Mugen Souls Z for PS3

Greetings, friendos! David from NISA here ready to kick off your weekly PlayStation Store update day with some awesome news! The cray cray RPG, Mugen Souls Z, is out today on both PlayStation Store and in retail stores for PS3! Created by COMPILE HEART and GCREST, Mugen Souls Z features a vibrant, free-roaming battle map, unique turn-based combat, and massive amounts of customization to quench even the most hardcore RPG fan’s thirst. What uberness awaits you in Mugen Souls Z? Read on to find out, mein friends!

Let’s give you all a brief rundown of the story first! Our favorite Undisputed God of the Universe, Chou-Chou (the main character from the first Mugen Souls), returns with her crew for a brand-new story revolving around the zodiac.

Taking place immediately after the first game, you take control of the goddess Syrma, who meets Chou-Chou just after the end of the first game’s events. Syrma is out to stop an ancient threat to her world that has recently awakened (as many threats and/or evils always seem to do in RPGs!).

How about the battle system? Fans of the Hyperdimension Neptunia series will recognize the battle encounters, as this title shares the same area of effect/free movement battle system. On top of this, Disgaea fans will appreciate a lot of the team attack/over-the-top animations where your characters can do billions of points of damage! Along with Syrma, you can expect a ton of new characters, each with a personality of their own — relating to the zodiac.

Let’s talk a bit about some of the other key features of Mugen Souls Z. While you’re out conquering worlds, you’ll encounter some pretty epic spaceship battles. Like in the first Mugen Souls, it’s shields-up and red alert as you’ll have to prove your worth against a slew of gigantic space hunks of metal that are out to decimate you.

Life is hard as the God of the Universe, you see. Aside from stellar space battles, you’ll travel through 12 different worlds. During battle, one of the new mechanics you’ll experience is “The Damage Carnival,” where if you deal enough damage, the festival of pain will come to town. This mechanic deals extra damage and can even score you some more loot once the battle is over. More loot for the win! Lastly, this title is packed with tons of customization and character creation abilities — so prepare your creative juices.

Again, we’re extremely stoked for Mugen Souls Z to launch today. We also will be releasing a bunch of awesome DLC in the near future, so keep your eyes peeled, doods! Thank you for reading and we’ll be back shortly to talk about more awesome stuff!
