It’s been just over a week since we launched MLB 14 The Show for PS4 and the response from the PlayStation community has been amazing. We’re thrilled to announce that MLB 14 The Show is the fastest-selling entry in franchise history, thanks to you.
MLB 14 for PS4 has exceeded the previous marks for most preorders, most day-one sales, and most week one sales. Compared to last year, week one sales are up nearly 40%.
It’s not just sales setting the records. Since the game launched for PS4 on May 6th, here’s how The Show community has been playing MLB 14 The Show:
- The Orioles are the most popular team; Yankee Stadium is the most popular ballpark
- Almost 10 million games played so far
- Over 200,000 Road to The Show careers started
- There have been more than 5 million hits, 780,000 home runs and 500,000 stolen bases
- In the first week, there have been more than 7 million strikeouts, 330,000 complete games, and 100,000 shutouts

@Qu3st39 PEDs are simulated via purchasing stubs. Perf Enh Dollars. Just sayin’. I still haven’t used the 6k they gave digital preorders but I will eventually.

dude, a PED feature would be intense!!! haha! take a temporary buff, but face the risk of a random test. get caught and get slapped with a 50 game suspension and possible contract issues. keep using and be at risk for certain tendon injuries or something, while possibly recovering faster from other injuries. oh man, now that’s baseball simulation.
while we’re at it, we should also introduce the foreign substance on the ball option for pitchers, too.
and on a more serious note, I think it’s too bad there isn’t a photo mode for MLB. Really really hope they implement one next year. Can’t imagine the beautiful screens people might create a la second son.
The Chicago White Sox alternate home uniform uses the normal home black helmet when batting instead of the alternate matching one which they wear every Sunday for home games. It was the same in the game last year and I submitted the problem at theshownation.com 3 times without them fixing it. I’ve submitted it once already this year as well and as a White Sox fan who’s favorite uniform just so happens to be the alternate home jersey I won’t be buying the game next year unless it’s fixed THIS YEAR

Now if only the online servers actually worked and recorded games. Online Franchise is unplayable at the moment, despite promises that they redid the network code so that it worked. This ruins the game for me and everyone I know. Fix it Sony.

Good to see the developers getting the money and sales they deserve. Since this will never be multi-plat (thank god for that xbox doesnt deserve it) it’s great to see even non hardcore baseball fans picking it up because of the stellar ratings, graphics, and gameplay.. I am addicted and can’t stop franchise… I struck out some guy last night at midnight 24 times lol. Iwakuma vs Kershaw kuma won

A great game indeed I was tempted to buy this but passed on it . I already have 2k14 but who knows I may change my mind.
This is my first MLB The Show I’ve bought on release day. I am loving the “Road To The Show”!!! I haven’t bought a Show game for a long time, but this was worth it. Amazing game!!!

This game is BRILLIANT. I got MLB 13 on Vita and it was great, so I HAD to get this for the PS4… And wow. I’m a big sports fan (not really into baseball though) and this game is definitely the best sports game I’ve ever played. I can even play HR Derbys with my 3 yo son… Which is the 1st time I can play a sports game with him… Thank you Sony!
I don’t play any sports games but this might be hte first one I will purchase.
First sports game I’ve bought in a few years and my first baseball game in probably 5. Wasn’t sure if I’d really get into a sim but to be honest, I’ve been playing on an easier setting an having a blast in RTTS. I’m not looking for an overly complicated sim just yet, but that may change as I get more accustomed to the game.
This game just plain SUCKS! It has loading issues, lots of graphics issues and glitches, forget of playing online. Lagging and Freezing won’t let you play without going nuts! SIMPLY A BS GAME!

To post this after releasing PES 2014 on PS+ for USA is just trolling. Like 10 people in America got excited about PES 2014, the other 5 million gamers couldn’t care less. If you’d released this game for free it would make more sense. I guess PES sales were hurting and the online population already needed a boost, considering how bland the game is. Could’ve at least gave us an arcade soccer game not a boring simulation.
great news, fix the online lagging. i would share the video i recorded of how choppy it is when i knocked a HR into next week.
Could you give us the number of times the frame rate dropped like a rock??? Game does play well , but there is no reason for the erratic and sometimes pitiful frame rate.
Hey Sony: What’s the deal with the PS1 price increases? $5.99 games are now $7.49 and your ripoff $9.99 games are now $11.99.
This game has a somewhat alarming number of bugs. But I rather see a game released with glitches at an earlier date than a bug-free game released at a later date providing that patches be released frequently.
Also that a relative bug-free patch be released at a day that a delayed version would of come out.
In other words I’m glad I’m playing this now even if it isn’t fully polished instead of waiting.
