also, for anyone wondering about those PSP games that are now compatible on Vita: you can assign the right analog stick in Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops to control the camera, which helps that game’s frustrating control scheme to make it control more like a third person shooter. Without the right stick it always felt difficult to use on PSP. Now it might be worth replaying if I ever attempt the play the Metal Gear series in chronological order. With the HD version of MGS 2 and 3, you can play most of the series on Vita now :)

Also, the right analog stick works for other PSP shooters like Syphon Filter and Resistance: Retribution, so it adds a lot to these games.

@140
Capcom doesn’t care that a lot of people want Megaman Legends 1 or 2. They’d rather make mainstream games that bring in tons of money like Street Fighter or something. They also canceled development of Megaman Legends 3, even though it was a “fan” project with tons of people volunteering many hours of their time to develop content for it. So…your best option is to import the PSP version of those games from Japan, if you still have a PSP…
